Let God Do the Heavy-Lifting (Matthew 11)
Whether you are joining us for the sugar fast, or not, I hope this devotional (from the 40 Day Sugar Fast) will inspire you to trade the heaviness you are carrying for a lighter load. You are so loved by God, just as you are. But since He loves you so much, He invites you to lay down the burdens you are carrying and cast them upon His most capable shoulders.
From Heavyweight to LightweightCome to Me, all who are weary and heavily burdened [by religious rituals that provide no peace], and I...

As we prepare to celebrate Christmas, my friends, Jen and Jeremy, from Charis Seed Photography, have put together a stunning Advent series. The series combines their one-of-a-kind photography with stirring devotional reflections.

Give It A Rest: Receive the Gift You’ve Been Refusing
I like to get things done. I find deep satisfaction in checking things off my to-do list. But sometimes the best thing I can do is leave some things undone, and even allow myself to be undone.
That’s where this modern-Martha found herself a few weeks ago. It felt like I was walking through molasses, or sticky tar, whichever one makes you think of moving in slow motion and it being difficult to put one foot in front of the other.

How “This Is Us” Gives Words to My Feelings as an Adoptive Parent

As Thanksgiving nears, we are grateful for so much, especially the life of our Strong One and how he fills our family with joy and opportunities to grow.
One day he announced, “Mom, I am not antagonizing and you’re a genius.” His vocabulary impresses us on the regular.
When we asked him what he was learning at school, he said, “T...

Daughter Song DeliveryDiscouragement and loneliness were unfortunate companions against a chilly November sky. I pushed the sanctuary door open, with a sigh.
My friend was waiting for me. Before we began the much-anticipated project, I named the heaviness tethered to my heart.
She listened.
Unfiltered, I poured out t...
