What you may not know about Amazon product links!

Readers always ask me to provide a product link for their specific country. But I'm going to provide something better - a way for you, the reader, to quickly get the product link for your country. Here are a few quick tricks... 1. Change the .com suffix of a URL to your preferred country. For example, if you live in the United Kingdom and see a product link for a book in the USA that reads https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07NLFPSNG, it's a simple matter to change the .com to .co.uk in the original URL to get your link. The link will become https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07NLFPSNG. As you can see by the examples below, the USA .com URL link was changed to the UK, Canada, and Australia URL suffix, in that order. The rest of the URL remains the same. 2. Option two is just as easy. All books are assigned an ASIN number through Amazon. Also known as the Amazon Standard Identification Number. Basically, it's an identification number for any product they sell. Once a product is published through Amazon, that ASIN number never goes away. This is the same for books. (Believe me, I've tried to make it disappear for some of my older works. The Amazon reps assure me that's never going to happen.) The ASIN number can be found under the PRODUCT DETAILS of the book in question. See image below. If you copy the ASIN and paste it into the Amazon search engine for your preferred country, the book will populate for your search. See the images below for the UK example.3. You can utilize an Amazon shortcut. Wait, what?! Amazon has a shortcut?! YEP! If an vendor provides you with an amzn.to link, it should take you directly to your country's Amazon product page. This is an affiliate link created for the vendor's use. You can see by the image below, that Amazon will recognize the code as that belonging to a specific product, in this case, LONG LOST MAGIC, book 6 in my Thorne Witches series. So if your fingers are feeling a little tired but you want to explore the Zon, just type amzn.to in the browser bar. No https:// needed. :) I hope you found this article helpful. Tune in next time, when I discuss online reviews. Peace & Peppermint Hugs,T.M. Cromer

