#RomanticTuesday – Your Aura Singing
.
The Soft brush of Your Hands
Upon my skin
Warm Temptation
Shivering in
Delicious Sighs
of Mutual Blush
Spinning us
In a Dizzying Rush
The Lightest Whisper of Your Voice
Beguiling Sentiment
Dulcet Choice
Close beside me
Your Aura Singing
Sweetest Pleasure Ever Bringing
The Gentlest Kiss of Your Smiling Lips
Honeyed Enticement
Tenderly Slips
Embrace of Hours
With Passion Springing
Enchantment Together
While Your Aura is Singing!

#RomanticTuesday – One Lingering Moment
.
When Tapestry spills like a Velvet Ribbon of Light
Condensing into the Space of Time yet Standing between Us,
And Caresses my Spirit with its Gentlest Hand,
Then my Heart Knows Purest Contentment
In this world of Harsh Reality,
Then my Spirit Sighs for Sweetest Delight,
In One Lingering Moment
That Stretches out its hand into the Darkness Obscuring my Sight,
Emblazoning my mind with Rapturous thoughts of You,
My Sweetest One,
My Most Precious Love,
My All.

Control
An absolutely Brilliant (and dare I say chilling) offering by Exceptional Writer Richard M Ankers.
He twists inside this man
Rapping upon the bars of his bone-white cage
Gnawing and chafing
Seeking to be free, always straining
A force unlike myself, darker
Although I fear by only a shade
He yearns to be free of my self-imposed prison
But it holds him, it holds him just
I know one day he’ll explode
Crash and burst in splinters of me
A brain in one clenched fist
A heart in the other, still pulsing
I’ll hear his laugh of release
An echoing cacophony of clashing teeth
Snapping up this name and spitting it out
He despises me
As I despise him
Thus the balance remains
An awkward non-truce
Me on the outside poking him down
Him on the inside reaching up
I feel his talons on my windpipe now
His eyes on the daylight spied through gritted teeth
His words twisting
They’re guiding me
Controlling me
Or…

Brilliance Lending Illumination,
Touching All that I See and Know,
Casting Shadow across Trepidation,
Transcending Spectacle, Masterful Show.
Time Spinning in the Echoing Hush,
Strokes the Hours of Listless Fear,
While Subtle Incantations Rush
Like Streaming Light, Enticing and Clear.
Hallowed Music of Creation,
Singing in the Vast Unknown,
Lyric flowing without Cessation,
Praising Perfection in Evidence Shown.
Diaphanous and Seraphic Song,
Whispering in the Expanse of Night,
Guiding me back where I Belong,
In Blazing, Glorious, Tranquil Light.
Spirit Reaching for Blessed Spirit,
Rhapsody of Harmonious Sound,
Whisper so my Soul may Hear it,
Wandering Lost, by Grace am Found.

#MusicandMuseMonday – Talisman of Purest Pleasure
.
The Space Beyond;
The Realm of Unknown;
Shadows cast upon the void of All that is Seen, Yet not Shown;
Echoes of the Silent past
Singing with the Cryptic Tongue of Time,
Enchantment Whispering of Diligent Rhyme;
Without Measure or Rhythm
Speak of all I don’t know,
Unheard dichotomy of an Intrinsic Show;
Arc of Visible Liquescent Sound
Dancing in the Glow of Night,
Spin your web Beyond these thoughts
Devouring All that was ever Unright
Talisman of Purest Pleasure

