Holy Cow!
Have I been neglecting this space or what? That's just unacceptable. First off, I hope your family is safe. Second, happy belated new year.
In case you never or rarely visit it, please do check out my website. I'm trying to blog more and use it as an avenue of communication. You can even see sneak peeks of my current projects.
What else? Oh, no signings so far this year. Which sucks but is to be expected. I miss meeting readers and other authors. I'm such an introvert, but all this staying at home is finally making me a bit nostalgic for the social anxiety of hundreds of people packed into a hotel ballroom. Ha!
Anyway, take care out there. And I promise to update my Goodreads blog more often!

Dark and Bright Announcement!
It's finally here, booklovers. My latest series, Dark and Bright, is available for pre-order for only $1.99,; order now and get it on February 1. This book is a bit of a departure for me. It's a bit darker. Not strictly YA. I'm super excited for all of you to read it!
--------------------------
WE ALL HAVE SOMETHING INSIDE THAT YEARNS TO BREAK FREE . . .
Caroline Franx lives in isolation because her father, a world-renowned geneticist, worries about her fragile health. Despite having everything her heart desires, her days are sometimes lonely and tedious. Sacrificing a normal life for safety never bothered her until she meets a handsome gardener who makes her want to experience the world beyond the confines of her home.
Ethan Ramirez is no gardener. He’s at the Franx estate to unearth the atrocities his team is certain the good doctor is committing and bring those crimes into the light of day. The pretty Caroline seems like an angel, but Ethan soon wonders if she’s cloistered on the estate for her protection or for everyone else’s.
NOTE: Please be advised this book has content that may be upsetting for assault survivors. Recommended for mature readers, 16 and older.

New Science Fiction Release!
The first book in my next series will be released in February 2019. I'm so excited for all of you to read this one, because it's a bit of a departure for me. Dark and Bright was inspired by the classic story, Frankenstein. I wondered, what would that tale be like in modern times and what if the monster was a teenaged girl? Read on for the blurb.

Whitewood on KU!
I've been asked multiple times if any of my books are on Amazon's Kindle Unlimited. At one point, my Earthborn Series was, but I took it off after about a year...for many reasons. In the interim, the question kept coming from readers at book signings and it seemed to me like the time had come to give KU another go. So, I've put my award-nominated Whitewood Journals books on KU. You can start the series here.
Happy reading!

I'm Tired, You?
Whew! What a summer. Busy for so many reasons. I'm looking forward to autumn, how about you? Life isn't exactly calm during that season, but it's my favorite. I love everything about it, not to mention my creative juices get flowing!
I have an ambitious writing schedule ahead of me, but I'm happy to say that by February 2019, all three of my series will be done, which means it's on to the next big thing...magic. Look for some announcements in December!
And before I forget, if you're interested in reading free chapters from my current projects, getting free short stories, and accessing exclusive content, visit my Patreon page.

You Rebel
If you live in the DMV (District, Maryland, and Virginia, for the uninitiated), I'll be at Rebels Hit the Road on February 10, in Baltimore. The event is heavy on the romance genres, so it's the perfect place to find your Valentine's Day read. I hope to see you there!

Low Expectations
I'm seriously impressed by people who have reading challenge numbers like 100, 200, 300, and more. I joined the challenge late in the game last year, and committed to 10. I barely made it under the wire. It's kind of embarrassing that I'm an author and I can only manage 10 books in a year. (hides face) To my credit, I'm only counting new books, not re-reads. People tell me I can count those, but it seems like cheating. Ha!
This year, I doubled down on the reading challenge: 20. We'll see if I make it. Still seems like low expectations though. Maybe I need extra motivation. Cookies? Booze? Hmmm...
