TDS and IvIn Blog Tour: Day 10

Welcome to Day 10! We’ve got a couple great posts today, a couple summaries for future books,* and I’m fooling around with different formatting stuff.**

I’ve been playing with the fonts on my blog a lot lately, but it’s just not working for me. [image error] And I thought I could do the whole font-changing-thing button,*** but I can’t figure it out.

I think I’d have to buy Business, which is not something I’m willing to do. I should ask Sari … she figured it out … or May. May was like the first person I knew on the Blogosphere to figure it out.

*BECAUSE YOU NEED TO KNOW! The Q&A vlogs will be coming out tomorrow.
**I really don’t know how to do this …
***Oh, shush.

|Today’s Posts|

Sari Briel published a review of TDS and IvIn, author interview.

These reviews … they are so amazing it’s not even funny. They’re just … they’re wonderful. I mean, of course Sari gave me some wonderful critiquing, too, but she was just so amazing with her bullet points and stuff … it was awesome. And 4.5 stars! Gosh, that’s so awesome!

|Discussion|

Today I’m going to be giving you some (non-official) summaries of different books I have planned to write in the near future. (Because obviously this is just what you wanted to read …)

~Adae~

“Every day you will look in the mirror and see that you are not special. You are not talented. You are not beautiful. You are not your sister.”

Adae has always come second to her gorgeous twin sister, Blythe. Second in brains, second in individuality, and second in beauty. The one thing she’s not second in is birth, and even that Blythe threatens to take away from her.

The only thing she has is the magic mirror and the wisdom of the genie within. At first deemed a useless gift which has no power but to reflect, she soon finds that Carmelli, her friend in the reflection, can look within her and reflect her true self.

But will that be enough?

~100 Facts About an Angel~

Every day, Ned brings flowers to the graveyard.

Every day, he finds a mysterious letter containing one fact about his mother.

~Blessing in Disguise (WIP)~

Southern belle Lynn McCullough only married Yankee shipbuilder’s son Clarence Hilton because of her parents’ threat of disinheritance. Exactly why she remained married to him when a simple way out was offered to her is something even she can’t fathom.

There are many other things Lynn can’t understand… like how kind Clarence is to her after being humiliated, insulted, and having personal items defenestrated. However, when Clarence goes off to war, Lynn finds herself missing her husband, and it doesn’t help to be living with a surprisingly non-irritating mother-in-law who keeps pushing her towards a faith she never dreamed of taking as her own.

Note: the Q&A posts will be tomorrow instead of today! Sorry for the delay. I’m simply unable to upload videos at this time.

Until tomorrow (the last day!),

Did you like Sari’s reviews? Enjoy mine blurbs? Are you excited to hear the giveaway winners announced day after tomorrow? Are you excited for the blog tour to be ending and us to get to some normal – but fun – posts? I’m considering a hiatus at some point during this summer … so I don’t know what’s gonna happen.

TDS and IvIn Blog Tour: Day 9

It’s Day 9! That’s right. For nine ENTIRE days I’ve been posting the EXACT. SAME. POST.* and it is sooo boring for everyone involved.

Including myself.

Like, I am so bored with blogging right now. Because it’s the EXACT. SAME. POST.™ **

So I decided to switch it up a little.

*with slight variants (I have little note things! Like May!)
**I’m also stealing various bloggers’ little ™ thing.
***I’m a filch. (And no, there wasn’t a statement that this was related to. This is totally random.

Jesseca Wheaton published a author interview, book spotlight.
Jaylee Morgan wrote a character interview and guest post.
Zielle wrote a review of TDS, review of IvIn.
J.C. Buchanan wrote a review of TDS and IvIn.

Thanks, ladies!

This is our biggest post day, as you can see … and I couldn’t be happier! I love all these posts.

Jesseca published a interview that I really enjoyed. My favorite question was the one about the hymns.

