Mate of Mine
Mate of Mine Out Today
I hope you all enjoy reading MoM. I have loved writing the first three books in this series, and can’t wait to get started on the next three. I’ve always wanted to try writing a paranormal romance and now I have I know I’ll be writing more.
At the moment, I have plans for six books in this series, but I can see that increasing to possibly ten. I also have plans for a paranormal village with lots of different species living there, but that’s for later in the year.
I’m also working on my M/F series, Evolution. The first book is going through edits and the next three are planned. Busy times ahead!
Off to write more stories.
Take care.

Mate of Mine
Just for you.
Chapter One Jeremy
The water rushed over his head, sweeping Jeremy along with it. He struggled to keep his head above the water, but the undercurrent kept pulling him down. It didn’t matter how hard he kicked or how hard he moved his arms, he couldn’t stay above the water, and when he did make it, he managed to take a quick gasp of air, then the water sucked him under again.
He shivered continuously and knew the ice-cold water would cause hypothermia if he didn’t get out. He had already lost the sensation in his hands and feet and struggled to use them when an object came close enough for him to grab hold off.
He was going to die. He knew it, but he refused to give in. If this deluge of water wanted him so badly, it would have to fight him every step of the way. He wanted to live.
The forecast had mentioned heavy rain, but no one appeared to have predicted the torrent that came. Up high in the mountains, the rain fell, and as it moved down the hills it gathered pace, and by the time it hit Jeremy’s small town the rain turned into a flood. It swept up everything in its path; boulders, trees, cars and houses, Jeremy included.
The alarm came too late, the majority of the townspeople caught unawares, and as they attempted to flee, the waters came crashing down around them. God knows how many were swept away.
Something smacked into his side, and Jeremy tried to grasp it, ignoring the pain that crashed through his body. He needed to stay afloat; otherwise, he was dead.
His arms and legs grew weaker, and he knew it wouldn’t be long before he couldn’t fight anymore. He’d slip beneath the waves and not resurface. Shit, he was scared— no, petrified. He wanted to live; he fought to live, and he wasn’t giving in easily.
Everything kept fading in and out, and Jeremy struggled to stay conscious. He couldn’t fall unconscious because he would die. If death wanted him, it would have to fight hard. Jeremy wasn’t going to die.
He fought to keep his head above the water, trying desperately to hang on and stay alive. He wanted to live!
Where was help? Why wasn’t it here yet? With that thought, another wave crashed over his head, and Jeremy fought on.
Breaking Free
Thank you to everyone who has read Breaking Free. I’m amazed at the positive feedback from everyone.
It’s the last one in the Second Chances series, but a spinoff is in the works with some of the characters introduced during the series. I’m looking forward to writing about them and letting you know how Tom, Ben, Matt and Luke continue.
At the moment, I’m working on another series, Rescue Inc, about men and women, both hum and vampire, that travel the US saving people when disaster strikes. The first three books are written and I have plans for another three. Maybe more.
I’m also working on another series, Falling in Love and the first two books are written and my first MF series called Evolution.
Busy girl and on that, I need to get back to it.
Bye for now.

Take a Chance
Wow, Take a Chance did far better than I thought it would so thank you to everyone who bought it. I hope you enjoyed reading about Tom and Seb and the journey they took.
I went to Canal St regularly and met quite a few of the people who ‘worked’ there. Some so young they should have been at home doing their school work. It was sad and frustrating that these kids were in this situation and worse that a number wouldn’t accept help because they were afraid. Most had escaped a horrendous home life and didn’t want to risk the chance of being sent back home.
Some didn’t want to end up in the system so chose a life on the streets instead. As I’m writing this, the news is that up to 90% of all homeless people are now addicted to ‘legal high’ called Spice. For as little as £5 they can escape the life they have, but unfortunately, some are overdosing on it.
I’m writing this and I’ll be honest and say I’m not sure what the answer is. Some people don’t want any help and others do but some fall through the cracks and are lost. There are services available, yet there are some who won’t accept the help.
With spending cuts hitting deep, it’s up to us, who can help, to help. Food, money or time and help those that want it.
Food, money or time. Help those that want it. At the end of the day, we’re all human.
Thanks for reading and take care.

Terrible Twos
Terrible Twos came out in January and I was surprised how well it did, so thank you to everyone who read it. I hope you all enjoyed it.
A lot of the experiences Zach had with his two nephews were what I experienced with y two boys. It was fun writing about what they got up to when they were younger. Now they are older they’re getting up to much worse!
The hospital scene was a difficult one to write as that was what I went through when my grandad died. I wanted to write it as a way to deal with what happened.
He didn’t die in a crash, but he had dementia and he did die in hospital. I arrived a few minutes after he had passed away, so I spent some time with him holding his hand.
He was a huge presence in my life and to this day I still miss him. He was a man who told it like it was, with absolutely no tact whatsoever! The number of times I had to apologise to someone when he’d said something that he didn’t consider offensive, but actually was…too many to count!
It’s been almost four years now since he left and I still reach for the phone to call him.
At least he’s with the love of his life, my nan. He never stopped loving her and talked about her every day after she left us.
That’s what I want too.
Take care xx
