Death Lost The Sting

1 Corinthians 15:55-57

55 O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?
56 The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law.
57 But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

Death is certain. It is comeing for each and every one of us. We will face it and there is no escape from it. The only question is, will you taste the sting of death and feel the graves victory? If you have accepted Christ death has no string and the grave has no victory. You have nothing to fear if that is the case. We will close our eyes here and open them to heaven. I am not saying I want to die now. I am saying that I do not fear death for I know my redeemer. The day will come that our clock runs out. I pray we can help many more have victory through Jesus Christ.

Would God Be There?

Genesis 28:16

16 And Jacob awaked out of his sleep, and he said, Surely the LORD is in this place; and I knew it not.

This verse is when Jacob awakes from dreaming of the ladder to heaven. The thing is though it is this verse that got me to thinking, would someone know by walking into your home that your are a Christian? Jacob knew the moment he woke up that God’s presence was there. He proclaimed it. That is how someone should feel when they walk into our homes or whenever they are around us. They should know we are Christians. We should never walk into a place that God is not present because we bring him with us. A sinner should be able to set on our couch and feel that drawing spirit on thier soul. The person at the end of thier ropes in the grocery store should feel hope in us. So, the question is, is God in your place?

The Battle Is Not Over

Zechariah 14:3

3 Then shall the LORD go forth, and fight against those nations, as when he fought in the day of battle.

The enemy has pushed you back. Your back is against the wall. He has taken your home, your family, and left you with nothing. It all seems lost. Now stand back and watch. God is not only going to give you ground, he is going to lay waist to the enemy. At times God will let the enemy push us back to let us see the enemies hand. When this happens we find out who the enemy really is. We find out what family and friends are truly on our side. We can then gather who is really on our side and watch God fight our battle. He will bring us from nothing and establish us. He will make known his power. So when all seems lost, remember that God is not going to let the enemy win.

Hands Held High

Exodus 17:11-12

11 And it came to pass, when Moses held up his hand, that Israel prevailed: and when he let down his hand, Amalek prevailed.
12 But Moses’ hands were heavy; and they took a stone, and put it under him, and he sat thereon; and Aaron and Hur stayed up his hands, the one on the one side, and the other on the other side; and his hands were steady until the going down of the sun.

As long as Moses had his hands raised the children of Israel would start winning. As soon as his hand dropped then enemy began to gain ground. Just like Moses holding up his hands, when we stand for God, the enemy loses ground. However, when we set down the enemy gains ground. I know it gets hard at times. I know we get tired. You start to wonder how you are still standing. Look behind you. Just like God did for Moses, he has sent someone to hold you up. So stand tall and refuse to give the enemy ground. He is going throw everything he has at you. He wants you to set down. Stay standing no matter what. Don’t give an inch of ground. Don’t surrender a single battle. I know you will get tired. Remember, God has people in your life to give you strength and hold you up so you never drop.

Neither Hot Nor Cold

Revelations 3:16

16 So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth.

This is simple. There is no in between with God. He does not want someone who on Sundays serves him, but then on Monday lives a life of sin. However, so many people live this way. They need to realize that people watch this. They see you straddling the fence. You are going to hit a low spot and you will have to choose a side. It is simple, I would rather be on fire for God than be the one people wonder if I am christian.

No Idol Could Stand

Zechariah 13:2

2 And it shall come to pass in that day, saith the LORD of hosts, that I will cut off the names of the idols out of the land, and they shall no more be remembered: and also I will cause the prophets and the unclean spirit to pass out of the land.

We often wonder the true extent of the power of God. We wonder if he can truly protect us. We know deep down he can, but we will find ourselves questioning it. In this verse it shows that he is powerful enough to destroy the very remembrance of the diety and false idols people whorship. If he can do this, just imagine what he can do with your situation. He can fix and repair broken homes. He can heal the sick and cure addiction. God can take the hindrance out of your life and put you on a solid rock. However, you must first turn it over to him. Once you do this, he will utterly destroy it the same as he has done to the false idols.

Resist And Overcome

Revelations 3:3-5

3 Remember therefore how thou hast received and heard, and hold fast, and repent. If therefore thou shalt not watch, I will come on thee as a thief, and thou shalt not know what hour I will come upon thee.
4 Thou hast a few names even in Sardis which have not defiled their garments; and they shall walk with me in white: for they are worthy.
5 He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels.

We all want to be labeled an overcomer. We all want to be called a strong person. We talk about how we overcome a hard life. We talk about how we overcome debt. We speak of how we overcame what people said we would not amount to anything. So, why are we not doing this when we face temptation? The Bible says if we overcome temptation we will be clothed in white raiment and Christ will confess our names before the father. We overcome our temptation by resisting and not giving in. At first it is hard to do. However, the longer you resist the easier it will become. It’s like people who quit smoking. At first it is awful. They want a cigarette so bad they can taste it, but the longer they go without one the easier it becomes. If you want to be an overcomer and have your name confessed to the father, stay strong and resist the temptation.

Lack Of Patience

James 1:3-4

3 Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience.
4 But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.

We all have waited on a package we have ordered. We want it as soon as we order it. We don’t want to wait. We will check the delivery status online and get upset if it gets postponed. We do the same thing when we are waiting on an answer from God. We want him to answer our prayers as soon as we pray them. We do this because we lack patience. We lack it because we focus more on our wants than our needs. All we need is God. He will answer our prayers on his time. I learned the hard way in life that you can get upset and want your prayers answered as soon as possible, but that does not mean it is going to happen. Just like the package coming through the mail, getting upset does not make it arrive any faster. We must have patience with God. He knows what is best.

Stay Out Of Trouble

Roman’s 14:16

16 Let not then your good be evil spoken of:

This is simple. Do not be in a place to where people can start rumors on you. I know people will start rumors for no reason at all, but that does not mean its okay to give them a reason to. Billy Graham would not even get on an elevator with a woman by himself, because someone could get the wrong idea. That is how we have to look at it. People will find everything to talk bad about you. They look for flaws to speak about. Take the saying “walking on egg shells” to heart. Do not find yourself in a place that may give someone the wrong idea.