Jaylee published a character interview with our very own Ivy along with a guest post about writer’s block and how to avoid it.

Zielle published a review of both TDS and IvIn. She said some nice things and then some more critical things that helped me think how I could improve.

J.C. also published a review of both TDS and IvIn! And she also said some nice things and some things that were more critical. (And J.C., I want you to know that I agree with you. I’m working on it …)

You can still ask me questions! Just comment below. I’m open for questions on anything … my real life, my writing life, my favorite kind of cookie. You can even ask me real deep questions like, “Whuz up, man?” Because all teenagers seem to think it’s the pinnacle of coolness. *eye roll*
Interested in reviewing? I’m looking for people to review my books on Amazon, Goodreads, or their blog. Because whenever a review is posted, an author gets her wings. #truestory You can sign up here.

TDS and IvIn Blog Tour: Day 8

Hello! Welcome to day 8! I can’t believe we’ve been doing this for over a week now.  *dances* I wish I had something exciting to do here …

I should just talk about random stuff.

Watching soccer is like watching people eat. “Yep, went down to McDonald’s today … watched my little brother finishing off a hamburger … he totally swallowed the whole thing ….”
There should be “All Lives Matter.” ‘Cause they do.
The “I Love Cats” video is still funny. It probably always will be.

And … that is all. Moving on ….

TDS and IvIn Blog Tour: Day 7

Good morning, ladies and gents! We’ve only got a little less than a week of blog tour to go … and though that is sad (I want people to keep on talking about me – I mean, my books – forever), it’s also good that soon I’ll be back to my normal posting schedule.

A couple things I forgot to say before:

I’m going to announcing both the giveaway winners and one other thing (that is important … and hush-hush just now, so shhh!) on Saturday morning (as early as possible, though it may drift into afternoon knowing me).

Also, if you have a burning desire for a signed paperback copy of one of my books, that is a possibility (if you’re in the US; I can’t ship out of country). It costs just a couple dollars more than a paperback would cost you on Amazon + shipping and handling.

So #expensive. I’m thinking about $15 for TDS or IvIn and $12 for TLOTV. But I need to work on it. I’d like to charge less, but I have to pay to have them shipped here then pay to ship them to you … which is expensive.

Today’s Posts Are By …

Anika Joy @ This Journey Called Life (review of TDS and IvIn)
Maddy @ Girls Living for God’s Glory (book spotlight)

Anika wrote a wonderful series review while Maddy put together a great book spotlight. Thanks, ladies! You don’t know how thankful I am to have you on the tour!

TDS and IvIn Blog Tour: Day 6

Here I am on this glorious (103 degree) Sunday afternoon, writing this post and wishing I was in England. Where 80 degrees is a heat wave, according to one of my English friends. Or Scotland. I’d rather be in Scotland than England, to be honest. Or Ireland. Either one.

Seriously, though, I don’t mind the heat. It isn’t accompanied by tremendous humidity here like in some states, so it’s not unbearable. It’s great for swimming (even though I’ve yet to swim this year, haha).

Today we have a vlog (yippy?! It made this post ridiculously late because it takes ten years to upload, but that’s all right …), and I’ll also be talking a little bit about my plans for spin-off short stories/novellas for this series.

Today’s Post Is …

A character interview and spotlight by Dani Eide @ Perspective of a Writer

Dani has really been amazing. She managed to make this (somewhat stressed) author feel confident that everything would go right. She offered to take a day which I had no blogger on. She asked me (or rather Nettie) a bunch of interesting questions. She created a gorgeous spotlight that really gives you a good idea about who Nettie is as a person.

So thank you, Dani! It was so wonderful to have you on the tour!

Giveaway

By entering this giveaway, you might win a paperback copy of both The Dressmaker’s Secret and Ivy Introspective (US only) or an ebook copy of the same novels (International). You can enter here!

