New Dragon Three Trivia

The Dragon Three trivia for today: Brina Fine has six siblings ranging from thirty to thirty-five years-old at the time of the story.

They are as follows: Baka, twins Barika and Basha, Bapu, twins Bem and Bae. Barika and Basha are the only other girls.

And, no, I have no clue where those names came from :)

The Dragon Three

As the release of my book, The Dragon Three, nears, I'm going to be posting little bits of information on the social media sites I use, including Google+, Facebook, Goodreads and Twitter. :)

Here are the two I posted on my FB author page today and yesterday.

In "My Immortal, 'm Cara," I introduced a character named Neysa Polyxena. She was only in a few paragraphs and wasn't even a secondary character. In "The Dragon Three," she plays a much bigger role, and isn't the only character from previous books to show up in my latest book. This character crossover is, along with a few other things mentioned in "My Immortal, 'm Cara," setting up a concept for my next book that will explain how these stories all inter-connect.

The Dragon Three tidbit for today is a quote from the character Thana Decker. "At least I managed to get rid of the cannibalistic penguins before they made too much of a mess in the library."

With the release of my sixth novel, The Dragon Three, fast approaching, I'm calling on my friends (who I can hopefully count as fans of my work as well) to help me build up some likes on my Facebook author page!

I know a lot of you are fans of my page, which I greatly appreciate. If you're not and do follow things that you "like" such as tv shows, musicians, stores, hobbies, musicians, actors, etc, please consider liking my page. I promise, I don't get too crazy when it comes to posts. :) If you've already liked my page or you don't follow any business type pages, please consider sharing this post so that your friends can check out my page and / or share again.

I thank you all in advance and look forward to sharing book developments as they start to come in!

New Novel Snippet

“Ah, ha!” Corakin shouted from where he sat behind what Thana could only assume was his desk. If judging by appearance alone, Thana would've said it was some sort of graveyard where manuscripts, odds and ends, and whatever else happened to be laying around, went to die. She was far from the tidiest of people, but this disorganization made her seem almost compulsively neat.

“Did you find something?” Thana asked, not daring to hope. The last two times Corakin had made a similar announcement had been false alarms. The first had been the discovery of a potpourri recipe for which Corakin had been looking for several months. The second had simply been in response to a bug he'd found crawling on his arm. Though, in hindsight, that particular sound most likely would have been clarified as a shriek rather than an announcement.

One Year Ends...

This year has been one of changes for me, the biggest of which was making the absolutely terrifying leap from full-time drone worker to full-time writer. It was a year ago this week that I finished out my last days at my previous job and prepared to start self-employment. At the time, I'd planned to give myself three months. If I wasn't getting the work I needed, I would start looking for regular employment. Now, a year later, I'm not only working 10-12 hour days 6-7 days a week, but I have work scheduled through April with numerous repeat clients asking to be put on my schedule after that. I have also been able to raise my rates, twice. This line of work is time-consuming, exhausting and can be creatively draining, but I haven't regretted my decision for a minute. I know that I'm blessed to be able to do this.

As the new year begins, I'm looking forward to several things, including weddings and vacations, as well as the release of my novel The Dragon Three by AEC Stellar Publishing. I'm hoping to have a little more time to work on my own writing, but even if I don't, I'll continue to be thankful that I'm finally able to do what I always said I wanted to do, make a living as a writer. I'm looking forward to everything God has in store for me in 2014!

November

Anyone planning on participating in NaNoWrMo? While I will be writing over 50K in November, unfortunately, none of it will be mine, or all in one book, but rather over several ghostwriting projects. Still, a girl's gotta make a living!

Best of luck to all who are going to work to hit the National Novel Writing Month goal of 50,000 words!!
