Not Digging This Week: Valjean Labs RESTORE Serum :(
So I’m thinking the Restore serum is a no go for me.
Holy cystic acne friends.
I’d heard this was a problem for others but having never really had a problem with cystic acne, you can imagine my surprise when I got 4 of those suckers in 4 weeks.
So. I’m giving this one a pass.
Which leads to my next question: what do you do with makeup/skin care products you’ve barely used and decide against? Take them back? Donate them? Leave me a comment below.

My Safe Place

Over the past several months, I’ve come to realize we all need a safe space. Whether it’s our office, our bedroom, even the shower, we all need a place where we can feel safe. Where we can block out the world and just relax.
A variety of things have happened to make me seek solace. I bet some of the same things have happened to you. But for a long time, I thought that I was alone in that. That I was different and maybe a little weird, even a little crazy.
I’ve since decided that everyone is weird, crazy, and abnormal in their own way. And that’s the beauty of life. But when life gets to be too much, and you need a breather, I say it’s perfectly okay to go to your safe space. Cry. Lick your wounds. Just be.
Turn off the internet. Don’t answer the phone. Do what YOU need to do to recoup, recover, and thrive.
I’ve been burning the candle from all directions lately.
Feeling like I’m letting people down. Perhaps I am. Won’t be the first time, won’t be the last time.
The important thing is am I making myself happy? Am I living my best life? Do I feel safe and secure and confident and enriched?
Giving myself space and time to just sit and relax, think my thoughts without judgement… even my own judgement. Let’s face it. We’re often our own harshest critic.
Gosh, it’s glorious. I wish that for everyone.

#cockygate?
So I crawl under my rock for a few weeks and totally miss #cockygate. What do you make of this?
I have titles that are similar or the same as other titles. Heck, there’s even another series called Mystic Isle. But I’ve never felt particularly threatened or called to trademark everything. Maybe I’m falling down on the job.

It’s a PJs and blanket kind of day. Cool. Rainy. A perfect day for writing. And laundry…there’s always laundry.

Digging this week: Scrub, scrub, scrub
This brightening scrub from Acure is pretty amazing. I love how it polishes the skin but does so very gently. My old stand by from St. Ives has larger granules which don’t work as well as this.
Also loving these nail polish remover pads. I’m working my way toward cruelty free personal care but these are so handy when I walk out of the house with a mani or pedi that looks like an ancient, cracked and crackled paint job.
Do you have a health or beauty product you’re digging right now? Leave me a comment below.

Review: Kiss Cam by Anie Michaels
Hello Friends!
I have a book recommendation for you and I am so stinking excited about it.
I don’t even remember where I first noticed this book. BookBub maybe?
[image error]Anywhobs. It’s called Kiss Cam and it’s by a new to me author, Anie Michaels. For starters, how cute is this title? And the meet-cute is even cuter.
You see, it’s about two people who meet at a basketball game. The idea of ending up on the kiss cam about fifteen minutes after you meet someone is well, it gives my tummy knots, to be honest.
But these two have such an amazing connection.
And let me just say. I have rarely read such an amazing kiss as their Kiss Cam kiss. Sorry. Spoiler. Yes, they kiss. What did you think would happen in a book called Kiss Cam? LOL
There wasn’t anything I didn’t adore about this book. I’ll just go ahead and say it. Anie Michaels did a masterful job with this book. Kiss Cam is what I wish all romance novels were. Conflict, but a realistic one. And not so much that I get annoyed with the h/H. Passion, friendship, a thoughtful hero, steamy, sweet, interesting side characters. And of course, a happy ending.
AND
As of this writing, the book is currently FREE ($0.00) on amazon. Run, don’t want. One click. Do what you gotta do. Here’s that link again. Go get it!

If you’re on Kobo, Apple or Google Play, chances are, you haven’t read the Collector’s Edition. A lapse on my part means that this book has only been offered on these platforms in the last few days.
But the good news is it’s available now so go get it!

Set in Louisiana, the Stormy Weather series follows the sinfully handsome Deveraux men on their quest to true love. This hurricane season the stars are finally aligned just right and these smooth talking wolf shifters are in for a wild ride full of danger and passion!
In The Cajun’s Captive, Alpha Sebastian has a blast from the past when he comes face to face with the woman he thought would be his other half. Now he’ll do anything to win her back, even tie her to his bed.
Then his younger brothers meet a wildlife photographer in the heart of the bayou in Bitten In The Bayou. With a hurricane baring down on them, they’ll offer her shelter but will Jules lose his heart to the beautiful strawberry blonde or will her past catch up with her?
Just a month later, in Seduced by a Cajun Werewolf cousin Laurent is wondering what’s in the water when he sees a ghost. The love of his life is alive and well and trying to kill him!
Brother Andre is in Savannah on business in Mated to a Cajun Werewolf when his past catches up with him. Nothing is what it seems and once again mother nature is showing her teeth. Even though Juliette broke his heart, he can’t help but protect her. But who will protect his heart?
Cousin Burke runs away from all the bayou craziness in Stranded with a Cajun Werewolf. There is definitely something in the water down there so he heads north to his cabin in New Hampshire. A near miss with a crazy driver turns out to be a woman in grave danger, a woman he can’t resist. A fierce early season snow storm will strand them together just long enough to unravel all their secrets.
