R. A. Whitworth is an artist and writer from South West England. As an artist she paints coastal scenes and animal portraits, as a writer she lives within worlds like the Eárie, full of mystery and beauty devoting herself to explore its many secrets as well as the people who live there. Before becoming a writer she studied Animal Management at college with goals of going to university to study marine biology, wanting to make a difference in the world and help to protect wildlife.
After discovering the Eárie and writing it alongside her studies and enriching it through a study trip to South Africa, she took a break from her studies to complete her debut novel, A Retreating Tide. Currently she is working to complete the second installment in T

Why I Write

Often, I am asked what inspired me to write my novel and dedicate myself to my fantasy series, The Mirror of Shadows. I will often answer that nature is my inspiration, which is true, I have a great love of natural history which almost took me to studying Marine Biology in university.
