2025 Home Organization Challenge Kit

Welcome to an our annual Home Organization Challenge. It’s 2025 and this year is our 14th year clearing the clutter from our homes together. I have changed things up a bit this year and we will begin the challenge in the home office or the place where you manage + keep your finances. We always seem to get stuck in kitchen week so I wanted to begin our focus in another area this year. The schedule is different, so make sure to write it in your planner and follow along with us.

The challenge begins on Saturday January 4th. If you would like to participate with our community, make sure to join my challenge Facebook group below.
The Challenge Kit: Print out the free challenge kit. You can print from Google Drive or Dropbox.

The Goal: Our goal for the challenge, is not only to help you organize, but to help you remove the things from your home that you don’t use or need. I don’t want you to organize all the things, just to take Instagram worthy pictures of color coded items you no longer have a need for. Don’t get me wrong, I love an organized home and I want your home to be organized. But we need to dig deeper into the challenge and ask ourselves why we have all of these things we keep re-organizing each year. Do we use everything or are we holding on to it “just in case”? Are we keeping it because we spent so much money on it or because it belonged to our beloved family member that has since passed away? Things don’t define us or control our memories. They are just inanimate objects. An open and free space and a peaceful mind is the goal, not rainbow colored rows of t-shirts or boxes of memories we will never use or see. When we remove the un-necessary, we make room for what really matters.
The Process: This is a self guided challenge so you can go at your own pace. You can also refer back to the blog, for organizing inspiration and to see photos of my home for more guidance.
Join the Challenge: You don’t need to “sign up” to join the challenge. To actively participate in the challenge, here is what you can do.
Print out the challenge kit (above) and prepare for the challenge using the checklist I have provided to you.For extra help, you can purchase the challenge companion guide, The Complete Book of Home Organization. It contains the challenge schedule, all the steps to complete each challenge, tips, tricks, inspiration photos, and so much more. On the hunt for a Classic Christmas Tree…

I have been searching for an authentic looking Christmas tree with a simplified and classic style. I knew I had to order one ASAP for best selection, so I started looking last month. I wanted one that didn’t take up too much space like my previous tree did. It was entirely too wide and crowded the space. It was almost impossible to walk around it. I was thrilled when I found a better alternative. I found the one I had envisioned at King of Christmas. #gifted.

I had four requirements, when shopping for a new Christmas Tree.
I wanted a tree that was pre-lit. I wanted a tree tall enough for my 10 foot ceilings.I wanted a tree that was narrow enough to fit in the corner by my fireplace.I wanted a tree that looked authentic & like it was freshly cut down from a Christmas tree farm.
I found everything I was looking for and more. It has a dramatic yet understated look and it doesn’t scream artificial. Simple and sweet is exactly what I wanted and what I found. King of Christmas had so many trees to choose from but I ultimately chose the Royal Fir Slim 9ft tree. We have been stringing lights on our old tree for years and we finally said enough!

Our new tree is pre-lit with white as well as colorful light settings. We also have the option to dim the lights. It came with a remote control so we don’t have to mess with a plug every day. Gone are the days of contorting my body to reach the plug behind the tree. We just love it.

If you’re looking to update your old tree, now is the time to shop for the best selection. You don’t want to wait until November or December. It’ll be too late. King of Christmas had the best quality trees I could find and so many to choose from. Have fun shopping for the perfect tree this year.

Join my upcoming Total Body Recomposition Challenge!

This January, I invested $1500, for a fitness coach to help me reach my goals. I spent 12 weeks, 5 days a week, strength training and learning how fitness combined with nutrition affected the outcome of my success. It was a wonderful experience and I finished with a wealth of knowledge and positive benefits. I didn’t have any weight to lose but I did gain a lot of muscle, strength, and a different perspective on the importance of protein in my diet. I still have more work to do, so Im starting a new program this month and I invite you to join me.
One-on-one coaching is not cheap and it’s not something everyone can do. With that in mind, I wanted to be able to help my readers reach their goals alongside me, so I have a great option that will get you there without breaking the bank. So many of you have reached out to me and want to start incorporating strength training into your routine as well. So I am inviting you to join me, over the next 12 weeks, to reach attainable fitness and nutrition goals for a fraction of the cost.
I will begin a 12 week total body recomposition program on Monday April 15th. If you are tired of not putting yourself first and want to see changes with your body composition (aka fat to muscle), I invite you to join me. You don’t have to wait until 4/15 to begin. You can start NOW!

