News or fiction?
I've been amazed over the last three years how much my fiction writing has reflected what is going on in the real world.
A few years ago I wanted to write a good old yarn about the Middle East where I spent a few years, and incorporate some of the things I learned in the military, it was meant to be fun, and a straight forward 'rescue mission' kind of story.
The result was my first novel, 'Sting of the Scorpion' and it's a 'thrill a minute' ride through the region.
Just after the book was released the situation with ISIS ramped up and we (the West) were sending 'advisors' to help the Kurds fight.
As soon as the book was published I gave a few copies away to friends and the first question after reading was, "Okay, when's book two coming out?"
I'd already played around with the idea for book one for a while, so that hadn't taken long to write, book two I had an idea for but that needed a little adapting, so that took a little longer, that one, by the way, was "Scorpion's Reach, the Team is back" and is also on Amazon.
There's a thread between the two, but I'm going to leave that for you folks to work out and see what replies I get.
