I was born in Scotland, but have lived in Burton upon Trent, England for almost all of my life. I am married to Lynne and have a son, Mark. My father’s family originally came from Cornwall where they were Tin Miners, but moved to North Leicestershire in the 1840s to mine coal. My mother was Scottish and met my dad during the second world war.

I’ve always had a passion for writing and started to write my first novel when I was 17 years old, but never got around to finishing it. Later in life, whilst working full time, I started writing again in my spare time.

For example issues such as immigration, religious conflict, national identity, inequality between the rich and poor and a host more. A lot is still unknown about events in the late Roman period in Britain and so as a writer that gives me some licence, although as much as possible I try to keep events as historically accurate as I can. So yes, it does offer me more options, than limitations.(less)

Update on my current writing projects

After finishing my first sci-fi novel 'The Sol 3' Agenda, back in 2020 at the beginning of what was to become the Covid-19 Pandemic, I started to write the final book in the Divided Empire Trilogy, 'The Wolves of Erin'. I'd made a really good start on it and had written around 44,000 words when the Delta variant of Covid-19 hit the UK.