#CharacterInteractions- When Fey and Eternals Collide – Part Three
.
“Purpose! I have no purpose, unless it is killing time in awaiting the end? Being alone?
“You’ll always have me,” whimpered the man on the floor. “Always.” Jean silenced him with a kick.
“Must you feel the need to demonstrate your superiority in such ways?” Gairynzvl had never once looked away, his stare continuing to break down any barriers between the two.
Jean sighed, as the Fey shook his imposing wings and cracked his neck.
“All I wish for is peace and quiet. Unfortunately, violence is often the only way to secure it. Especially where Sir Walter Merryweather is concerned,” Jean added.
Gairynzvl glanced at the comatose form on the rooftop, then back to Jean. He appraised the brooding form before him and struck upon a revelation. “You do not desire death; you feel it imposed upon you.”
“Perhaps.”
“And you brood in the darkness because you cannot smile in the light. I do not know your kind completely, not yet, but I sense this true.”
“You see much, winged one.”
“I prefer Gairynzvl.”
“We all prefer something.”
Gairynzvl took a long, deep breath, eyes narrowing, and sniffed. “If light is all you wish for, then it is a gift I may bestow.”
“What?”
“I am Fey, and as such may open portals to worlds other than your own, as you have borne witness to. I can give you light, Jean. And I will if you wish it.”
“I could not stand before it.”
“Not all light is the same.”
The raven of a man staggered backwards. If he had sought to impose himself upon the Fey in a brash display of strength, his actions dismissed that persona. Gairynzvl had offered him the one thing that nobody else ever had or could. Yet Jean remained Eternal, descended of the vampires of old, and the promise of that which he imagined a lie tore at him. The Eternal grew troubled, the red mists falling, clouding his vision, his judgment, his sanity.
Gairynzvl readied himself.

#CharacterInteractions- When Fey and Eternals Collide – Part Two
.
Gairynzvl did not need to be empathic to understand the man facing him was dangerous and he did not need to delve telepathically to know that one wrong word or movement on his part and he could be facing oblivion. It was not a prospect he fancied, so when his lavender-ice stare met the brooding black glare of the stranger’s he lowered his expansive wings in an instinctual indication of deference. The man bore no weapon, but upon closer examination, he realized the dark raven needed none. Glinting from his sardonic grin, twin fangs as foreboding as any wolves warned the Fey of his lethal capacity; thus he stood silently to choose his words wisely before speaking.
“It was not my purpose to cross to wherever this is,” he offered as diplomatically as he might contrive to sound, glancing round him with undeniable curiosity; “any more than it is my intention to interrupt you.”
“It would only have been an interruption if he’d got away.”
Gairynzvl grinned at that, a swift gesture that drew a matching response. “My name is Gairynzvl,” said the Fey offering his hand. “Might I ask where I am?”
“Jean,” replied the man in black, dropping his victim to the graveled rooftop. “And I often ask myself that very same thing.”
The brooding fellow stalked forward, threw his coattails to one side and took the Fey’s hand. Their handshake was swift, but genuine.
The place was not unpleasant, but neither did it overly appeal. Gairynzvl’s eyes swept the night allowing Jean the freedom to appraise him. Though his wings were distinctly peculiar, his powerful physique suggested, if put to it, he would be a formidable opponent.
“Why does the water run red?” the Fey inquired, his feathers rustling in the breeze.
“Because it’s blood.”
“Blood, you say. Hm, this is indeed a strange and wonderful place.”
“If by strange and wonderful, you mean bordering on dead, then yes.”
“First impressions would suggest this a world not bordering on death but of death, albeit a luxurious one.”
“You should never read too much into first impressions, otherwise I’d be offering you bird seed.”
Gairynzvl did not rise to the bait; Jean’s smirk suggested he was impressed.
The two stood together in silent contemplation, gazing out across the Rhineland as though friends for centuries. But Jean could no more hide his bitterness towards life from Gairynzvl than he could the moon from the sky; such were the Fey’s gifts. Hence, the advantage lay with the newcomer.
Twisting round to gaze at the man who lay unconscious where Jean had dropped him, the Fey could not silence the query that escaped him in a markedly sarcastic tone.
“Friend of yours?”
“On occasion.” Jean’s terse reply warned him to go no further down that path. Scoffing with a grin, Gairynzvl returned the banter of the raven glaring at him speculatively.
“Then, although I may not be here long, I shall endeavor to not make you my friend.”
“That would be wise.” The blunt honesty of his deprecating remark mirrored the flood of anger and resentment that rushed from Jean so forcefully the insightful Fey could scarce defend himself from it. The sensation was one the former Legionnaire was all too familiar with and he frowned upon recognizing the other’s pain, but knew better than to remark on it unless he wished to learn, first hand, just what function his fangs performed.
“Where are you going?”
“The Uunglarda.” Jean shook his head.
“Never heard of it. Beyond the borders of New Europa, is it?” Gairynzvl shook his head, gesturing at the darkness from which he had stepped and Jean noticed, for the first time, how in that spot the shadows wavered and warped like the despoiled waters of the Danube below.
“Beyond this realm, although it, too, is a place of darkness and death, unlike my own realm of Light, life and purpose.” Jean sneered.
“Something some of us will never know.” Gairynzvl’s lavender-ice stare captured Jean’s, piercing him to his core.
“Your lifeforce is certainly unusual, but it is as potent as my own and I suspect your purpose is no different.”

