ABOUT THE BOOK
He tried to leave the past behind, but it won’t leave him…
Ex-gang member Garrett Lovett is a new creature in Christ. At least, he’s trying to be. He’s got a wholesome routine, a place on the IronWorks football team, and a pretty woman he wants to know better. But when the old gang resurfaces with the ultimatum to re-up or face consequences, Garrett has tough decisions to make. These guys know how to get to him—his addictions, his fears. When things get life-threatening, Garrett must decide if this God he’s heard about is real or not.
And if so, can he rescue Garrett and those he loves before it’s too late?

Ryann stepped in front of him, glaring, and put a foot on the ladder. “Just get out of my
way.”
Garrett frowned. “What do you know about roofing?”
“I can nail a tarp down better than you. Most likely. Are you one of those guys who
thinks women can’t do anything?”
“You didn’t impress me as—”
“Just give it a little time. I think you’ll be impressed.”
“All right, Princess. Let’s see what you’ve got.”
Her jaw clenched, but she started up the ladder.
He grinned and set out after her. “I’m coming just to hand you some tools.”
“I bet.” She climbed onto the roof and disappeared.
The other men would scramble up in a minute. He hesitated right before climbing onto
the roof. Okay. He probably was sexist. Was that the term nowadays? His dad was. For sure the
gang was.
He thought about his mom as he swung a leg onto the roof then inspected the area. His
respect for her far outweighed that for his dad. He wasn’t a complete chauvinist then. Just
women thinking they could outdo him when it came to construction—well, he’d take that
challenge.
“I have this great construction joke, but I’m still working on it.”
Her head swung around. “What?”
“I need to hammer out a few kinks first and nail the delivery.”
“Don’t even start. That won’t let you off the hook.”
“Or off the roof?”
Two hours later, Garrett wiped the sweat from his eyes. It had soaked his headband and
dripped like a washcloth being rung out. Ground water stood everywhere, and the heat and
humidity clung to his body like he sat in a sauna. Ryann had her hair in a ponytail, but still her
face flushed. And, well, she did know what she was doing. They’d managed to get the tarp
spread and nailed down faster with four of them working it.

Review of Jeanette's Gift by Blossom Turner
Welcome, readers. Today I want to share a Christian Historical Romance with you. "Jeanette's Gift" by Blossom Turner. I hope you enjoy reading about this uplifting and inspirational book.
About the Book
Book: Jeanette’s Gift
Author: Blossom Turner
Genre: Christian Historical Romance
Release date: October 11, 2022
This life wasn’t the one she dreamed of, but happily ever afters don’t always come when and how we expect.
At twenty-nine, Jeanette Williams has watched each one of her four sisters marry and start families of their own. It’s hard not to believe God has forgotten the desires of her heart, especially when most people refer to her as Spinster Williams. Without the beautiful children she teaches, life would be unbearably lonely.
When the handsome widower, Theo Wallace, and his six children move into the Shenandoah Valley, every available woman is atwitter—except for Jeanette. She has no such aspirations that someone as plain as her could draw even a smattering of interest.
As life throws this unlikely couple together, Jeanette can’t help but fall in love with Theo’s children and their soul-wrenching plight. Before she knows it, her heart is far more invested than she could’ve ever imagined. And not just with the children, but with their handsome father as well. Is she headed for another heartbreak, or is it possible God had a beautiful plan in the works all along?

My Review5 star ratingJeanette's Gift is set in 1881, Shenandoah Valley. Jeanette is a schoolteacher in a small community and teaching is her life. Feeling plain and destined to be a spinster, she doesn't realize the beautiful person she is inside and out. The ugly words spewed by others have hindered her growth to become the person God meant for her to be. Prompted by God, she is led to take care of a widower's six children whom she soon grows very fond of. Theo Wallace, the widower, balks at the idea, his past has soured him on women.
The storyline is full of lots of Christian compassion, hope, love and is one of the most beautiful budding relationship stories I've read to date. I admired the main character's beliefs and strength in trusting God in all things.
You better keep the tissues handy. I laughed, cried, and rejoiced with the characters. Highly recommended. I received an ARC from the publisher and voluntarily choose to review it.Julie

