Book Review Of Madhuparna Suman Novel : Fancy Punctures by Rajiv Bakshi Author

Ever since I published my first Book on short stories : Journey from Guwahati to Machhiwara in March 2015 , when so many Bloggers reviewed my Book , I find it’s my duty to review books of fellow Author ,especially if it’s the Authors first Book . I have never met the Author . The only thing I know about her is that she is from South India & is presently living abroad with her husband .

She has dedicated the book to her husband : a good sign . Only the Author can tell whether the book has a real plot .

The Book : Fancy Punctures is an interesting read . I was confused initially by the name of the book . But as the tale of ‘ inter twined story ‘ unfolds , the various characters enter the story . The characters are a Psychology Professor , student Avanthika , her friend Vedhika , Govind , Vijay , Devang , Kashyap , Bhumika , Vinayak ! All these characters have some part to play in unfolding of this simple love story .

Please don’t expect a traditional love story in the book , which took almost 4 years for the Author to turn her dream into reality .

What could have been better ?

A bit of melodrama could have added to the spice of book .

Tactical Details : Cover page , font size and quality of printing of book :

Thumbs Up .

Overall verdict : A Good Read . Since it’s the maiden attempt of the Author at a young age : It’s a great work for people who love to dream & then get that dream into reality .

Book available from Amazon

Book Review :Journey from Guwahati to Machhiwara

Great Review of my Book by a Blogger Kiran from an unknown city .

The PenGirl

Book details :

Name – Journey from Guwahati to Macchiwara

Author – Rajiv Bakshi

Publisher – Notion Press

Year of Publishing –2015

ISBN –978-93-84391-75-1

Review :

If you’re thinking that this book is a travelogue then you’re under a wrong notion, bug it definitely speaks of a very interesting journey.

I don’t think there is anyone out there who haven’t dreamt of telling exciting stories(after getting old) from his experience and flabbergast the younger generations. Rajiv Bakshi, after getting retired from his 9 to 7 job, has done the same thing —with a twist. Rather than sitting in an old armchair amidst a circle of grandchildren, he thought of writing a book which treasured his life’s experiences.

‘Journey from Guwahati to Macchiwara’ is the author’s memoir of 35 years and brings out the journey of a young lad, who starts his first job at bank (with a meagre income)…

Random Thoughts !

It’s never too late to undertake a #Journey . I got my first Passport 30 years back when I was working in a nationalised Bank with #Guwahati as my first Branch in 1976 when many of the Bloggers who follow me here & many people who follow my Twitter account @Rajivbakshi52 were not even born . The Passport papers remained blank with no entry in the first phase . Just to get another proof of residence in my kitty ( me being a banker for 35 years ) , I got my passport renewed for  the first time in 2005 .  But this time I got the chance to visit Pakistan for the first time in the year 2006 . The tour was historic & the memory was memorable . It resulted in writing two stories on the alien land which are part of my Book . [image error] https://rajivbakshiblog.wordpress.com  I got chance to visit Malaysia & Singapore . The visit was excellent , but I lost my luggage on my #Journey from Kulalampar to Singapore in the bus , for which I have yet to get a claim inspite of the consumer court case filed by my lawyer against the travel agent .

In between a visit to Sri Lanka . And on 4 visits to USA a few before retirement from Machhiwara District Ludhiana & a few after the retirement  in 2012 .

And here I am on my present visit to Chicago , watching falling of snow flakes & keeping myself warm in – 15 C . Feeling happy that my book on short stories is in 16 countries , 118 libraries in India , 3 libraries in USA . Book is available via Notion Press , Amazon , Flipkart & also on AmazonKindle . [image error][image error]
