Learning who

Learning to be,

Can be hard you see,

Life teaches us early who we are,

Can make us doubt ourselves, makes lasting scars.

If we focus on others judgements,

The negatives, can stunt our circumference,

Told you are no good at that,

Are ugly, stupid that’s a trap.

Learning to be the person, that fulfills their own potential,

Can be hard, if we believe we can’t be successful,

We are duff at sums, we have no charm,

We can’t attract a mate, communication causes alarm.

Living with the mantra of negativity,

Becomes a self fulfilling prophecy,

Yet each of us in unique,

Why do we have to follow the herd,or be the freak?

Learning to be, can be hard,

Some never manage, they keep their marked card,

Others start to realise, they like their self,

Gain confidence, count their strengths, grab life itself.

Learning to be, is easy for some,

They have self love and confidence from day one,

Get positive feedback, grab the day,

Breeze through life, like through a holiday.

From where ever we start,

It’s important to be, all you want to be,

Start with caring for you, seeing the good,

Celebrate your achievements, search out the dead wood.

Each of us is unique, and deserves to live life to the full,

Aware of who they are, shining bright never dull.

Acrostic ….Adventure…..challenge

Are you familiar with the Acrostic poem? Where you write a word vertically down a page and fit an apposite word or sentence for each line?

Acrostic Style – This is a poem that is constructed in such a way that the first letter of each

line can be compiled together to spell one or more words. They may often be the same as

the title.

This example is particularly clever it begins and ends with Stroud,

by Paul Hansford –

Set among hills in the midst of five valleyS,

This peaceful little market town we inhabiT

Refuses (vociferously!) to be a conformeR.

Once home of the cloth it gave its name tO,

Uphill and down again its streets lead yoU.

Despite its faults it leaves us all charmeD.

Here is a one ended acrostic for adventure.

Adventure

Addictive activity

Voyage into new territory

Extreme excitement

Navigating new pathways

Thrill seeking comes in different colours

Unlimited opportunities

Risk or risk averse there are opportunities to

Experience adventure.

Any one care to try one in the comments section or challenge me to do a different one?
