WIP Wednesday - To Protect and Service: Righteous Fury
Too close of an encounter of the naughty kind:
Despite the thrill of fear coursing through her veins, Kimi sneered. “I don’t remember putting you in charge of my life.” Laaruu’s amiable expression was surface dressing. He appeared downright heartless despite the unwavering façade. It made her insides twist, and not in an entirely unpleasant way. The snarl in his voice fed her belief that he intended any kindness. “Since you’ve apparently abdicated rule over yourself, I shall take up the challenge.” His grip was too loose. Kimi wasn’t being harmed, not even really overpowered. Despite Laaruu’s size and strength, Kimi thought she might be able to take him—if her drunkenness didn’t impair her too badly. She turned up the bluster. “Get your hands off me. I have no problem causing you a whole lotta hurt, asshole.” Laaruu tsked her as he reached into the pocket of the chambray shirt he wore. “You’re offering me pain? How rude of you since I wished to offer you pleasure.” He stepped back, releasing her. He pulled his hand out of his pocket and held it out. Kimi blinked at the round black object in his palm. It looked like a button to her. Tiny insect legs sprouted from its sides. It jumped from Laaruu’s hand, landing on her bare foot. Kimi yelped and tried to shake it off. “What the hell is that?” The thing was on the move before she got the sentence out, little legs scrabbling. It raced up her leg, beneath her sweat pants. The fucker was fast and no matter how she slapped at it, it kept crawling up. It slipped into her panties. Kimi shrieked as it landed on and grasped her clit. Her scream was cut cleanly off as intense pleasure filled her. Her knees turned to water. Laaruu grabbed her before she could collapse, and he lowered her gently to the floor. Over the roar in her ears, she heard him say, “There now. On the floor before me as you should be. That’s much better.” Desire filled her with stomach-clenching force. She shoved her sweatpants down, not caring about Laaruu standing there, not caring because what was about to happen would be far worse than him seeing her cunt. She had to get that button-bug thing off her before— Too late. Climax stampeded through her, setting her entire body alight. She came perhaps the hardest ever, bent into a ball at Laaruu’s feet as incredible spasms pulsed, clenching her pussy over and over. She was helpless to do anything but shudder with unspeakable pleasure.

Worlds Collide: A Taste of Risnar

He stared at her, fixated on the triangle of soft curls, on the wet cleft revealed by her parted thighs. God, he was going to feel so good there, with that thick cock.
Velia decided to take advantage of his momentary pause. She was careful but determined as she tugged on his shaft, entreating him to join her on the bed. “Lie down. I’m not finished with you yet.”
“All-Spirit, this is madness,” he moaned, but he obeyed, crashing onto the bed, as if his knees had given out. He attempted a wavering grab in her direction, as if he was too confused to know what he would do with her.
Nope. Velia had him off balance, unsure of what to do next. Jape usually moved decisively, even if he wasn’t confident in his actions. His uncertainty was a chance she couldn’t pass up. She was in charge of this situation, and she would make the most of that.
She slipped through his hands, eluding him even when his fingers elongated in the attempt to snare her. Velia executed a little hop over his thick log of a leg, ending up crouching between his thighs. Holding on to his erection, she grinned up at him. “This thing isn’t poisonous, is it?”
“Oh. You want to—but I should—” He shook his head at her, rendered speechless again. He looked confounded.
“Jeez, Stripes, you act as if a woman has never wantedsex with you before.”
Then again, he had a lot of moments when he behaved like a jerk. He’d probably scared all the ladies off. Maybe Velia could screw him into having more respect for her gender.
Speaking of which…
She licked up the length of his golden cock. Smooth. Hot against her tongue. Salty and sweet.“Damn, Stripes. You taste good,” she said.
His head fell back on the bed. He groaned at the ceiling and said something her translator had no equivalent for.
Nice. She was a hit at this on two worlds.
Engineer Velia Farrah always wanted to see an alien up close. Now that she’s assigned to study the top secret portal linking Earth to other worlds, she’ll get her chance. But when a fierce, gold-skinned alien from Risnar leaps from the portal and whisks her back to his home planet, “up close” takes on a whole new meaning.
Believing Earthlings had killed his fellow warriors, Jape Bolep is determined to destroy Earth’s access to Risnar once and for all. Grabbing a curvy handful of a human wasn’t part of the plan, but he has no intention of letting her distract him from his need for vengeance—no matter how much he aches to make her his.
Both are ready to do battle over right and wrong and good and evil, and their combustible relationship burns hotter than the sun's surface. But distrust and treachery from all sides leave Velia and Jape in a fight against their own people to keep each other alive—and to ultimately save both Earth and Risnar from total destruction.