The program is a total body recomposition 12 week program, which includes intense weightlifting for all levels (beginner, intermediate, or skilled). It was designed to build strength, confidence, and unbelievable physical results.
Body recomposition reshapes your body by melting fat and building muscle to reveal a leaner, more muscular body.
Over the next 12 weeks, you will go through three 4-week collections of workouts using a variety of proven lifting techniques that will leave you toned and sculpted.
You will lift heavy, gradually bumping up your intensity, and target every muscle group to help you reach your peak physical and mental strength.
Workouts are 5 or 6 days a week, 30-50 minutes a day (or -25 minutes for busy people). They include 5 days of lifting and 1 day of optional, low-impact cardio. (No jumping or high impact required!) There’s also a No Excuses collection of under-25-minute workouts, for when you’re short on time. If you can’t do 5-6 days a week, incorporate as many days as you can. Remember, though, you will get out of it what you put into it. I will be starting out with 5 days a week.

You don’t need an elaborate home gym to complete this program. There are only two things you’ll need, dumbbells and an adjustable bench. Once the program is finished, you can use this equipment for years to come.
Dumbbells: You need a wide variety of light, medium, heavy, and super heavy dumbbells, so you can choose the most challenging weights for each move. These are perfect for the program.

Bench: You’ll also need an adjustable bench, which is essential to help support your body properly and allow you to target every muscle group. This one is a great value.

If you’re interested in improving your nutrition along with your body recomposition (to speed up the process & outcome), that’s also included in the price! It’s a self guided program that will teach you about nutrition and mindset around food. You’ll get short videos that you can watch each day as well as a catalog of delicious printable recipes to try. This is the program that helped me lose 45 pounds in 4.5 months! I can’t say enough good things about it. It’s quite amazing.

Also included in the price:
Over 100+ fitness programs, workout Blocks, and thousands of workouts for every level and workout style. Nutrition plans, with over 1,000 healthy recipes.Mindset Master Classes led by experts in personal development and positive psychology. You choose if you want access for the 12 weeks of the workout program or access to all the videos for 12 months. How to join me?If you are ready for a total body recomposition, follow the steps below.
Join the digital platform here. Make sure to choose either the 3 month option (which covers our 12 week program) or the 12 month option (for access to all programs for 12 months).Once you join the platform (link above), you will need to purchase the exclusive 12 week program that I’ll be doing. Purchase that here. You have to be a member, before you can purchase the program. *Most programs are included in the membership fee, but since this is a new exclusive program, it’s separate from the membership at this time. All together, the 12 week program is $138.95. If you choose the 12 month membership, it will cost $228.95. You decide. I renew my membership every year. It’s such a great value and I’ve been using it since 2019. I paid $1500 for my 12 week coaching this January, so $138 is a steal!
How to prepare?Take before & weekly pictures (in the same bikini), so you can see your progress. Take your “before” measurements because you will want to see the dramatic difference and how 12 weeks of this program will transform your body. Don’t forget to weight yourself!Gather your equipment. Print out the schedule and free digital tools. Once we begin, don’t forget to fill out your dumbbell tracker daily, so you can see how much stronger you’re getting each week.I will be completing the challenge right along side you and cheering you on with weekly updates in Instagram stories, encouraging you to keep going! If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to message me on Instagram. I look forward to seeing your before and after pictures. Follow me on instagram here.

