Mental Health of kids
The pressures facing children today at school are truly unprecedented; from worrying about exams, self-image, on-line bullying to sexting and suicide.
Fortunately, this immense issue is now beginning to be addressed via schools themselves and mental health charities and notably, the support of the Duke & Duchess of Cambridge.
Having spent my professional life in all aspects of the education system, including managerial responsibility for OFSTED inspections and the safeguarding of young people, I have been very aware, with first hand experience of these, all too real challenges.
This inspired my Medicine Tree series which looks at each school year through comprehensive school and the specific issues each year faces. Through this evocative and thought provoking school drama series, the reader (young people & parents alike) are able to experience real life, accurate and current school situations and tips on how to tackle them. Often, those who need the most support are too afraid to ask for it. I hope the young protagonist, Emily,The Medicine Tree will offer inspiration, even in the darkest of circumstances.

Another World...
Another world lies beyond that of reality. The world of fantasy and imagination. A world that lives in your mind and yours alone. This world will thrill you, scare you and enchant you.
This secret kingdom will last a lifetime and is your secret...
Join me on a journey of fantasy and the supernatural with my Zackery Grimm Series.
You can visit the places Zak and Amelie experience, yes, they exist. Take the book along and use it as your guide to Scarborough (Agapantha Claypole) or to the Gothic, seaside town of Whitby (Billy Peanut).
If you enjoy a school based drama, where the events and experiences of Emily are taken from my own experiences as a teacher, you might like to try the Medicine Tree, where philosophies old and new are interwoven to provide helpful tips through the minefield of those turbulent, school years!
