Synopsis: Police around the world report a series of murders employing the same bizarre MO. Each victim is found strapped to a chair, eyes propped open a la "Clockwork Orange", and some awful dreck by James Patterson, or one of his ilk, in front of them. Coroners report, in all cases, death by despair or revulsion. Thanks to diligent data sifting the common tie is discovered: all of the victims are Goodreads members who enter every giveaway they stumble upon. None of them posted the expected review.
The perp is never discovered, and it is suspected that police everywhere, aghast at the criminal inconsiderateness of the non-responders, have quietly concluded they got their just desserts.(less)