Stuff to Do

Sign up to receive notifications when signups are open for a new tour.
Submit your questions (in the comments).
Signup to receive a free ebook copy of either book in exchange for review.

The Books:

The Dressmaker’s Secret: AmazonGoodreadsBarnes&Nobles, and Createspace.

Ivy Introspective: Amazon and Goodreads. (Still not on paperback.) Patience, young … person … who could be old, too, I guess …

I’m also working on getting my books on some other channels like Kobo and iBooks. Which is exciting. (Thanks to the Clean Indie Reads book for educating me on expanded distribution, etc.)

Let’s Talk About Spin-offs

It’s no secret to anyone here that I love the characters of The Chronicles of Alice and Ivy. They are some of my favorite people in the world (which is sad, as they are in fact fictional, but moving on).

And, when an author is attached to certain characters but her series arc doesn’t allow her to write about them, she starts thinking spin-off!

More specifically, I’m thinking of The Chronicles of Alice and Ivy, #s 0.3, 0.5, 2.5, 3.5, 4.5, and … others.

It’s somewhat complicated. I explained about it a little in this vlog:

So yes. Now you know about Sail Away. Well, a little more. I may have talked about it before …

But what are my other ideas? Well, one is called 100 Facts About an Angel. It’s about Ned Knight. (If you have a guess about what it’s about, comment! If someone gets remotely close, I’m going to give you an ebook copy for TDS. Because you deserve it.)

Then there will be a book about a certain character of AFOP (At Her Fingertips) who didn’t get a happy ending. And needs one. *sobs*

Basically, there may be a lot of these stories and some of them will be for this blog/my newsletter only, and some may be published. We’ll see. (And yes, you can ask me about them in the comments because I can’t keep my mouth shut …)

And … that’s it for today!

Thanks for reading,

~Kellyn Roth~

p.s.

What did you think of Dani’s character interview/spotlight? I thought it was splendid! Did you enjoy Nettie’s answers? (She’s pretty straight-forward, so it wasn’t too exciting.) My favorite part was making up (er, recounting) an incident from Alice’s earlier childhood. I’ve always wanted to write about a toddler Alice …

TDS and IvIn Blog Tour: Day 5

It’s release day! *excited dancing*

You can now purchase IvIn in Kindle. (Not that I expect you to, but that it is a possibility.) Paperback may take a while to get out, perhaps upwards of a couple days, but it will eventually. (Sorry for the delay … once again, busyness abounds!)

For the release day, not a ton of stuff is happening, although there is a Facebook party (though it may be over by the time you see this). This is an even briefer post than normal, actually … it’s mostly to announce today’s bloggers and inform you of the publication!

However, I’m hopefully going to be sending out a newsletter (*gasp*) and posting on Reveries Reviews later today. So there’s that. #lamesauce

Today’s Posts Are …

An author interview by May Everly @ Forever and Everly
An author interview by Zane Jones @ Simple Impossibilities

Thank you, May and Zane for posting two gorgeous author interviews today!

I love how May formatted the post … and the questions she asked! I really let myself be a little more fun this time, and May made it that much better with a couple well-placed GIFs, etc. The Mango Queen never fails to amaze me.

Zane’s post looks so classic and neat … I really love it! It was great how she gives you all the information without rambling on and on (like I generally do). Really, Zane has such a professional, minimalistic blog … I love it!

TDS and IvIn Blog Tour: Day 4

Day 4 has finally arrived, and today I’ve made some slight changes in the way this tour will be running. So, without further ado, I’ll be telling you about them. Because I don’t believe in keeping poor, innocent readers waiting.

Vlogs will be every other day instead of every day. I’m sorry, but don’t you think that would be too many vlogs otherwise? Also, all the posts would be three years late (instead of just two …)! So, there will be a post today, Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday (which will be a wrap-up/exciting announcements post).

