What Does This Mean?

Quick question, let's see who knows. What has this picture got to do with one of my stories? (Indirectly and not inspirationally I should add! Image from Pinterest)

COMPETITION! Apocalyptic Winter 2 (Anthology)

The last of my little competitions (maybe) for now. Please read carefully and follow the rules for your entry to count.

It's Monday morning, the weather here is miserable, wet and dark. To keep the shadows at bay I decided to run another little competition.

18+ only - horror theme anthology. UK ENTRANTS ONLY AT THIS TIME.

This time there is an anthology up for grabs; one I was very proud and pleased to be a part of. Apocalyptic Winter - Book Two, by Angry Eagle Publishing, features short stories by DJ Cooper, Christi Reed, Albert Moss, C.A Moll, Susan G. Isenberg, Jill Davies, D. Ryan Buford, Conny Fuller, Tammy Fahey, C.J.Roberts. G. Neil Trochychuk and of course, me, S. P. Oldham.

All of the following words had to be included in the story:

Christmas tree

Serving spoon

Bear

Secret

Scarf

Apocalyptic Winter: Book Two features the results of this challenge, in short story form. I hope the winner enjoys it. But! As the saying goes, you've got to be in it to win it.

To enter, pick one of the specified items and tell me how you think it might help you get through an apocalyptic winter.

The answer I deem to be the most ingenious/amusing/clever/frightening (!) will be the winner.

Thank you to Dee Cooper and Angry Eagle Publishing.

Competition not in any way associated with Facebook. Competition will close at Midnight GMT on Friday 6th November. No prize alternatives. Judges decision is final.

Enter here: https://www.facebook.com/solostinword...

Thank you to https://www.loquax.co.uk/ for listing this competition.

Recent Competition Winners

Congratulations to recent prize winners here on So Lost in Words/So Lost in Words on Facebook and on Reading Zombie on Facebook (Alina Giuchi) where I recently did a day's takeover. It was a lot of fun and I met a lot of like-minded people from all over the world. The most recent winners then, were:

Cyndi Elliott

Stephanie Daly

Congratulations too, to recent prize winners of competitions I held on Written Undead on Facebook

Sharon Hendrix

Felicity Hart

Prizes were a mixture of So Lost in Words facemasks (limited edition,) bookmarks, pens, free downloads and tote bags. Plenty more swag here, so I think I might just have to run a few more competitions, it being the month of Halloween after all. Here's a collection of some of the things you might win, if you enter.

There will be much more up for grabs too. Jackets, can openers, trolley tokens and more! Keep checking in for competitions or check me out on .Facebook

My Thoughts on Reviews

For clarification - a couple of fellow indie authors have experienced some truly horrible remarks and questions in reviews they received recently. I will leave you to make your own minds up about the whys and wherefores, but it prompted me to think about reviews and share some of my own thoughts on the subject.
Just some thoughts on reviews and reviewing. If you want to share your responses then by all means do, but please keep it civil. Thank you.
