Camp Nanowrimo
I am participating in a writing challenge for the month of April. Here is my contribution for the day. Keep in mind- this is a first draft. There will be mistakes and needed tweaking. Feel free to send me your input. Thanks! 1 “If you ask me, he deserved to die.” Sadie was always saying stuff like that. Whatever thoughts popped into her head, came out through her mouth. They were at the man’s funeral for mercy’s sake. No filter on that girl, but no one could accuse her of disloyalty. She had

How Bad Was That First Draft?
How bad was that first draft? Here are the first two paragraphs of my published draft for Securing Aisling. “Queen Brianna, are you listening to me?” I looked across the council room table directly at Reilly. “Yes, you just told me that I have until my birthday to find a husband and get married. I am aware of that. Are you aware that my birthday is almost six months away, and the Session meeting we are supposed to be discussing today is just next week? We can plan a wedding after we get back

Why Did I Start Writing?
Feed my sheep. (See John 21:15-17) Why did I start writing? The answer is simple, yet complicated. I was called. I believe all Christians are called to serve Christ. When I was nine, I was told there was a great possibility that I would never bear children. With the faith of a child, I prayed that when the time was right, Lord, please let me have children. He chose to say yes, but I believe it was with the understanding that I would raise them according to His plan. I was called to be godly

INTJ Mastermind 0r Villain: How to Use MBTI Personality Profiles in Writing.
INTJ Mastermind 0r Villain I am constantly doing research to become a better writer. A while back I saw a post on Pinterest about how and why the villains in some stories were inaccurate. It starts out explaining about one particular MBTI personality type that is most often portrayed as the villain in fiction─the INTJ. I had never heard of MBTI([image error]

Author Interview
Tell us about yourself. I grew up poor. Sometimes the only entertainment we had was me reading books to the rest of my family. I have been an avid reader since and have dabbled with writing, but I did not become serious with it until three years ago. How many books have you written? I have written two complete books so far─one published and one that I am preparing for publication. What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it? Securing Aisling is the first book in The Kingdoms of[image error]

Places to Promote Your Free eBook
KDP Select allows you to post your eBook for free five days out of each three months period that you are signed up. This is especially important for that debut book because it helps get your name out there and builds interest in your future books as well. I have compiled a list of places to promote your book. It will probably take days for you to go though each one that first time, but hopefully it will be worth it in the end. You will also be bombarded with emails from these sites. I[image error]

Softcover of Securing Aisling now available!
My book has been available in digital form since December 1, 2015, but the fact that I am now an author never felt as real to me as it did the moment I held that first hard copy in my hands. A special thanks to my sister, Tammy Jackson, who did the cover. I could not have done this without you. I know I got on your nerves more than once. I could tell there were times that you wanted to give up, but you didn't. 2015 has been hard on the both of us. Hopefully we will put it behind us and looking[image error]
