Flora’s First Flower
Flora’s First Flower
©️Hemdiva Dev
Once upon a time there was a pretty little girl named Flora, like her name, she loved flowers. She planted many plants all around her house and waited impatiently for the flowers to grow. She took care of the small plants, by placing them in shade when the sun was hot, by bringing them indoors when it snowed, by keeping them under a roof when it rained heavily.
She talked to the plants, sang to them and even read them stories. It was so much fun.
But many days passed and she never saw the first flower, not even a bud. Flora never lost hope, she knew there would soon be flowers. That her hard work would pay. She just continued taking care of the flowers.
Than one fine day, she woke up early in the morning and looked out of her window. There, in between those green leaves, she saw green rounded part. Flora’s mom congratulated her for it was a bud. Soon it would bloom to become a flower.
Flora jumped with joy and danced with happiness.
Two days flew by and the bud seemed to open a bit. Flora stood by her window the whole day, observing the bud with her heart. Soon the moon came up high in the sky and her eyes felt dizzy, she slept sitting on the windowsill.
A sweet bird singing outside woke her up the next day. She rubbed her eyes and searched for the bud. Flora had this feeling that it would bloom into the most beautiful flower today. She felt worried when she couldn’t spot the bud nor the flower. Where did the bud go? She ran to her mom and grabbed her hand, “Where is my flower?”
Mom studied the plant and answered slowly, “I think the bird ate it up, I’m so sorry!”
Flora had tears in her eyes and she hugged her mom, crying. She was so sad, she didn’t had her lunch nor played with her friends. She just sat by the window, mourning the loss. It wasn’t a simple bud, it was a special one. Her first Flower, which was now no more alive.
Flora didn’t give up though, she knew she had a second chance. Her duty was to care for the plants, she loved them, even if they never flowered. So she continued to hope, hope that one day a flower may bloom. She would take pictures of it and paste them in her “Flora’s Flowers” book and name it as “My First Flower”.
Another year went by, Flora did not see any flowers. It was Christmas, Flora was having a lovely time opening gifts. That’s when she heard a bird chirping in the backyard. As she ran outside to see who was the new visitor, she saw the most pretty flower she had ever seen! It was bright pink in color, which was Flora’s favourite color.
Flora ran to the flower and touched it carefully. It felt soft and smooth against her skin. The petals big and round, were 20 in numbers. She counted them quick. Her mom and friends came to too. Everyone congratulated her, as mom took her pictures with the flower.
Flora was so happy she had no words to describe how she felt. All she said was, “Thank you, Flower for coming!”

And then your image changed in my mind…
From my hero to a villain
[image error]
And then your image changed in my mind…
From my life partner to one of life’s bad lessons
From my future to a dead past
And then your image changed in my mind…
From romancing me to making me depressed
From excitement to disappointments
From waiting for you to saying Goodbye Forever
And then your image changed in my mind…
From hopes to heart breaks
From Smiles and blushes to cries
From beauty to ugliness
From positive vibes to negative
From ray of sunshine to an endless stormy night
From a saviour to a murderer of my emotions
From truth to a web of lies
From someone whom I trusted the most to a complete suspious stranger
And then your image changed in my mind…
From love to hate and to neutrality
To blankness
To End
To A New Beginning, without you

Stay strong
I know things have been tough
Trust had been broken many times
Faith is struggling to stay
People have turned out to be anything but good
I know you are broken
I know you are hurt
Depressed and sad
Don’t just give up on hope
The universe is listening
Continue to trust yourself
To hope
To pray
Have faith
Smile
Laugh
Dance
Cheer up
Everything’s gonna be perfectly fine
Its awesome
Its lovely
Its fantastic
Its wonderful
Today is a day so special
Everyday is special
Be strong, hang in there!