The Simplified Closet

Over the past couple of years, I’ve really honed in on my style. I am drawn to a more neutral color palate. My home is calming, neutral, and simplified. Recently I had a thought that maybe refining my wardrobe might give me the same sense of calmness that I love so much about my home. I was on a mission to find out so I got to work creating a simplified and neutral wardrobe.

The first thing I did was completely empty the closet. I put everything on my bed (in categories) and sorted through piece by piece. When purging, I asked myself three questions:
Do I love it? Do I use it? Can I live without it?
Since I am striving for a simplified & neutral wardrobe, I added two more questions.
Does the item have a neutral color palate?
How much of each type of clothing do I need?
I purged accordingly and eliminated over 50% of my wardrobe. I went through every box, basket, bin, shelf and drawer. I purged luxury hand bags (sold them) and so many things that were just collecting dust. The price tag did’t matter. If I wasn’t using it, I let it go. It felt like a huge weight was lifted and I immediately felt a sense of relief. I was storing (and caring) for things I don’t even use. It feels great to let things go and break the bond of attachment. I recently read a quote that said “If you don’t love it or use it… it’s clutter” ~ Cozy Minimalism. This spoke to my soul because that’s exactly what it is – clutter!

In order to simplify, you need to figure out your ‘magic’ numbers. Everyone will be different, depending on your lifestyle. How many pairs of jeans is enough? How many sweaters will you wear in a season? Do you wear dresses? If so, how many is enough for your lifestyle? You get the point. Write it all down, as you go through your things. Be real and be ruthless. If it no longer serves your needs, let it go. Don’t hang on to things that don’t fit you right now. Don’t keep something because you spent a lot of money on it. Your home is not a storage unit. Let it go.

Once you’ve finished purging, you’ll notice how simplified and clean the space looks. There is less visual clutter. In order to keep it this way, you have to practice the one in -one out rule. If you purchase something new, it needs to replace something old. If you get a new pair of shoes, donate a pair, etc.
We no longer need to accumulate things, only replace them as needed. There is nothing wrong with shopping. We all love a new shirt every now and then. The problem lies in the accumulation of things. Once you can conquer that and begin following the one in – one out philosophy, you will start to see a shift.

An easy way to keep your donations tidy is to designate a laundry bin for this purpose. I call it my donation basket. I’ve used one for years and it works great. Once it’s full or at the beginning of each month, donate everything you’ve placed in your bin.

As I sorted through my things, I thought about all the money I spent for an expensive wardrobe I hardly wore. I wasted a lot of money impulse shopping. I bought clothes that looked cute in the store but didn’t satisfy me after all. It was more of a way to release the shopping craving and not because I truly needed the items.
I am more mindful and intentional about my purchases now. It takes a lot of effort to practice this but it’s something I am working on daily. As I learn my authentic style, I find myself passing on things I would have otherwise purchased. It’s a new normal for me and a daily challenge, but one I’m enjoying. In order to maintain a simplified closet, you’ll need to change your mindset and shop intentionally or you’ll be right back where you started.

I know my style now. I love neutrals, I love classics, and I love simplicity. This trifecta is my sweet spot and I am cultivating a wardrobe that reflects it. I hope you’ve found some inspiration and tips to simplify & create a wardrobe that makes you happy, whether it be lots of colors or a more neutral palate.

Cleaning Card System

I often get asked how I do it all, with a full time job running a business. I don’t do it all in one day. I break it down into manageable daily and weekly tasks. With a plan and consistency, anyone can stay on top of things. In addition to the Home Organization Kit, this cleaning system covers most aspects of home keeping.

Take control of your cleaning routine with a cleaning system that works with your schedule. A Bowl Full of Lemons Cleaning Card Kit includes a daily cleaning checklist, weekly refresh checklist and 12 weekly cleaning cards. You plan what you’ll accomplish each day and when.

The daily cleaning checklist is split up into a morning routine and evening routine. The weekly refresh checklist is separated by homekeeping tasks and planning & errands. Together, the checklists cover most daily and weekly homekeeping tasks.