#InTheLimeLight – Michelle James / Book Chat Blog
Please allow me to Introduce Michelle James, Quintessential Bookie, Reviewer, and lover of words. Michelle is the author of the blog Book Chat, as well as a reliable source of Encouragement, Friendship and Smiles!
About Her Blog:
Tell us about your Blog.
I started BookChat in June 2013 to share the books I love reading through reviews, as well as to promote the authors of those books. To this end, I do not post any review that I give less than three stars.
I have expanded to reblogging interesting posts that fit into the topic of writing. Occasionally, I enter challenges such as the A to Z Challenge (check out my blog to see how much fun I had with the A-Z). As the proud mom of three sons and grandmother to three grandsons and one granddaughter, you will find an occasional, and hopefully not too obnoxious, post about them.
What Inspires you?
People who challenge themselves to complete tasks they thought difficult, if not impossible. A 90 year old completing a marathon, a giant reaching down to help the helpless, or a community coming together after the unthinkable are a few examples of the types of things that inspire me.
How do you choose what you want to review on your blog?
I read other reviews and book blurbs, and by word of mouth. If it is a dark subject or belongs to a genre I don’t enjoy, I don’t read/review it.
What is the Best part about having a blog all about books?
The best part has to be getting to read ARC’s. I love reading something that isn’t available to the general public yet. It’s the same feeling I think many people get when they peek or open a present before Christmas.
What is the Hardest part about doing a review?
When I read a book and don’t get around to writing a review until the last minute. I don’t work well under pressure. My best reviews are the ones I do as soon as I finish reading a book while everything is fresh. Sometimes I am so engrossed in reading, that I feel as though I am part of the story. That is the very best time to review a book.
About Michelle:
Describe yourself in Five Words.
Loyal, honest, hardworking, caring, thrifty.
Tell us about You when you were a child.
When I was a child, I was rarely without my nose in a book. If I wasn’t reading I could be found climbing trees (did you know that perched in a tree is a delightful place to read a book?) and playing in the forest. Playing a game of football with the neighborhood guys was always fun (they were almost always short one player), but I had to stop and get cleaned up before my dad came home from work – he would not have been too happy to see his daughter tackling and being tackled. When I wasn’t in tomboy mode, I loved to play with dolls (and still do).
I loved school. Math, English, and foreign languages were my favorite subjects.
If you could go anywhere, do anything, regardless of expense, describe your Perfect Day. ( I LOVE her answer!)
Any day, anywhere I can spend with my family is a perfect day.
If you could invite Five People (from the past or present) to a dinner party, who would you invite and why?
John Glenn has to be my first choice because he is a true American hero. He dedicated his life to our country, as a Marine, an astronaut, and as a Senator. If that wasn’t enough, he helped our middle son with a school project when he was in sixth grade. He is a highly intelligent and gracious person and a true patriot.
Emily Dickinson would definitely have to come. It is though her works that I learned to love poetry.
No invitation list would be complete without Louisa Mae Alcott. I started reading her books as a young girl, and she led me from one book to another, engendering my love for reading.
The Tasmanian Devil would be my guest of honor. Taz would grace my party with his wit, charm, and intelligence. He is so light and graceful on his dainty little feet. Speaking of feet, he swept me off mine the first time I saw him.
Last, but not least, I would love my grandmother to join us for dinner. She loved to read and shared her books with me throughout my teen years and up until her death in 1980. She was not only a wonderful, warm, and caring person, she was my greatest role model.
What is your Mantra in Life?
Just do it.
Thank you. Morgan, for inviting me here to BooknVolume today. It was fun chatting with you.
A bit about me…
After college, I entered the workforce, but soon left that behind when my children were born. While raising my sons, I embarked on a fulfilling volunteer path for such groups as our local children’s hospital, church, neighborhood association, PTA, classroom volunteer, Kindervelt, military academy parents’ organization, and Make-a-Wish. Volunteering enabled me to develop lifelong leadership skills and establish an extensive professional and social network. Of course, I have always been a voracious reader, seeking out books that are both fulfilling and enjoyable.
I am married to my soul mate and have three amazing adult sons and two wonderful daughters-in-law. My grandchildren (three grandsons and one granddaughter) bring me the greatest joy imaginable.

