April 11, 2017: State of Affairs

Hey-

It’s been a while since I updated this blog and I felt like it was time to. I figure I’ll go through and update everybody on the various projects of ACC 2017.

The Valley Chronicles: Remastered

This was pushed back a bit but, like the rest of ACC 2017, is still happening. Expect it somewhere over the Summer. I’ve already fixed most of the typos and so all that remains is some rewording here and there and the new stuff for the deluxe edition.

The Valley Chronicles: Quest

About 120,000 words have been written! Expect to see the cover reveal soon, this book is slated for a late Spring/early Summer arrival, with the initial drafting almost complete and subsequent edits expected to take about a month.

Squirrel Academy

Squirrel Academy has successfully launched! The strip has been written and drawn through April and May already! I don’t have a lot of followers yet but with any luck I’ll pick up more along the way.

The Outsiders’ Club

Obviously irrelevant until I finish TVCQ. Outlining has gone well thus far.

The Creativity Co.

The ugly stepchild of the Creativity Co, this project has been plagued by delay after delay and will be further impacted by the impending loss of two of our main cast, Luke Smith and Gaby Stratmann. Honestly unsure whether this project will be able to claim any semblance of success, but I can confirm that I am at least trying to keep it going.

Happy New Year

So, it’s 2017 which means it’s the titular year for ACC 2017. All I can say is– yikes.

2016 was, objectively, a horrible year. I had some low moments, but I’ve also been moving forward and focusing on doing what I love. I announced ACC 2017, which was exciting, but I find myself in a bit of a dry spell recently. I’ve recently gotten over a block on The Valley Chronicles: Quest and I’m still in development stages for the rest of ACC 2017, which leaves me in an awkward place of not having much to show.

(Yes, the Creative Company launched early but it will be a while before regular content.)

So, cautiously optimistic. A bit of a headache. See everyone soon, hopefully.

Honestly I’ve hit a point in my draft where my writing just feels super problematic. All I see is repetitive sentence structure, not enough variety in how I say things, etc. It’s a struggle to pump out a decent chapter.

Not sure what to do.
