#KCRenFest

Had a GREAT time this past weekend at the Kansas City Renaissance Festival in Bonner Springs, KS! Celebrating our 17 year anniversary, we dressed up in our costume finery and headed west with our girls to enjoy a fun filled day! The weather was perfect and other than dodging some of the crowds, it was a wonderful time!

#HRR2016 Retreat

WOW! That's really all I can say to describe the AMAZING inaugural retreat hosted by Authors Renee Bernard and Deliliah Marvelle. Held in Spokane, WA at the marvelous Historic Davenport Hotel from Sept. 22-25, it was the "ComicCon" of Historical Romance. Writers and readers alike mingled in a fun, friendly and wonderful atmosphere. From the old time movie, "The Law and the Lady" at the Bing Crosby theater, to high tea, gambling, absinthe, a book signing and a grand ball, it was a magical gathering of like minded individuals. I took soooo many pictures, especially of my "rock star" authors that I can't possibly upload them all to my site! Check out my author page on Facebook for a full accounting. It was a great time and the fact I was with my oldest daughter made it even more special.

In other news...

I've already been working on the second book in my Ways of Love series that will feature (spoiler alert!) Roarke and Mara from "Why the Earl is After the Girl," currently entitled, "Where the Viscount Found Love." These characters have been a little more difficult in revealing their story, but after some negotiation, we are figuring it out ;) I am thrilled to be working on it in order to (someday!) share it with you all :)School will be starting soon and my girls will be heading back to fourth grade and yes, I have a sophomore! Where has the time gone? Or the summer for that matter?! I am also going back to work at the local community college, MACC, where I am employed as a part time "lunch lady!" It's a great school and worth checking out -- www.macc.edu. I enjoy meeting all the students and seeing the wonderful faculty and staff AND it gets me out of the house for awhile so I don't turn into some crazy, writing hermit.

My first giveaway is upon us!

Like most of my fellow authors, I believe it's important to give back to my faithful readers and friends! If you haven't done so already, make sure and "like" my author page on Facebook. Here is the link -- https://www.facebook.com/TotallyTabet.... Once I reach 200 "likes" I'm going to give away a necklace and floating charm, just to say, Thank you!! Right now I only have 26 more to go! My ultimate goal is 500 by the end of the year, where I will hold out all the 'good stuff' until then ;)

The work is far from over!

I have already had such great support from friends and family for my debut historical, that I am humbled! While some are waiting for the print version (me too!), it takes time. A book is a constant process. First comes the inspiration, the writing, the editing, the submissions, the rejections, the tears, the doubts -- until, if you are lucky enough to break into the industry, or prefer to self publish, there is still soooo much to do. Reviews, blogs, industry events are just the tip of the iceberg. While Rome wasn't built in a day, neither was a successful author. I'm certainly not expecting to reach the heights of some of my personal, inspiring "Rock Star" writers, but I am happy to just continue writing and making a career out of something I love. I truly can not say it enough. THANK YOU for this opportunity to live my dream :)And don't forget to connect with me on social media! See MY reviews for booksat Goodreads.
