Getting The Drama Book Store or any brick and mortar bookstore to stock your self-published play or book
This is post 6 of 9 in the series “Self-Publishing a Stage Play”
I mentioned back in this post that I was a vendor with the Drama Book Shopwhich is one of the largest and most influential theatre bookstores in the world. That means they physically stock some of my plays in their awesome store. This questions asks for some clarification on that:
I just checked the Drama Book Shop’s site and two of my plays (the ones from Amazon) are listed on there. Guess they just picked them up from Amazon...

What’s the deal with sellers listing “used” copies of my newly self-published book?
This is post 5 of 9 in the series “Self-Publishing a Stage Play”
Here’s another one from the mailbag about self-publishing a stage play…
I’ve noticed that on both your sales pages and mine, there are listings for “New” and “Used” copies of our respective books. How can that be if we’re presumably the only publisher? I know I haven’t seen any revenue from these resellers. How did they get their hands on my books without paying me for them?
Once you list your book with a distributor, such as...

Video of Blue Pearl Theatrics’ production of Three Padded Walls
If you missed Three Padded Walls in its runOff Off Broadway, now you’ve got the chance to watch it in full. Blue Pearl Theatrics was kind enough to put a video of the whole performance up on YouTube for your viewing pleasure.
Please note that, while the script itself is clean and contains no swear words, the actors improvise somein the performance you’ll see below so it may not be safe for work.

eBooks, printed books and the format details of selling a self-published stage play
This is post 4 of 9 in the series “Self-Publishing a Stage Play”
Should you publish your play as a printed book or eBook only? What formats should you use? What platforms?Dipping back into the mailbag today for another one of the questions I got on my big post about self-publishing a stage play.
Thanks for your helpful post on my self-publishing question. Would love to know (seeing as how you have a background with Lulu) what format you use to publish (epub, pdf, etc.). I was thinking publi...

This is post 3 of 8 in the series “Self-Publishing a Stage Play”
Once you self-publish a play, how do you get it produced? That’s what we’re talking about with this question from the Mailbag.(In this series, I’m answering some of the questions I got in response to my big post about self-publishing a stage play.)
Great to read your blog on self-publishing plays. We’ve actually got a lot in common when it comes to self-publishing our plays. I’ve sort of put them out there and have just been w...

Expand the reach of your Selling Assistant service by letting clients ship their items to you
This is post 45 of 45 in the series “Sell Their Stuff”
Even if you already offer pick-ups and/or drop-off hours, you may want to expand the reach of your service even farther. Allowing clients to ship their items to you opens your business up in a big way. Now anyone with access to postal mail can be your client, meaning you could offer your SA services on the national or even global level. Of course, local clients may also take advantage of your shipping service, as it may be easier for th...

What keywords should you use when self-publishing a stage play?
This is post 2 of 5 in the series “Self-Publishing a Stage Play”
Keywords are those all-important phrases that lead people to your book whether on the web or in individual marketplaces. They’re important and the focus of this installment of our Self-Publishing a Stage Play series. From the mailbag:
It looks like when you publish a play script (or any kind of book) using CreateSpace, you’re only allowed to use five keywords (meta tags) for it. So, which are the best ones to use for a play sc...
