Break week has only just started and at 8.15pm, I’m already lying down. Okay. It hasn’t even really started! My mum called it a vacation and I started laughing—four kids and no school isn’t a vacation ;-) but we’ll definitely have fun (some days, at least!) And although I won’t be writing or dealing with email, I’ll be writing stories in my head and falling over when we ice skate and making the most of (almost) every minute. And I’ll try to post a Writing prompt if I remember my brain….

This is it for food photos, I promise! But I made this after my class last night with @chefjuancarlo (thanks for such a great class) and I was pretty proud of myself—especially as the kids are home from school due to a water main break and Yann was away. Fitting in a fancy supper just for me (the kids had pancakes;-) was a treat. Anyways, as this feed is about YOU writing and not about me, use this image as a prompt today. Perhaps have two characters start an argument over this meal… arguments are always fine writing territory…. #writersofinstagram #writingprompt #scene #food #argument #500wordsorless

Learning to cook tonight with @chefjuancarlo . It makes me think about how a fictional character’s interests might reveal a lot about them. Write something set in a cooking class—or think about what your character’s secret passions might be. #writersofinstagram #writing #writingprompt #500wordsorless

Inspiration for your next story or poem can come from the most unlikely places. Here’s my son’s spelling test words for the week. When I look at this list, I could chose to see the repeated conversations ahead with him, where he sulks about having to study. Or I could instead see words that could be rearranged and added to, to make something new. Likely, I’ll deal with the arguments about getting him to practice. But hopefully YOU get the chance to use this to get you writing. Either use the words themselves, or the memory of a test you’ve had to sit in the past. Or make your character study for something… happy writing! #writing #writingprompt #500words #creativity
