So Close and Yet So Far!

I have Into the West: A New Home and the Limited Edition Into the West: A New Home with Into the West: The Orphan Train included loaded onto CreateSpace but I want to do one more review of each. The annoying thing is, if I do one more review then I doubt I will get them published by the end of the month. Now, that is not such a big deal but then I would need to change the publication date in the book, that means I have to upload a new copy, then the site takes another 24 hours to review the

Success and Stress!

Why does it always seem like every success is followed by some stress, or is it just me? I was feeling wonderful. P.R. came home from Chile and I was feeling wonderful. I hate it when P.R. has to leave town and always look forward to the day P.R. returns.  I took a day off to just relax the day P.R. got home. We went to the grocery store together, because honestly there was not much in the house, I had lived on rice and veggie wraps the whole two weeks P.R. was gone. Then we went to bed early.

Sooooooo tired ......

This will be short and hopefully sweet. I have been working on the formatting for Into the West: A New Home and I think I have it ready to go. I am loading it into CreateSpace now and with luck it should be live in a few days.  I have been going non-stop between class work and working on my books and I have yet to get a full eight hours of sleep in a single night for ... I have no idea how long it has been. I have a test in the morning for which I have not yet been able to study and it's a

Into the West: The Orphan Train Paperback Available Again!

I was able to release Into the West: The Orphan Train for sale in paperback again today. This is actually a 2nd edition as it has been reedited. I even made a few minor changes since I was doing it all again anyway.  Now, I'm working on getting Into the West: A New Home reedited and back up for sale. I am about halfway through and hope to have the formatting done tomorrow. This will mean it will most likely be able to go live by this coming weekend.  The cover art has been changes slightly too

A Learning Experience!

When I decided to try to write books for myself and stop ghostwriting I had no idea what I was getting into. Writing is actually the easy part. Doing all of the self-publishing work is where the real challenge is, at least for me.  I had originally only planned on doing ebooks but then when I learned you can easily do paperbacks and audiobooks with CreateSpace, I wanted to get into all of it. I am learning the process as I go and I have plenty to learn. When you publish a paperback in

Of Dog Bones and Junk Food and Other Things ...

I'm always torn when P.R. has to go on a trip. I like having time to myself once in a while, I was single for 46 years so I'm very comfortable being on my own, but I truly love time with P.R. too. I never would have imagined it would be so easy to be married to someone.  While P.R. is gone, I still have to take care of Shaggy. The little fur-ball is so cute, which is a very good thing for when he is being a little wiener. I think he gets upset when P.R. leaves because he always seems to revert

The Paperbacks are Coming!

I didn't have class today so I spent the day trying to catch up on a few things. Since I am the neat freak, and P.R. is most certainly not, I have been trying to get some spring cleaning done around here while P.R. is in Chile. It's much easier when I only have to work around Shaggy, not Shaggy and another person. I can get away with leaving Shaggy on the balcony while I mop the floors but P.R. hates it when I try to do that. So, this morning I gave Shaggy a bone and put him on the balcony while

I Need a New Head

It would be great if you could get a head transplant. I'd want one with less grey hair, fewer wrinkles, and one that works without pain.  For those who don't know, I have a rare neurological condition called an Arnold Chiari Malformation. In 2004 I had seven surgeries in six months to try to help treat some of the symptoms that come with this condition. When all was said and done I developed hydrocephalus from the first surgery, I ended up almost dying after the sixth surgery, and spent about

Into the West: A New Home eBook Back Online

I managed to get Into the West: A New Home reedited and published again on Amazon. It should be available for purchase again later today May 17th, 2016. I hope to work on the formatting for the paperback tonight and have both part one and two available again in paperback by the end of the week. There will also be a limited edition version with both one and two in one volume so people who previously bought Into the West: The Orphan Trains with the typos included will be able to get an updated

Feeling Accomplished!

After three days with a migraine I got up today feeling pretty good. I took advantage of the good day and got a lot of things on my to do list checked off. Luckily, the weather was very nice so I was able to put Shaggy out in the back yard for a few hours with I worked in the house.  After making sure Shaggy had plenty of toys, shade, water, and food, I came in and got to work. We had a stack of boxes I had been planning to put into storage in the basement and finally got everything carried down