Worlds Collide: Appendages

His comment made her laugh. As he gave her that disarming grin again, she laughed harder.Damn, he can be charming when he tries.
“You’re a fearsome fellow, Stripes. Not what I had in mind for my first contact.”
He dropped his gaze, as if he found it hard to look at her. They kept playing.
Velia reckoned it to be almost an hour later when he shouted in triumph. She applauded him.
“Fun game. Thanks for indulging me.”
“You did well for your first attempt. I should be thanking you. Both for playing and answering my questions.”
Heartened by his companionable mood, Velia crooked an eyebrow at him. “Care to reciprocate? I wouldn’t mind finding out more about the fascinating Risnarish species.”
Jape sat back and regarded her, his expression friendly. “Ask.”
“You grew tails. You made them disappear.”
“Jealous?” Jape teased. “Do you wish you could form appendages according to need?”
“Ah. Appendages.” Her face warmed. Did she dare pursue her curiosity?
“Appendages.” He appeared merrier still, no doubt enjoying her discomfort.

Friday Fiver Challenge
Five sentences from the fifth chapter of a Kalquor universe book. This is another toughie! Good luck.
“Do you want to kill off the Empire? We’re just four years out of our war with Earth. We took a hell of a beating. The only way we could possibly fight another war is to put younglings not even of clanning age on the front lines.”
“The Earthers did it.”

Warriors of Risnar: Worlds Collide Q & A

A: It’s not so great for a couple of our characters. There’s an anti-Earthling movement starting in the village of Cas, the setting for the previous book, Worlds Apart. Proof that there are certain factions of Earth in league with the Monsuda have some of the Risnarish tense.
Q: Are there any familiar characters returning?
A: Jape, the head enforcer of Cas, is our hero this time. Also returning are Arga from the first book of the series Not of This World and the head of the Elders Council, Ehar. We see Salno and the Bonch Efno as well. And Snim is bringing his brew!
Q: Who’s the lucky lady playing the heroine?
A: An engineer contracted by the military, Velia Farrah. She’s a spitfire who gives Grumpy Stripes—her nickname for Jape—all he can handle.
Q: Is it love at first sight for Velia and Jape? Or a slow simmer?
A: Neither. They’re at odds with each other from the start, but with an attraction that makes things sizzle despite all their attempts to maintain mutual dislike. After a while, they begin to figure out they’ve got real enemies to deal with, and they have much more in common than they thought. Then the real fireworks explode.
Q: Any surprises we should know about?
A: I’m known probably best for a D/s vibe in my romances, with the female enjoying being dominated. This has quite a bit less of that direction, with the sexual play on a more equal footing. The hero and heroine switch back and forth as to who’s in charge in the bedroom. It’s a rather interesting situation, since Jape is pretty intense and used to being in control in most aspects of his life, and Velia’s history is filled with doing as she’s told. They’re learning it’s okay to go in the opposite directions of what they were taught.
Q: What else should we know about Velia and Jape?
A: They have to cope with having their faith in authority figures badly shaken and realizing sometimes those in power don’t deserve the automatic faith they’re given.

The astonishment in her expression was replaced by growing fear. No woman had ever looked at Jape with fright before. He was a bolep, an enforcer and warrior, charged with keeping others safe. Although he’d failed in that task spectacularly three months before, he still saw himself as the kind of man who defended the vulnerable. That this delicate creature thought he would consider harming her was a blow to his pride.
Why do you care if she fears you? Most Earthlings have proven themselves to be untrustworthy. She doesn’t know you. She’s projecting what she herself could be guilty of.
Still, he couldn’t cope with the failure of his mission and her cringing at the same time. The pod would take care of itself now that it was on its way to its destination, allowing Jape to ignore the vessel’s workings. He could focus on his unintended passenger.
He folded his arms over his chest and snorted at the Earthling. He spoke loud enough for the ship’s translator program to decipher for her. “I will not harm you. I will return you to your planet as soon as I can.”
She blinked to hear her language spoken in his deep, carrying voice. Her alarm edged down a notch, and she spoke in a husky alto that thrummed through Jape’s gut. “Why did you kidnap me in the first place?”
The golden flecks in her eyes were a match for the portal passage’s flickers in the windows. They flashed brighter as she spoke. Fires of her spirit, strong despite her uncertainty. Jape swallowed.“You weren’t supposed to be there.”

Monday Motivation

Ah, but those failures weren't mere losses. They weren't the end of the world (though they felt like they were when they happened). They were all stepping stones to get me where I am now. They were proof that I was trying. I learned from them.
Relationship failures happened. I'm now happily married to a guy who's been there for me for over 22 years. Education failures happened. Despite not finishing the second college round, I got work in my field anyway, because sometimes it's what you know and not the piece of paper you hold. Financial failures happened, more than once. I don't live like a Rockefeller, but I paid off my house within nine years and am currently debt free. I failed at various jobs, even was fired. I now do the work I feel I was born to do and make a living at it.
I fail. But I don't give up. And though it might take more time to see the results I want, I get better each year. And that leads to success, in the long (sometimes very long) run. But I get there. You will too. Failure by failure, you'll build up to your success.