You’ll also receive 12 pdf cleaning cards which breaks down cleaning tasks in each space of your home. You’ll have the daily & weekly maintenance covered and a space to deep clean each week. It’s a simple plan and will change the way you do homekeeping.
[image error]This system takes the thought process out of cleaning. It’s streamlined and also allows you to delegate tasks to family members. If what you’re doing now isn’t working, you need to give this system a try. Click here to purchase the cleaning card system and download it immediately.

The 2022 Home Organization Challenge Kit

Happy New Year, friends! We’ve had a tough couple of years and beginning a brand new year is a breath of fresh air for all of us. My wish is for you to head into this year with a positive mind and a peaceful heart. I’m praying for the same. My main goal for 2022 is to really simplify my life… I mean really simplify. I want to simplify my schedule, my things, and the noise that distracts me from living a truly intentional life. This challenge will help us all get there, as we declutter our homes.
Y E A R 11
This is our 11th challenge and I am so happy you are joining us. The 2022 Home Organization challenge is going to be a little different this year. The focus will be a little different as well as my approach to sharing. As I simplify my life, the changes I’ve made will make it a little bit easier for me to host, as my schedule is quite hectic from running a household and my store French Mercantile.
[image error]The Goal: My main goal for this challenge, is not only to help you organize, but to help you remove the things from your home that you just don’t use or need.
The Process: This year, I am not posting the weekly challenges to the blog. I’ve posted everything I can about my process, on the blog for the past 10 years, so there is plenty of information and inspiration for you to refer back to. I will be sharing weekly inspiration and my journey on Instagram and in our Challenge group on Facebook. This will happen every Saturday on Facebook and more often on Instagram.

My favorite products from Grove!

I’ve been using Grove Collaborative for several years now. The ease of use and time-saving online ordering has saved me countless hours. I’m so busy these days and shopping for these products online gives me one less thing to worry about checking off my list. Today I’m sharing my current Grove favorites. What are yours?
The Ultrasonic Aromatherapy Diffuser and Grove essential oils. I absolutely love diffusing essential oils. It’s one of the first things I do in the mornings. I diffuse purify in the morning, unwind in the afternoon, and lavender in the evening. These essential oils are certified organic and are sustainably distilled either through steam processing of leaves, bark, and roots, or cold pressing fruit peels. They are never treated with chemical solvents.
2. Dr. Bronner’s Pure Castile Soap. It’s no surprise that I love using natural cleaning products in my home and I love making my own. Castile soap is one of the main ingredients in many of my cleaning products, however you can use it alone to clean just about everything in your house. It’s my go-to natural cleaner. Almond and lavender are my two favorite scents.

3. Grove’s Replaceable Head Walnut Scrubber. This is my brush of choice for dish-washing. I keep it in my sink at all times. I swap out the brush head every 2 weeks. It’s non abrasive and eco friendly. Win-win!

4. Grove’s Lavender & Thyme Glass Cleaner. I love cleaning concentrates and this one works (& smells) amazing! Once it’s empty, I simply pour a new concentrate in my reusable glass spray bottle from Grove & add water. Their biodegradable formula is made with 95% plant-based ingredients — no plastic, parabens, phthalates, phosphates, formaldehyde, synthetic dyes, ammonia, or chlorine bleach. Plus they are cruelty free, so that means no animal testing ever. I love it!

5. Seventh Generation Easy Dose Ultra Concentrated Laundry Detergent. I LOVE this detergent. The bottle is small, I can get 66 loads out of one bottle, and it’s pre-measured. With just one firm squeeze, I can quickly add the detergent to the washing machine. It’s also biodegradable, paraben-free, sulfate-free, and triclosan-free. There are three scents to choose from: Tropical grove, lavender, and free & clear. The main reason I love this product is that it actually works!

If you’re new to Grove Collaborative, they are offering a free gift with your first Grove order. Click below, to see what the buzz is all about, browse their amazing products, and get a free cleaning set. You’ll even get free shipping!

Groves mission statement says it all. “The products that clean our countertops, clothes, and selves shouldn’t spoil the earth or our health.