Do You Enjoy Romance That Keeps You Thinking Days Later?
Long before I knew I could write, I loved to read. Being a hopeless romantic I gravitated to all romance stories either contemporary or historical. I soon realized that finding clean fiction but still written with the passion God created us to experience, was hard to find. (Song of Solomon is a good example of the expression of passion and love between a man and woman without being explicit.)
Given the gift of a writing career later in life one thing was for sure…I wanted to write what I like to read. Clean romance does not need to be boring. As each story pours out, I realize that writing historical fiction is my passion. I finally know what I was born to do. The Shenandoah Brides is a series of five sisters and their five love stories. Oct. 11, 2022 is launch day for the final book in the series called Jeanette’s Gift.
Each book has a redeeming theme. Katherine’s Arrangement, set in the beautiful Shenandoah Valley, post-civil war, speaks on how to love the way 1 Corinthians encourages, even when marriage (Katherine’s is an arranged marriage) has proven to be very disappointing. The second book Amelia’s Heartsong, situated in Richmond, Virginia illustrates how love transcends the pomp and circumstance of class and money and encourages us to view others the way God does. The third book, Lucinda’s Defender unfolds back in the valley, and speaks of how our greatest mistake does not have to define our future. A message on second chances encourages the soul. The fourth book, Gracie’s Surrender once again set in Richmond, speaks of a life dedicated to the ministry of God helping the underprivileged orphans. Gracie learns that God can upset even our best intentions with a better plan.
However, the message for this fifth book, Jeanette’s Gift, is a subject so near and dear to my heart. Growing up in an environment that tore me down instead of build me up, proved to be invaluable in writing on this subject. The theme of this book—healing from low self-worth—is a topic that many will relate to.
Jeanette suffers from low self-worth and believes God has forgotten her. A very valuable process unfolds with truth and techniques that work today. Jeanette learns to accept that how life unfolds is up to the sovereignty of God, and He can be trusted. She also breathes in the truth of how she is, indeed, fearfully and wonderfully made.
My prayer is that as Jeanette grows toward healing in the story, that any reader suffering in this same way will embrace the steps on how to break this vicious cycle. I know from first-hand experience healing is possible, and I long to get that message out there.
Although this book can easily be read as a stand-alone, enjoying the whole series as the family saga unfolds will deepen the experience.
I sincerely hope you enjoy the read as much as I enjoyed the write. I love to hear from my readers. Contact me at http://blossomturner.com

Abduction Cold Case Reviewer Tour by Connie Queen
Getting to the truth could be deadly…
Finding a mysterious file on her desk sends psychologist Kennedy Wells chasing down clues to solve a twenty-six-year-old kidnapping—and straight into a violent assault. When Texas Ranger Silas Boone comes to Kennedy’s rescue, he can’t help but wonder at her resemblance to the long-missing girl. With someone willing to kill to end the investigation, can they uncover the truth…and live to see Christmas?
MY REVIEW
Abduction Cold Case has a lot of surprises and mystery around a child abduction. Kennedy, a psychologist, working at the Bring the Children Home Project has a manilla envelope appear on her desk. Inside is a cold case. She sets an appointment to meet with the mother, but when she arrives, circumstances bring about changes she isn't expecting.
The characters are well-developed. Kennedy is strong-willed and well-trained in abduction cases. Silas, a detective on medical leave suddenly is thrown into the case and tries to guard his heart from getting too involved.
This edge of your seat suspense leaves you hoping for a quick resolution to finding the one involved. I was engaged from the beginning. The author wrapped everything up nicely in the end and I couldn't wait to see how it all turned out. Highly recommended.
I received and ARC from the publisher and voluntarily choose to review it.

MY REVIEW
While on a wagon train from Nebraska to Wyoming, Annie Ledbetter a twelve-year-old, watches in horror as they are attacked by robbers. That fateful day stays impressed in her mind forever. They all survived but nothing would ever be the same. The three men would enter her sleeping hours and she continued to relive it.
She graduates and leaves Nelsonville for a teaching position in Willow Falls. She stays with a minister and his family. Everything works out better than expected until her past comes back to haunt her.
There are a lot of surprises, tense moments and mystery to the plot. Also, times of love, compassion and forgiveness. Gods message of forgiveness and how HE changes a person and creates a new person in Christ comes through. The story is a very emotional one, so keep the tissues handy. The ending wrapped up everything nicely with a powerful Christian message.
I received a complimentary copy from the publisher and willingly choose to review it.

MY REVIEWTwin Murder MixUp is an exciting on the edge of your seat suspense involving twin sisters and mistaken identities. Lots of twists to the story, great characters, and an exciting finish that wraps everything up nicely.
The characters of Amy and Keith are well developed, and I connected with them right away. The mystery aspects of the story evaded me until almost the end. A good read with intense scenes that will leave you breathless wondering what will happen next. Highly recommended.
I received a complimentary copy from the publisher and voluntarily choose to review it.
About the Author
Sami A. Abrams lives in Northern California, but she’ll always be a Kansas girl at heart. She loves to travel and watch sports. However, most evenings, you’ll find her engrossed in a romantic suspense novel. She thinks a crime plus a little romance is the recipe for a great story.
More from Sami
#Authorproblems That’s what the excitement around Keith Young was…a problem—Kinda. Lol!
When I started to hear request for his story, I panicked. Authors don’t want to disappoint their readers. And being new to the published scene…Well, you get the picture. 😊
After the release of Buried Cold Case Secrets, many readers told me they wanted Keith’s story. In fact, the overwhelming response puzzled me. What had I done to create such a buzz about Jason’s partner? And of course, I had to ask why?
The general answer I received…Keith’s a nice guy and the perfect partner.
I have to admit, I got a little nervous since I had already written his story. And I worried if I’d done his character justice?
However, after writing Buried Cold Case Secrets, I knew Keith had to have his own story. He’s such a great guy and needed his happily ever after. So, I dove in and asked, what would happen if he made a huge mistake? Not just a physical one, but a heart one.
By the time I finished, I loved seeing Keith and Amy move past their poor choices and hurt to find acceptance and love. The perfect ending to Keith’s struggles.
All that to say, I hope you love Keith and Amy’s story as much as I do. #TeamKeith

