Carissa 'Rissa' Renae was born in 1977 in Mt. Vernon, Ohio. She grew up in the countryside, with the forests and fields her only true friends... because she had an annoying little brother, and her other friends just lived too damn far away to visit.

She moved to Calgary, Alberta after graduating high school, laid down roots, and never looked back. She graduated with a degree in computer technology, met her husband at work, they got married, then had a son, Gabriel. Somewhere in there she had the time to study up and gain her Canadian citizenship.

She still lives in Calgary, Alberta, Canada with her family, her dog Mochi, and her cat Boo.

Alan Lightman
“In a world without future, each parting of friends is a death. In a world without future, each loneliness is final. In a world without future, each laugh is the last laugh. In a world without future, beyond the present lies nothingness, and people cling to the present as if hanging from a cliff.”
Alan Lightman, Einstein’s Dreams