The Q submissions for the Q&A post will be wrapping up next Tuesday, the 27th. Hopefully, the Q&A video will be posted on the 29th. Which … I guess is what I originally planned, now that I think about. But I needed another announcement. ‘Cause I said “announcements.” XD

Other than that, nothing has really changed. The schedule has some minor edits, but that shouldn’t cause anyone too much bother.

Today’s Posts Are …

An author interview by Jordy @ Jordy Leigh
Reviews of TDS and IvIn by Tonya @ Literary Musings

Jordy asked me some great questions, ones that made really think like, “How did producing these stories change you as a person?” … and she added a gorgeous book spotlight (which was a nice surprise!).

And Tonya wrote two beautiful reviews. My favorite quotes are …

“I always look for characters that I feel like could be real people – Kellyn provides those characters.” ~Review of TDS

“I was blown away by Kellyn’s writing.” ~Review of IvIn

It was immensely flattering, to say the least!

Vlog

Here’s today’s vlog! The sounds a little off, and there is much giggling and hysteric laughing and rambling, but … I think you’ll like it. If you’re patient enough to listen through all 9 minutes 26 seconds. It really is sweet how Bailey is willing to this kind of thing for me all the time.

TDS and IvIn Blog Tour: Day 3

Duh-duh-duuuuuh! It’s day 3! I’m afraid the vlog will be out a little late today (I’ll add it to this post and then publish it on my social media as soon as I can), but the rest is up and running for your enjoyment.

Although … I’m not sure “up and running” is the correct terminology to use. I mean, it’s not a machine … unless it’s a Blog Machine instead of a Blog Tour. Ooh, I like that! “ We’re made up of many parts, and some are more oiled that others … specifically, the engine isn’t running ….” #SameYourselfSaturdayOnAThursday

I really need to stop beating up on poor little Kell Bell. She’s such a sweetie, and she doesn’t deserve it. *refers to self in third person*

Today’s Post Is …

A review of IvIn and an author interview by Leona @ Great Books for God’s Girls

Leona wrote a short but concise review (four stars! Yay!) and made me think about why I write adults the way I do (assuming I have reason, y’know, and I like to think my brain isn’t totally random), and then she also interviewed me with some great questions. So hop over there and check them out!

There were supposed to be two other posts, but they dropped out last minute.

The Vlog

Today’s vlog will be a character spotlight of Ivy … through the eyes of none other than Miss Bailey Ray, Kellyn’s dear friend.

It will hopefully amuse you. Because we didn’t cut anything (well, almost anything) out. And if it doesn’t amuse you, it will annoy you.

Anyways, as I said, the vlog will be coming out later this evening (well … tonight … it’s already 8 in Oregon) or early tomorrow. Sorry for the delay!

{Coming Soon!}

And we’re back to ramble about this again. Remember, by entering this giveaway, you might win a paperback copy of both The Dressmaker’s Secret and Ivy Introspective (US only) or an ebook copy of the same novels (International). You can sign up here!

I’ll also be drawing one of the names from my newsletter list for the winner’s choice of ebooks – TDS, IvIn, or TLOTV.

Signups and Such

The signups to receive an ebook copy of The Dressmaker’s Secret or Ivy Introspective in exchange for a review on Amazon, Goodreads, or your blog are now open. You can sign up here.

Also, for blogger, if you’re interested in receiving notifications every time I have signups open for a new blog tour, you can sign up here.

Question Submissions

So. If you want to ask me a question (no matter how stupid it may be) to be answered in my Q&A vlog at the end of the tour, just comment below with the question (or questions). Be sure to mark it as a Q&A question.

I’ll try to post this vlog (or vlogs) on the 29th. Therefore, the last day to submit questions is the 27th.

Facebook Party

Yes, that’s right! There’s actually going to be a Facebook party on the 24th. You can find it here. Be sure to join in if you’re on Facebook.

Remember the Books!

The Dressmaker’s Secret: Amazon, Goodreads, Barnes&Nobles, and Createspace.