Judgement Call by E.B. Roshan
Excerpt from JUDGMENT CALL:
Thursday afternoon, our first winter butchering, I caught Kiva at the door before he headed into the tub room to wash up. He'd done the work of two all day, and looked it. Flecks of blood spattered every inch of him the butcher's apron hadn't covered. Fresh blisters from the bone saw swelled between the calluses on his hands. A rip in his jeans showed a matching scrape down his shinbone.
The freezer truck from Duna Market had driven up half an hour ago, but I hadn't expected them to be done with the loading until after dark.
"Three down, three to go," he said. "But the rain's coming in, so we decided to call it a day."
"Kiva." I took a deep breath to calm the jitters in my stomach. "I need you to do something big for me. For me and Sitabi both."
"Tonight?"
"No. When you have time."
The mud caked on his boots crumbled to the floor as he jerked the laces open. "Say the word and consider it done." He rubbed a sleeve across his weary face and smiled up at me.
"Help me find out where Rama's buried."
If I knew for certain Rama had a place to lie—hadn't just been thrown away like trash—maybe I'd be able to tell Kiva what he had a right to know before I became his wife. 'Rayad fighters took your husband's body,' Sanjit had told me. 'They honored him with a funeral and a grave.'
I hadn't believed him, but what if he'd been telling the truth for once?
Kiva stared at me.
"I want you take me to Duna tomorrow to see Erkan," I said.
Kiva's eyebrows drew together. "Why?"
"He might know where Rama is buried." Kiva shook his head, puzzled.
"I don't see what Erkan has to do with it."
"Didn't you hear what Dr. Neyrev said? They've been working to get the missing fighters identified. Tracking down relatives and friends. Finding gravesites." I swallowed to get the rasp out of my voice. "I want to see Rama's—if I can."
He leaned his broad shoulders back against the wall and blew out his breath so it lifted a loose twist of hair on his forehead.
I waited, standing still but with my heart galloping. Trying to fit the mismatched pieces of my life together—past and future—hill farm and ruined city—Kiva and Rama—made me wonder if even God could fix the mess I'd made.
Kiva groaned. "It's over. He's gone. Why do you have to keep going back there?"
"I don't know."
"When I look back at our life together, all the way from when we were kids, I don't see nothing but years and years of happy days," Kiva said softly. "`New calves in the spring, fresh meat in the fall. You sneaking away from your loom to follow me and Arjun when we checked the hill pastures. Weren't you happy?"
"Mostly."
"You seemed like a girl who'd hardly have a sorrow her whole life long."
I shook my head. If that's how he saw me, no wonder he was confused. He was a man—he'd never understand what it was like to grow up knowing exactly how many cows you were worth. He'd never been scared he might end up sold to someone awful.
"But then you ran off with Rama and he brought you nothing but shame and sadness and almost got you killed."
"He loved me," I said. He loved me, but I killed him, I tried to say, but my mouth wouldn't form the words.
Kiva set his boots side by side underneath the bench beside the red rubber boots I used in the mud. He moved mine so the toes would all be even. "I love you more," he said, very low. "Not that you care."
If only I could take the truth that hurt too much to speak aloud and plant it in Kiva's brain. "When there was fighting in our neighborhood, I wasn't hardly ever scared if Rama was around," I said. "Having him was like having a wolf to guard me. Didn't matter who might be in the street, or outside the door. He was so brave, he made me brave." Some nights he'd stand for hours, staring into the dark outside our apartment window. His slender body looked as much a weapon as the rifle he held.
"Maybe Rama wasn't a good man," I said. "But he would have bled every drop for Sitabi and me. If you can't honor him for that, then..."
Kiva sat so still a fly landed and crawled around on the back of his hand. He didn't swat it away, just stared at me, a long, deep stare that made me wonder if he could see in my face what I didn't dare say. His eyes got wet around the corners.
"That's how I feel, anyway," I whispered. For a little while, Rama had been my adventure. My fighter. My taste of freedom.
A long time later—it felt like an hour—Kiva finally moved. Leaning forward, he caught both my hands and pressed them between his grimy ones. He kissed the tips of my fingers. "I'm going to take care of you better than Rama ever did."

