The Winter Solstice, December 21st, is a day of reflection, actually a small amount of time for reflection because it is the shortest day of the year. It is a day to reflect on our harvest of food, as in ancient time, or our harvest of good feelings and generosity and a day to reflect on the love, appreciation, and kindness we have given. It is the day when we plan and mentally lay out our gardens for a more plentiful harvest; a time when we put into mental motion the acts that will reap goodness and thoughtfulness; and a time to express heartfelt gratitude. The Winter Solstice, yes, it is a quiet, reflective day.
