Farmgirrrl Divas meet last week!

Do you like our work-in-progress logo? Pretty fab, thanks to Farmgirl Devona, for this!
Ah, yes, the Farmgirrrls met again, finally! We got together to make cards, as in Christmas cards. Farmgirl Karen brought her fabulous mom to show us how to stamp, glue, cut out, layer, etc, to make holiday cards. Mama Maryann brought lots of samples and paper goods for us to work with, while we ate mushroom lentil soup, cheeses, humus, wine, apple cranberry sauce, wine, lemon bars and more! A brief visit ...

Comments from you, here, now easier…
As it turns out, when this blog got updated a few weeks back, the place for you to leave comments was changed. I wondered why I had not heard from any of you in sooo long! We have supposedly fixed that now, so you can write to me quickly again! Let's see if it works. Got anything to say to me? Try it out.
I do so love to hear what you have to say about all stuff tribal, farmgirl, One More Thing, and beyond.
In gratitude…

some dances to watch- Ethiopian shoulder dances
When I was in the UK a few weeks back, I went to see Tinariwen, berber musicians from Africa, in London, on the last night of my dance tour. It was a sold out show, and hey were wonderful to see live, playing that kind of strutting, sexy, slow, desert blues. I have seen them once before, when we shared the stage at WOMAD in Seattle, and have loved them ever since. They had a slow groove that was hypnotic. And there new CD, Imadiwan, is really similar, and wonderful.

more photos from Collective Soul Three and thoughts on teaching…
Hilary, Amanda, Carol, and
Carol, Hilary, Amanda, Paulette, and Karen
For our three day CS3 intensive, we were joined by Carol, from Gypsy Caravan, and Karen from the Caravan Dance Collective. They were there to dance with us, partake in the fun and the work, and refine and reinforce their own dance. It is so nice to see when dancers can let go of their egos, and just do more work on their technique. We are never done, are we? It is humbling, yet always encouraging for dancers to not...
Collective Soul Level Three- complete!
Yes, my dancers have done me proud! Amanda Richardson, from Wisconsin, and Hilary Giovale, from Arizona, have completed their certification in CS 3! They are the first, other than my Gypsy dancers, to have gotten this far with my training. They have worked so hard to get this far, believing in this dance, in me, and mostly in themselves! It takes courage, time, discipline, desire, and yes, some money, to keep studying with your teacher, especially long distance. These girls have achieved the ...

eggs

the girls are ready
and now for something a bit different.my lovely dancing friend Lydia, was my first egg customer! When my beautiful young hens started laying their eggs, she was first in line to buy a dozen, and now she gets them almost every week from me. I love that… that's as local as it gets, and fresh and organic eggs from well loved chooks!
but what was even more special was what she wrote to me, after cooking the eggs the following morning for her two little girls.

more on Collective Soul certifications…
Before I continue on with CS3 that just finished, I need to congratulate the CS 2 grads from England in October!
After I finished up with CS 1 in Aylesbury, with six lovely dancers getting certified, I taught at the Tribe Vibe Festival for a weekend, and then went on to do three more days of CS2 in Lewes with five more dancers! Who all did fantastically, by the way. I so enjoy working with dancers who have been studying with me for quite awhile now. To see them grow into their dance with more ...

One More Thing–a thought just for you today
My One More Thing idea today is not about helping someone else out, or doing that extra something for the earth that we are trying to keep happy. It is about you.
Sometimes, do you ever feel that you can't do that one more thing? You are tired, cranky, overloaded, whatever. Well, how about you do one more thing just for yourself! Taking care of ourselves will help us do that thing we want or need to accomplish, that thing that will ultimately make us feel better. How often do you put yourself ...
