Friday Fiver Challenge
Five sentences from the fifth chapter of a Kalquor universe book. Can you name it?
“She triggered the gas. She can’t back out far enough to get out of my reach now. Three-two-one. And it’s nap time for our little girl.”

TBT: Clan and Conscience

Jol seethed. “You’re an idiot a million times over. I’ve never met anyone less deserving of the breaks he’s been given. There would be little shame if I failed to keep a fool such as you alive.”
The twinges of fear Ospar had experience as he’d confronted the security guard disappeared in a hot wash of rage. He stormed across the floor, to confront Jol nose-to-nose. “Is that a threat?”
The Nobek’s voice turned low and deadly. “Don’t flatter yourself that you’re worth the effort. Get out of my space. Eat your food and wallow in your ego.”
His words reminded Ospar that he still held his ruined meal in his hand. Too angry to think straight, he snarled, “It’s garbage now. That makes it more fitting for you. Enjoy.” With that, he shoved the tray in Jol’s face, covering the dark features in sauce and small chunks of meat and vegetables.
There was a long moment of shocked silence from both men. Ospar stopped breathing. What had he done?
He didn’t have an instant to consider the matter. The Nobek shrieked, the sound crazed. It was the most horrific cry Ospar had ever heard. When the tray dropped from Jol’s face, Ospar didn’t see the red and yellow and green sauces that dripped from his chin. He didn’t see morsels of rizpah and chafga sliding down the man’s visage. He saw a monster with glaring eyes. He saw madness. He saw fangs.
It would come as little solace later when Ospar realized no rational person could have looked at Jol’s livid expression and not panicked. The Dramok’s anger had led to him taking temporary leave of his senses, but Ospar was thoroughly sane as he stared at the terrible creature screaming at him.
He lost control and ran.
No! No! You never run from an angry Nobek!
Even as his legs pumped, barreling him out of the room and down the hall, Ospar realized his colossal error. A deadly error. Every Kalquorian knew it. Fearing the worst, Ospar darted a glance over his shoulder and wished that he hadn’t.

WIP Wednesday: Righteous Fury
The alien man stopped an arms-length distance from her. His gaze went to the curtained tub/shower combination, its clean, white surface well-illuminated by a skylight. He nodded towards it. “Get in and cleanse yourself.” “Fine. Just give me some privacy,” she insisted. Kimi could have gone in and locked the door behind herself, but she didn’t want him breaking it down. She also didn’t want to test whether or not he could operate that clit killer without a sightline. “You’ll be naked before me. Not just your body, but all of it.” He looked her over with appreciation. “I’ll enjoy seeing everything. Besides, as you Earth types say, I’ve shown you mine. Now you show me yours.” Kimi snarled. Laaruu said something in his odd language, and she braced herself. Instead of horrific pain driving her to her knees, it was incredible pleasure that put her onto the cool tile floor. Ribbons of ecstasy wove through her clit, reaching deep into her pussy, all the way into her stomach. She writhed on the floor, rubbing her thighs together and reaching for her cunt even though she knew she wouldn’t feel anything save for whatever the clit simulator offered. It took her to the brink of climax and held her there, not allowing her to get off. It made her crazy with longing. Laaruu stepped over her, going to the shower and turning it on. He held his hand under the spray, waiting for it to warm while he watched her trying to rub her covered clit. He chuckled as her attempts grew more desperate. “Nothing will help you but to be a good girl for me,” he advised, withdrawing his hand from the shower and shaking off water droplets. She didn’t resist as he pulled her clothes off. Kimi had the wild hope he’d fuck her, right there on the bathroom floor. She needed the relief, relief only a fat cock in her pussy and a hand on her clit might afford. His claim that she’d beg him for sex didn’t seem so ludicrous now. In fact, it sounded like a damned good idea with violent desire riding her. Waves of brutal arousal pulsed through her sex, devouring her senses.