T.M. Interviews The Thorne Witches - Part One

I had the great pleasure to be invited by the Thornes to their house for breakfast. As I arrived, a toe-curling whiff of cinnamon-y goodness shot straight up my nose and into the addiction center of my brain the second Summer Thorne opened the massive mahogany door Preston Thorne had found during his travels some years ago.“Dear GAWD, woman! Is that smell what I think it is?” I blurted. Her light laughter rang out, and she gave me the hug of an old friend. Perhaps she recognized I’m spastic and had an ingrained love of everything with fur. Summer gestured for me to kick my shoes off in the foyer and follow her. "Yep! Winnie made her cinnamon rolls for the occasion.”“Can I live here? Pretty please with frosting on top? I promise I won’t take up much space.”Again, she laughed. “Come meet the family.”I’d pictured the Thornes a million times in my mind, but none of my imaginings could do justice to the group. Summer was fresh, bright, and caring. Winnie, the homebody of the family, moved around the kitchen with the grace and style of a ballroom dancer: light-footed and yet quick with her hands fluttering about. Spring, who was already sitting at the table, looked at me with a curious but shrewd gaze. I glanced around the small kitchen to appease my own curiosity. While it had an element of Old World charm with the rustic cabinets, the appliances were all top of the line. I eyed the double oven with envy. Oh, the croissants I could bake in those bad boys! “Where’s Autumn?”“In the attic, spying on Holly and Quentin. She views the scrying mirror as her own personal Hallmark channel.” Winnie’s dry tone wasn’t lost on me. I knew enough about Autumn to know her snarky, rough persona covered a die-hard romantic. “Will they be joining us?” I was only human, and wanted to catch a glimpse of the drool-worthy Quentin Buchanan. Spring shot me a knowing smile and shook her head. “I’m afraid not today.”“Knox?” I asked, hopefully. Her musical laugher rang out. I took that as a no. Damn.Less than a minute later, Winnie set a dinner-plate-sized cinnamon roll in front of me, and I forgot all about my obsession with their men. “Holy shitballs! Is this all for me?”I may have had to wipe a little spittle from the side of my mouth when I saw the icing ooze over the golden side. “All yours,” Winnie confirmed with a soft smile. Right before I made a glutton of myself, I had to ask, “Is there a chance Alastair will be dropping by?” I didn’t want to take the risk of him seeing me at my worst and shoving my face into that carb-loaded piece of heaven. “I don’t think so.” Summer reached around me to rip off a section of the roll for herself. I curbed my desire to stab her with a fork and growl like a wolf over its fresh kill. “He’s meddling into Holly and Quentin’s relationship. That mess is going to require all his attention for the time being.”I loved her honesty. I knew a little about their aborted romance and rocky relationship. “Should I ask my questions now or wait until after we’ve pigged out?”“Go ahead and ask away.” Winnie joined us at the table and picked up her tea cup. But I couldn’t, because the first taste of her baking hit my tongue and my eyes rolled so far back in my head, I’m sure I saw my own brain matter. “Fuck me, this is good!”All three women laughed, and Summer reached forward again. I arched a brow in her direction. “Uh, not to be ungrateful or split hairs, but didn’t she say this was all mine?”“Hush, or I’ll set Saul and Rocco after your butt.” At the threat of the squirrel mafia, my own wicked sense of humor kicked in. “Did Coop really overhear them planning to castrate Eddie?”“You should’ve seen him; he was practically green when he saw Saul with that razor knife.”Of course, I had to know, “Do things like that happen often in the animal barn?”“With Saul and Eddie, anything is possible.” Summer snitched another piece of what had now become the community cinnamon roll. “When it isn’t them, it’s Morty.”Because I’m in love with the idea of pet chimpanzee, I asked, “Do I get to meet the infamous Sir Mortimer in person?”“Sure, if you don’t mind teleporting to my North Carolina residence.”The idea of teleporting was both terrifying and cool at the same time. “As long as I’m home by dinner.” Again, the three women laughed. I glanced down at my notebook and skimmed through the questions I’d meant to ask. One caught my eye. “One sister married, one engaged, both with babies on the way, what about you and Spring?” I asked Summer.Spring smiled mysteriously and allowed Summer to field the question. “Pfft. Coop and I would need to settle on which location we intend to live at first. He’s already breaking the Sheriff’s Office rules by living out of state.”I paused with another piece of cinnamon roll halfway to my mouth. “Coop, breaking the rules? I don’t believe it.”“Believe it. Since he’s come into his powers, he…” she trailed off and blushed. “Well, now you have to spill,” I told her.Summer cast a look between her sisters, her face flaming brighter. “He likes sex in public.”We all stared in shock.“But with a cloaking spell in place!” she was quick to add. I couldn’t hold back my amusement. “That dirty dog! Well, that’s one way to spice things up.”