ABOUT THE AUTHOR
E.B. Roshan has enjoyed a nomadic lifestyle for several years, living in the Middle East and Asia, but is now temporarily settled in Missouri with her husband and two sons. When she's not chasing the boys or cleaning the house, she's writing the latest installment in the Shards of Sevia series.
AUTHOR Q & A
Q: Let me start with asking you to tell us a little bit about yourself.
I'm E.B. Roshan and I'm delighted to be able to share a little bit about me and my books with you all today. In addition to being an author, I'm wife to an exceptional man and mother to two sons. After spending several years living in the Middle East, Asia and various places in the U.S., our family has settled in the Philadelphia area.
Q: When did you first realize you wanted to be a writer?
A. I've been writing nearly all my life. When I was very young, I would write letters, that were really just wobbly scribbles, to my great-grandmother telling her about what I was doing. Writing runs in my family, I think. Nearly everyone seems to enjoy doing it on some level.
Q: Could you give us the highlights of your writing career?
A. Well, I'm by no means a professional writer, so my writing is definitely a recreation, not a career. I love finding new readers, and it's fun to sell the occasional book, but if I was trying to turn my writing endeavors into a full-fledged business, I don't think I'd enjoy them nearly so much. Writing keeps my brain fresh and active in a way that washing muddy shoes or picking grains of rice out of the rug just doesn't. Other moms who are also authors out there know what I'm talking about, I'm sure.
Q: Would you tell us about your current book release, JUDGMENT CALL?
A: JUDGMENT CALL is the fifth book in the ongoing SHARDS OF SEVIA series, a Christian Speculative/Romantic Suspense series. It completes the story that began in FINAL CHANCE, but can also be enjoyed as a standalone. Here's the book description:
Kiva is handsome, generous, and very much in love with recently-widowed Preen Enda. But the thought of becoming his wife fills her with dread—especially when men from her past—men who know too much—begin appearing in her peaceful town. It's only a matter of time before her secrets are revealed. If Kiva learns the truth about what happened to Preen's first husband, will he still want to become her second?
Q: What makes your story unique?
A: Probably the most unique thing about my series (and this story) is the genre—it's so unusual that I'm not sure there's a single term to describe it, but I'm calling it Speculative/Romantic Suspense. Which is a mouthful.
Though I've spent time in some of this world's most troubled places, for these stories, I've chosen to create my own setting, inspired, but not based on, any place I've actually lived. This is partly because I loved the challenge of creating a whole world from scratch, but mainly because some of the major themes in this story, like war and racial hatred, are very sensitive topics. I didn't want to entangle my fiction with real-world conflicts or political issues. Sevia is a place marked by ethnic conflict and violence, but, as you will see when you read the series, a great love story can happen anywhere.
Q: Who would enjoy reading your book?
A: I'm writing for people who love old themes refreshed, a chance to look at the world through very different eyes, and romances with the focus less on how people get together and more on how they stay together.
Q: What inspires you to write?
A. I love making beautiful things; it's a stress reliever and has helped to keep me sane through some challenging periods of life (lockdowns, warfare, sickness, etc.) Writing, whether it's letters, essays, blog posts or stories, is a great way to do this. About four years ago my husband bought me a computer, and then my writing really took off.
In the SHARDS OF SEVIA series, I hope to create characters that young Christian people can identify with, and in some cases even admire and want to imitate. At the very least, I want to give them a wholesome, enjoyable reading experience. When I wrote “Judgment Call,” for example, I tried to create a love story that felt genuine, with characters who are appealing and relatable, who choose to forgive each other's mistakes and respond with grace rather than bitterness. I wrote the kind of love story I’d want to read.
Q: When you’re not writing what do you like to do?
A. Actually, the majority of my life comes under the heading of “Not Writing,” though I really enjoy the times I have a quiet hour or two to capture the next scene in a story. As a housewife and mother, I'm usually busy with cooking, cleaning, and taking care of my children. Sometimes things get a little wild, but I can always settle them down by reading a good story. I also enjoy sewing and gardening.

MY REVIEW
Sofia takes on a hidden identity and disappears from her parents and the life she had. Now Amalia, her life is one of protecting the clients through the K-9 unit. Only, the next client she is assigned to will turn her life upside down and make her question who she really is.
Lots of twists to the plot, high tension circumstances, and an unexpected ending. The story had me engaged from the beginning and the characters were well-developed. Easy to read writing style. This is a story you don't want to miss. Sweet moments, forgiveness, and a road back to God wrap everything up nicely.
I received an ARC from the author and voluntarily choose to review it. All opinions are my own.