The Melding of Aeris by D. Wallace Peach #BookReview
.
Generations ago, the realms fell to fire. The Burn–the only means of destroying a lush land so manipulated by man that while its crops sated hunger, they poisoned the flesh. Now the wilderness slowly reseeds, hard lessons learned through starvation, displacement, and poverty.
What remains for nature’s tinkerers? Pathway, the coveted distillation that enables the grafting of skin across species. The Sahls of the Sea Barrows meld spiral horns to their skulls, reptilian scale to their chests. They embed the razor teeth of sea-beasts in the bones of their forearms and replace the flesh on their backs with the pelts of wolves. Women of wealth adorn their bodies with serpent skin as elegant as black lace, tufted tails, and plumed feathers, their own skin cast off, no longer desirable. Then they bear children…creatures like Aeris, a man who longs to be human. Too late, he discovers the truth–there is only one source of human skin. Trapped in the flesh of a murdered man, Aeris joins a dogged crew of transfigured renegades. Their goal–to destroy Pathway, no matter the cost.
*******
I took on reading The Melding of Aeris because I found the concept of his world/reality particularly creative and unique. Humans who are no longer human longing to be human again. Aeris’ story tugged at my heart when I began to realize that, for all its craft, the story was one many of us can relate to: learning to accept and love ourselves in order to turn whatever challenges we may personally or internally face into a positive contribution. Change comes at a cost, sometimes a high cost, but the concept of merging animal and human features all for hollow beautification spoke clearly, to me at least, about how easy it is to be shallow and superficial; the price of which can be devastating.
Although the world in which Aeris resides is brutal and often downright violent, I soon discovered that he felt as much abhorrence for his reality as I might have done and his struggle to do what he knows is right helped to keep me connected to him and his tale, in spite of the bizarreness of his world and those in it. At times, I did find myself raising an astonished brow, particularly during the few intimate scenes, but the moral integrity of the tale prevailed. Change is a sacrifice worth fighting for, even when it requires rebelling against everything that is commonly held as acceptable.
A Fantastic flight of fantasy with a poignant Purpose. 4-Stars!

#FridayFantasy – Sighing Supposition
.
Sighing Supposition
Of a Breathless Imposition,
Quietude of Solicitude
Breaking through the dark Transition
Reaching ‘cross the barrenness,
Beyond the Sweet, Ethereal Void;
The Temptation of Unspoken Yearning
Delicately Employed.
Your words, mere Whispers
Touching without Hands;
Your Touch, soft Shivers,
Delightfully unplanned!
Cacophony of sighs
Singing Beguilement to my Heart;
Sighing Supposition
Your Love’s Sweet counterpart!