“Oh, it doesn’t need spicing.” The snarky tone signaled the entry of the fourth person in the sisterly quartet. “Coop and Summer nearly set the barn on fire more times than I can count.”I could feel the heat coming off of Summer’s skin from where she sat next to me. She glared at Autumn. “Shut it! We have company.”Autumn gave a careless shrug and strode to the coffee pot. “It’s just Tara. It’s not like she doesn’t know how we are.”I widened my eyes and made a face. She wasn’t wrong. This family lived inside my head 24/7. I had a good idea of what went on in their lives. It was the downtime I wanted to know about. “A few of my readers are curious about your lives. Mind if I get down to the Q&A business?”Autumn waved a hand for me to proceed. It was easy to see why she always appeared to be in charge. She had a fiery, larger-than-life air about her. I liked her immediately. I could see us hanging over a pitcher of margaritas and trading good-natured insults. “Okay, question one: What is your greatest fear?”Autumn’s eyes took on a haunted look as she glanced at Spring. “Loss of family.”The soft commiserating smile Spring sent her in return said it all. Of course, I knew what she referred to, but I had to agree, losing family was the worst sort of pain. “I think we can all agree. But next to that?”They all shrugged and remained silent. “I guess when you are a badass witch, you don’t fear much?” Laughter rumbled around the table. “Okay, question two: Which living person do you most admire?”“Alastair.” Three out of the four chorused, with Summer nodding her agreement. “I know he’s my favorite, but I wasn’t sure how you all felt,” I said, not looking up from where I was jotting my notes. “I’m flattered.” The deep, amused voice from somewhere behind me startled me so badly, I jerked my pen across my notebook and fumbled my plate. I’d never even felt the air shift or heard the crackle in the atmosphere that the witches seemed to take for granted as a warning when someone teleports. “OHMYGOD! Alastair Thorne!” He was even more delicious in person. He wore his arrogance around him like a cloak. But what was more, what I had always suspected was the wicked humor that shone brightly from his blue eyes. Eyes that penetrated right into my very soul. Eyes that saw everything. I shivered and swallowed hard. Please, please, please don’t let him be able to read my mind, I prayed to the Goddess, Universe, or whatever other entity might be tuned in. If he could, I was done for. I’d never live through the embarrassment. He unfolded his arms, and my gaze locked onto his chest. He wasn’t big or bulky, but the definition of muscle definitely resided under that form fitting T-shirt. I frowned in my confusion. Since when did Alastair wear a T-shirt and jeans? I opened my mouth to ask, but by then he was filling the space between me and Summer to snag a piece of the cinnamon roll. A thin thread of icing trailed over his fingers, and my desire to lick it off was overpowering. I was forced to look away. His soft chuckle warmed my insides, and I’m sure I was as red as Summer had been minutes before when she confessed about Coop’s sexual proclivities. “Back to my interview.” If my voice was a wee bit higher than normal, no one said, although there were a few amused glances passed about. “Which living person do you most despise?”“I’d think that would be obvious,” Alastair snorted as he took a chair at the head of the table. “Zhu Lin.”I shot a quick glance in Spring’s direction. “It’s okay,” she told me with a half-smile. “It doesn’t bother me. I think you have a good idea what I’ve done.”“You were tame in comparison to me,” I assured her.Alastair’s delighted grin brought more color to my cheeks. “That’s why we all adore you, Tara.”I was surprised he used my first name and hadn’t called me “child” as he was want to do. Maybe he reserved that for his family, or perhaps he viewed me as something other than a child. I could work with that. Or at least I could if I wasn’t married and he wasn’t in love with Aurora Gillespie-Thorne. “This question is for Alastair; what do you consider your biggest accomplishment?” His eyes warmed considerably as they settled on Summer. “My children. Although to be honest, I had no real hand in raising any of them. But I’d like to think good genetics had something to do with their turning out to be intelligent, accomplished individuals.” “And your biggest failure?” I asked softly, perhaps a little afraid of pissing him off. When he looked at me, I had the distinct feeling I already knew what his answer would be. And he knew I knew. A wry smile curled his lips. “Lin.” One word said it all. “I’m sorry.” Why I felt the need to apologize, I don’t know, but I did. Maybe it was the hell they’d all gone through. I should’ve kept the interview fun and light. I glanced down at my notebook in search of a question to lighten the mood again. “Which talent would you most like to have?” “I want to play the tuba,” Winnie quipped. I blurted “Bullshit!” before I could stop myself. The family laughed when I sneezed. And while I’d never conjured mice with a sneeze before, I glanced around with apprehension. Who the hell knew what went on in the magical world of the Thornes? TO BE CONTINUED...

