Special Prize for First 5 Kickstarter Backers!

So as I mentioned earlier, my Kickstarter goes live at midnight (PST) tonight. And I am a sadistic enough individual that I don’t really want to stay up until midnight all by myself. So, in the hopes of getting a few of you stay up with me, I’ve decided to offer a special prize to the first 5 people who back my Kickstarter—at any level. That’s right, any level. Even a buck. Because I have to give you a chance to be a little sadistic back at me, don’t I?

So what is the awesome prize I am offering? It’s a t-shirt. With the Stanton Institute logo on it.

So c’mon, stay up late with me, and show your allegiance to the foremost center of credomantic scholarship in the United States.

THE WARLOCK’S CURSE strikes at midnight

Yes! Tonight! At the very hour of midnight! I will click the bright green “launch” button and my Kickstarter to fund the publication of THE WARLOCK’S CURSE will go live. All will be revealed. All the deepest secrets and darkest mysteries that have surely been keeping you awake each and every night shall be made clear unto you.

At that time I will also download a list of all the current subscribers to my mailing list. Whoever on that list goes on to support my Kickstarter at any level (even a buck) will receive a special extra gift—and if you want to know what it is, you’ll have to check back after midnight. Don’t worry, I won’t keep you in suspense (gee, would I do that to you?) I’ll reveal it in my very first backer update.

Also (at midnight) I will be making public (on YouTube—and as the Kickstarter video itself) the book trailer/music video. Vamp rockers Igor Spectre kindly and generously allowed me the use of their song “Hope Chest” for this trippy little wander through the schitzophrenic realms of German Expressionism. And I had a lot of fun making it, even though it took almost 20 hours and my eyeballs were bleeding before I was done.

What else can backers expect to see in the campaign’s first seven days? Well, among other things:

The official reveal of artist Lee Moyer‘s incredible cover art, as well as a look at several other beautiful graphic elements and visual treats
Spotlight on development editor Juliet Ulman
A historical article on the fashions of 1910 (Bottom line: Enormous hats are to these books what bustles were to the last two.)
And, in the special secured backer-only area of my website, the book’s prologue in its entirety (Yeah, yeah. I know. You all hate prologues. To hell with you. Prologues are awesome. And this one’s good and bloody, I promise.)

So climb on board this crazy train and let’s take a ride. Is this train bound for Glory or bound for Hell? Is there an observation car? Do the conductors wear little hats, and is there wi-fi? I cannot say. I can only promise you that, like all train rides, it will make many stops in places you’ve never been, and you will not be allowed to get off and have a smoke.

Puppies

I have to run to work and last night my blog broke, necessitating emergency installation of a whole new theme (Pagelines … I  already love it) so no time for an actual post about the puppies that arrived yesterday. But there are 9 of them, and they are all healthy and well, and here are [...]

Three Questions with A.M. Dellamonica, author of BLUE MAGIC

BLUE MAGIC author A.M. Dellamonica

BLUE MAGIC by A.M. Dellamonica hits the shelves today! It's the sequel to the award-winning INDIGO SPRINGS—which (as I mentioned when I reviewed it) contained a character whom I hated so much she made my teeth ache. In today's episode of "Three Questions Make An Interview" I ask Alyx about the tooth-achingly hateable Sahara, ambition, [...]

My Week in Twitter

5 days off work and 178 pages (of 237 total) are now EDITOR READY. Alas, there's a lot of ugly left to deal with in those last 60 pages. # Note for the record: @has_bookpushers is a sweetheart & she knows why # There was a famous department store in 1910 Detroit called "Crowley's." [...]

Pinning a "hate me" sign to your back

So as I may have mentioned once or twice, I'm currently working on a book called THE WARLOCK'S CURSE. It's the third book in my Veneficas Americana series, a family saga that will follow the shifting fortunes of a family of American warlocks and witches from the 1870s to the present day. While the first [...]

Oh Mercury Retrograde, you prankster! I can't imagine a more hilarious time for the only working computer I have left to break down! # It is a truth universally acknowledged, that a writer in possession of a strict deadline must have a MOTHERFUCKING COMPUTER BREAKDOWN. # (Sorry for the swears.) # On the plus [...]

Three Questions with Jaime Lee Moyer, author of DELIA'S SHADOW

This installment of "Three Questions Makes an Interview" is coming a wee bit later than I'd hoped thanks to Mercury Retrograde's Sweet Sledgehammer of Doom. But it'll take more than the tyranny of the cold uncaring stars and the obvious grudge they harbor against me and my technological equipment to keep me down.

So [...]