Monday Motivation

It's taken a lot of years and a lot of heartache to do better. Yet I've finally reached the point where when I recognize I've wandered down a dead-end path, I can walk away. It still bothers me, but I know it's best for my life. And when I look back a year or so later, I find I often feel relief that I let it go when I did. I discover I did much better to concentrate on something more rewarding.
Yes, if it's a dream your being screams for, don't give up on it. But when the situation hurts more than it heals, it could be time to close that door and open a new one. Start again with something (or someone) new and be happy.

Clan Companions: Joseph Q&A

A: There have been mentions of Earther men on Kalquor in a few of CoK and Beginnings books, which readers responded to. They wanted to know how those relationships were happening and turning out. In particular, a lot of them were asking about Captain Joseph Walker and Nobek Almon following Alien Caged, where those two first appeared. They were dying for a happily-ever-after for that pair.
Q: How does this start out?
A: Joseph has served his sentence in a facility for mentally ill Imdikos. He was placed there in the hopes he could be rehabilitated from the severe emotional issues he had that led to him captaining a rogue battlecruiser that took Kalquorian prisoners after the Earth-Kalquor war had ended.
Q: And Nobek Almon waited for him?
A: Almon not only waited for him, but he gave up his fleet career to stay close to Joseph. It turns out Almon has some emotional hurt in his background as well, and he’s determined to have the relationship he feels he can forge with Joseph.
Q: But? There’s always a ‘but’.
A: But Joseph still has a phobia about living his sexual orientation openly. Not only that, Almon is not the only Nobek who is certain Joseph is the love of his life.
Q: Is there a rival for Joseph’s attentions?
A: Not so much a rival as a stalker. Someone else has decided he should be Joseph’s Nobek, and he’s ready to go to the extreme to make it happen
Q: What else should readers know about this book?
A: It’s shorter than what they’re used to from me, but it packs in a lot of action and steam.
Q: What’s up next? What are you working on now?
A: I’m working on the follow-up to Ravenous Virtue, which is titled Righteous Fury. It’s been a long time coming to get that book done, which falls under the dark erotica umbrella. Then I plan to write another book that’s been a long time coming, the second of the First Mataras series (Michaela was the first). It’s not titled yet, but the events occur on a space station shortly after Amelia Ryan starts her adventure with Clan Rajhir. Another woman has to cope with the fallout from that and other events when she meets a clan in crisis.

Joseph’s heart hammered as Almon tugged him into the sleeping space. The terror returned, screaming in his head that not only was he going to give himself to such a huge man, but everyone would know what they’d done. While Joseph recognized the ridiculousness of his paranoia on a planet where homosexual love was the norm, his psyche railed against it. His control over that hysteria was nothing less than heroic as Almon stopped beside the sleeping mat and drew Joseph close. The Nobek’s kiss was searing, and Joseph couldn’t help but respond, his cock filling with heat as Almon’s tongue searched and found his. However, it required effort to return the kiss and force himself to remain pliant as Almon ran his hands down his spine and cupped his ass. The Nobek’s palms smoothed their way up Joseph’s back again. He clutched handfuls of the soft, sapphire shirt he’d bought for his lover. He pulled it over Joseph’s head, baring the trim, toned torso. Quicker than thought, Almon shed his shirt too and pressed his hot, muscled flesh against Joseph. Such a behemoth, overwhelming in bulk and strength, dwarfing the Earther. Almon could do whatever he wished. He could overpower him. He could force him to his will, no matter how Joseph fought him. Too big. Too much! Joseph shrank from the larger male, pushing against the solid chest and taking a panicked step away. Almon stiffened and held his upper arms in an iron grip. “Don’t run, boy. Don’t you dare.” Joseph froze at the hectic purple stare drilling into him from above, better sense halting him from flight. As afraid as he was over what was about to happen, it would be worse should he arouse Almon’s predatory instincts. Nobeks couldn’t help but chase down fleeing prey. What happened when they caught their quarry—well, every Earther had heard the stories.
