Spreading The Christmas Joy
I was recently asked to submit a post for Emilie Hendryx for her blog titled Spreading the Christmas Joy. It was meant to be an inspirational tale based on one of my memories of Christmas. I wrote two and after gaining the opinion of a few close to me, this is the one I chose. I am adding the rejected post to the end so that you may choose for yourself which one you like the best. Matthew 6:19 Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where

Which Prince Would You Choose?
Queen Brianna’s choices for a mate are quickly narrowed to the three princes of Gilvary. Today we will take a look at each of them. Let me know which one you would pick! Here is what we know about Dunbar: *He is the crown prince of Gilvary. If Brianna marries him, their kingdoms would merge as one after his parents are gone. *He is under his father’s thumb right now, but perhaps he is just a victim of his circumstances. *Maybe if he could get away from Gilvary and his father, things could

Off to a Wonderful Start!
This has been an exciting weekend for me! I started giving away Advance Reader Copies of Securing Aisling on Saturday. So far the feedback has been great! I have heard things like, “I honestly loved the book and can’t wait for the next one,” “I am really enjoying the book so far and just wanted you to know,” and “When the characters talk about God, it is as natural as breathing.” I have also been asked to do an interview. I hope you will read it when it comes out in December. I will post more

We have a cover for Securing Aisling!
It has been a long, hard process for me and my designer, but the cover is finallly done. I should tell you that my designer is also my sister, Tammy Jackson. She had started her photography business just before I started writing Securing Aisling. Just like with my writing, it has been a learning process for her. She really got put through the wringer with this project! I keep telling her that it will be easier next time. ;-) Thanks Tammy! You can find out more about her on her Facebook page-

What Does the Kingdom of Aisling Look Like?
What is the Kingdom of Aisling like? *Contains excerpts from the book, Securing Aisling* The country of Kearnley is divided into three kingdoms—all named after the three brothers who conquered this small country hundreds of years before. There is Dermot in the mountains of the North. The arid Gilvary lies in the middle of Kearnley. And Aisling(pronounced Ashling) covers the Southern coast. The castle of Aisling is built into a cliff overlooking the Moya Ocean and is home to Queen Brianna

Publishing update
Finally, I have internet! I know—it seems unbelievable to live in America today without access to the net. I had to give it up when my husband went on disability a few years ago. Going without it has not been a totally bad thing. It allowed me to focus on my writing. My first novel, Securing Aisling, is 99% ready to be published! The only thing left is the cover, and we are working on it now. Be sure to check out the pictures from the photo shoot on my facebook page-

The First Five Pages From Securing the Kingdom of Aisling
Here are the first five pages of my book, Securing the Kingdom of Aisling. Enjoy! One Brianna “Queen Brianna, are you listening to me?” I looked across the council room table directly at Reilly. “Yes, you just told me that I have until my birthday to find a husband and get married. I am aware of that. Are you aware that my birthday is almost six months away and the Session meeting we are supposed to be discussing today is just next week? We can plan a wedding after we get back

God is in Control
My husband has Non-Alcoholic Cirrhosis. His has never even drank a beer before. He has never tried drugs. He wouldn't take a tylonol unless he was desperate. If fact, up until about five years ago, he had never been sick- not even a cold. It started out when he lost over 100 pounds in less than three months. He was diagnosed with diabetes. The funny thing is, he had no problem giving up the sweets, and he immediately switched to diet Pepsi without complaint. He still won't eat vegetables

I'm a Blogger!
I picked a frog to represent my first blog entry because that's what I am. FROG- Fully Relying On God! I know, it sounds cliche', but I really am stepping out on faith here. I have basically been a stay-at-home mom/housewife for, well, all of my life. Other that a few tax courses, my schooling does not go past high school. I have started writing projects in the past but never finished any of them. What makes me think that I can write a book and then get it published? A little over a year ago I
