My Facebook Reader Group: Nasser’s Book Nymphs

Earlier this week, on a whim, I started a Facebook reader group called Nasser’s Book Nymphs. It was daunting to take the leap, but I like the idea of talking about my thoughts and work behind closed doors.

I’d love you to come and join us in there. I’ve been making lots of fun games and it’s a welcoming place to be if you’re bookish sort like me, who needs a bit of silly and warmth to brighten your day.

If you want to be in first in the know for book and personal news, plus games and giveaways, ...

Cover Reveal: Midlife Drift (Druid Heir Book 4)

I have the cover for Druid Heir book 4, Midlife Drift, to share with you today. It’s by Maria Spada. This one means a lot

Maria worked so hard to get this done after her island was devastated by a typhoon.  She was so resilient and I am so grateful to her. I hope you like it as much as I do!

That’s the River Thames you see, and the tentacles of Kraglek, an octopus who is part of a ritual at Wildwoods School of the Wondrous, and has been blessed by the goddess Ganga.

By now, my hopes of a...

Defiance Blossoms

Does the globe tilt on its axis
when mothers weep?
Is that the sound of artillery
I hear or hearts breaking?

How does the world go on
when a man flips the switch
of his humanity and his own generals
dare not speak truth to power?

We look for snippets of news
Moved by the tales of strangers
Map constellations of grief in the crevices
of foreign faces so like ours

We learn the names of distant towns
cheer for faraway heroes
while sirens wail and eyelids close
under dust and mounds of rubble

Othe...

In the Armchair: Georgina Stancer

Let’s have a big hooray and a shimmy for Georgina Stancer, who is In the Armchair today! She’s a fellow English author and writes Paranormal Romance. I’m hoping her answers are as raunchy as her book covers

Georgina and I run a Paranormal reader group called Divining Tales together on Facebook, along with other authors. If Paranormal Women’s Fiction and Paranormal Romance are your thing, come and play. It’s such a supportive group, with plenty of chances to interact with the authors.

Settle in...

Is there a perfect Christmas or do you grin and bear it?

Families are busy making Christmas preparations as colder, darker days draw in here in London. There are wreaths going up on front doors, houses dressed in twinkling lights, pantomime tickets being booked, Christmas trees lugged in and decorated, and the constant ring of the doorbell as gifts arrive for loved ones.

If this sounds familiar, you’re one of the lucky ones.

I’m one of the lucky ones and conscious of the need to not be overwhelmed or grumpy about all the extra ...

In the Armchair: T.J. Deschamps

Please give a warm welcome to T.J. Deschamps, who will be sitting In the Armchair today. She’s fun, fierce and a fellow author of Paranormal Women’s Fiction. She also writes Fairytale Retellings and SciFi.

Tammy and I met recently through the 20 Books author forum on Facebook, and now run a Paranormal reader group called Divining Tales together on Facebook, along with other authors (it’s a load of fun. If Paranormal Women’s Fiction and Paranormal Romance are your thing, come and join us).

Cover Reveal: Midlife Tremors (Druid Heir Book 2) plus New Reader Group

I’ve been so busy squirrelling away on my current manuscript that I forgot to do a cover reveal for Midlife Tremors, book 2 of Druid Heir which is releasing in little over a week!

The covers of Druid Heir are by Maria Spada and I am in love with her work. I hope you like it too

Here is the blurb:

“You have neither your grandmother’s talents, druid, nor her beauty, but you can make something of yourself yet.”

Alisha and her friends might have saved the day against a vengeful god, but she still d...

In the Armchair: Mary Rowen

I’m delighted to welcome Mary Rowen to sit in the armchair today.

Mary and I met during the early days of Twitter, and a few years later came to write literary fiction/women’s fiction for Evolved Publishing. She is kind, generous and talented, and her stories are brave and hopeful, with exquisite characterisation.

After the interview, I found myself—not for the first time—wishing we lived closer so we could go for a cuppa. Mary’s answers about novels being somewhat auto-biographical and not leav...
