Trying Not to Stick a Brush in My Eye
I am still here. Partially.
I was in the VA Hospital just before New Years with exhaustion and dehydration. I survived. Yay!
And then yesterday morning I was in my studio. I have a number ofpainting commissions I am working on, and I was preparing to cut some canvas for a 16x54 painting of the stretch room. I normally use scissors to cut the canvas to size and then, after stretching it, I use a box cutter to trim the canvas.
As I prepared to cut the canvas, the box cutter was closer than

Why I Hate Sharks
The sun shone brightly over Miami Beach as I swam slowly, underwater, over a coral reef, looking left and right through my goggles. Holding my spear gun in front of me, I was ready to spear unsuspecting fish.
The beautiful reef dropped away to fifteen feet. I dove deeper and, suddenly there it was: JAWS! Oh my God! It was Death, his eyes locked on mine! I flailed upward, gulping water through my snorkel. Breaking the surface, I spit out my mouthpiece, and screamed, "Shark!"

100 Artists Under Main Street
I was mesmerized while walking past artists who were creating, drawing and painting Disney characters which would become images for various kinds of Disney merchandise.Other artists were sculpting figures of all sizes for jewelry items and figurines.
I was in the middle of the Merchandise Art Department at Walt Disney World. It was located in the central part of the tunnel under Main Street. Aspacious room, it containedcubicles, drawing boards, artist's tables, supplies and equipment. One

Magic Days
If the word "reunion"calls to mind getting together with old school friends, I can tell you I have recently experienced one even better. In early April, I spent three days in Orlando, Fl, reconnecting with some very special people from my days as Sleepy the Dwarf (and other characters) at Walt Disney World. This reunion brought together entertainment cast members who worked at Walt Disney World from 1971 -79.
