Love, Murder, and Corruption in Lancaster County chronicles the sensational case of Lisa Michelle Lambert, who was wrongly convicted in Lancaster, Pennsylvania of the 1991 murder of a young girl that had briefly dated her abusive boyfriend. Lisa, who obtained her college degree from Boston University while incarcerated in Framingham, Massachusetts, describes her turbulent relationship with her boyfriend, her version of what transpired the day of the murder, and her long odyssey through the judicial and prison systems. I chime in every few chapters to dissect the complex legal issues in Lisa's case. I'd like to think that the book contains the same elements as "Making a Murderer" (wrongful conviction predicated on police and prosecutorial misconduct) and "Orange is the New Black" (memoir by articulate woman about her experience in prison).