Ivy Introspective: Amazon and Goodreads.

Thanks for reading, and may your days be summery What? I’m seeing if one of my friends will read this and get angry ’cause she’s a #summerhater

~Kellyn Roth~

Facebook | Goodreads | Bloglovin’ | Pinterest | Amazon | Google+ | Newsletter

p.s.

What do you think of summer? Do you prefer the heat or the cold? What’s the weather like there?

Well, the tour is really getting going now! We’ve had a couple people who are now unable to post for various reasons, but nothing too traumatic has happened, and we’re all still alive. I think. I don’t talk to all the participants on a regular basis, so … I guess some could technically be dead … and I wouldn’t know it … maybe they’re dropping like flies … it sometimes seems like that.

No. No, I don’t often rant morbidly …

TDS and IvIn Blog Tour: Day 2

Annnnnd it’s Day 2! *everyone celebrates* *dancing in the streets* *salsa splashes everywhere* *its a salsa party*

I … have no idea what any of that was about. So … yeah. Lots of .. salsa. I don’t even like salsa. #hatestomatoes #notaspicyperson

So, today we have a couple fun posts, an informative vlog (don’t worry; they all won’t be information-packed; there will be some funness, too), and all the other stuff. And I finally remember to mention something else that I’d intended to mention earlier. *facepalm*

And Today’s Posts Are …

-Faith Blum @ Bookish Orchestrations (author interview)

I loved answering Faith’s questions because it gave me a chance to be all professional (I don’t know why; I just felt like being professional that day) … or y’know, as professional as I can be. She asked some great questions that really made me think.

TDS and IvIn Blog Tour: Day 1

Hello, all! Welcome to day 1 of the blog tour of Ivy Introspective and The Dressmaker’s Secret. I can’t believe there are only four days until the book launch!

Today you can pre-order Ivy Introspective on Kindle while The Dressmaker’s Secret is available in both paperback and Kindle on Amazon (though print may take a while to update). It’s also on Goodreads.

So yep. I decided to put TDS out early. It just didn’t make sense to wait to release when you could be buying it all blog tour long. (Um … did I just say that? No, I didn’t. That was some random person who hacked my account and was mercenary …)

And Today’s Post Is …

-Lana @ The Music of Words (book and character spotlight)

I love how Lana did the book and character spotlights! Both are so beautiful and professional … they’re practically works of art! When I read them, I got excited, ran down the hall, tripped on a vacuum cleaner nozzle, and almost died. And then couldn’t figure out if ‘nozzle’ was actually a word or not. So yep.

Here’s a quote from Lana’s post (about Jordy):

Jordy is so awesome, it’s almost worth reading the book just for him. I say “almost” because he only stars in a few short scenes, to my sorrow…

Thank goodness for Beyond Her Calling and him being a main character, right? (By the way, I’m hoping to publish Beyond Her Calling towards the end of 2018. Maybe. We’ll see.)

There was going to be another post, but I’m afraid we had to move it to tomorrow.

The Vlog

Which explains some of the fun stuff coming up!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NwvAQpu6jqk

(For some reason Stupid WordPress of Stupidness™ is not letting me imbed this. So … I don’t know why, but you have to follow the link. Maybe next time I’ll figure out how to embed it … because it’s always just automatically embed before …)

And … after I finished creating that vlog, I realized I’d made a huge mistake. In that video, I refer to The Dressmaker’s Secret as book 2 and Ivy Introspective as book 3.

So … forgive my stumbling & mumbling, won’t you? I am most sorry!

To be or not to be … that is the question …

That’s right! I’m doing another Q&A! (Because that’s obviously the conclusion you came to … from that Hamlet quote …) Bailey won’t be helping with this one, though … because she has a life. She may be participating in one of my vlogs, though. We’ll see.

Anyways, if you have a question to ask me (even if it’s just, “Why do you keep doing boring Q&As?”), you can submit them here.