An Idea Comes To Life

Many people wonder where I get my ideas for my stories. How do the characters come to life? Am I a pantster, or do I carefully outline and plot each book accordingly? How do I know when to quit and end the story?I'll take these questions in order.1. I have no freaking clue where these ideas come from. That's the god's honest truth. I can be waiting in line at a coffehouse, see an old man whisper to his lovely companion, and boom! I'm wondering how they came to meet. And when I'm not bold enough to ask, I weave a story from my imagination. Also, my creativity is sparked by other authors and artists. We can start discussing a topic, and the next thing you know, we're all plotting out some outrageous story while laughing like loons. That's the simple fact of the matter.2.  Characters live in my head 24/7.There's no real respite from the people living in my brain. Am I crazy? Perhaps. But all day, my mind is alight with scenarios and what type of people would respond in each instance. These flights of fancy are how my characters actually come to life. Because I write romance, a scene usually starts with a man and a woman. It progresses to dialogue, and from there, plays out to become a whole chapter. Next thing you know, I have three chapters of a new novel written. If the scene plays out and can fit into a current work-in-progress, then I use it. Otherwise, it becomes a whole new storyline.3. I'm a total pantster. What is a pantster, you ask? I'll be happy to tell you. A pantster is an author who writes by the seat of their pants, making things up as they go along. No outline. No schedule. They sit down and type out whatever pops into their mind. If the a plot twist occurs, a plot twist is added.Damn the torpedoes, full speed ahead! As a pantster, I get irritated with myself because I don't have a more disciplined approach. But then, I receive feedback from readers, telling me how much they love my plot twists, and I have to admit, it's a heady sensation.4.  When I'm bored.Bottom line is, when I get bored with the story I'm writing, I move on. About 70,000 words are my absolute max, or I'm dying inside. Novellas are quick and fun to whip up, but I have a more accomplished feeling by creating a full-length novel. So if we're actually counting here, about 55,000 words would be my sweet spot. Anything more, and I am fighting to continue on. Anything less, I feel as if I didn't do the story justice. But sometimes, I get the shorter ones right, and I'm a happy camper. I'm very similar to Tom Hanks in the movie Castaway. I dance around, lift my hands, and look for anyone to see proof of my awesomeness. My dog Tink is never impressed. She only cares about playing ball. Writing is evil, as it takes her mom away from paying attention to her all day.And on that note, I'll bring this little blog entry to a close. But not before I add a photo of my adorable beastie. This is Tink as my co-captain, during a kayak excursion on the local lake. "There are geese out there, Mama! Let's get 'em!"

NY Tines & USA Today Bestselling Author Sharon Hamilton

Bio: NYT and USA/Today and Amazon Top 100 Bestselling Author Sharon Hamilton’s SEAL Brotherhood series have earned her Amazon author rankings of #1 in Romantic Suspense, Military Romance and Contemporary Romance. Her characters follow a sometimes rocky road to redemption through passion and true love. Her Golden Vampires of Tuscany earned her a #1 Amazon author ranking in Gothic Romance.A lifelong organic vegetable and flower gardener, Sharon and her husband live in the Wine Country of Northern California, where most of her stories take place.* * *I began writing 7 year ago after a house fire that destroyed just about everything of value. I had a successful real estate career, and wanted a change. I asked for a brief leave of absence and the rest is history. I started writing when I was 60.Genre:I write Romantic Suspense (SEAL Brotherhood Series), as well as paranormal (Golden Vampires of Tuscany and The Guardians). Mostly what I’m known for are my Navy SEAL romances.Plot Ideas:From everywhere, from living and raising 4 kids. Almost everything can spur an idea for a story. I met my narrator 3+ years ago, and after talking to him about the music business, I created Nashville SEAL, my newest release. His story of being a young singer-songwriter inspired this story, and he gave me permission to embellish it (of course) and use it. Then he sang and narrated in it as well.Inspiration:Doing the right and honorable thing inspires me. Seeing people who work hard without the fanfare, and of course, watching a son become a Navy SEAL. It was a special treat to go through that with him and hatched so many stories about the community. No national secrets of course.Brain Food:I like chocolate. Give me some and I don’t shut up. I drink gallons of coffee and suger free energy drinks too. Cheese. I go lighter when I’m finishing a book.Difficult Scene:Depends. When a couple breaks up, I usually cry for a day afterwards. I want to be emotional. A fight scene? I choreograph it a bit. Have to remember where the arms and legs are. A sex scene? Same as for a fight scene. It has to feel real to me.Drafts:Only one, but edited 3-4 times.Time Off:About a week to two weeks in between books.Books For Sale:Everything is on my website. I can’t list all the links to the 24 books. Just refer them to my books page on my website. All the buying links should be here.http://authorsharonhamilton.com/books.phpLatest Project:Fredo’s Dream. This is book 2 of the Fredo and Mia story. Fredo finds out in Book 1 he cannot father children. In book 2 there will be a neat plot twist. He is one of the most beloved characters I’ve written. Fredo is shorter, with a pockmarked face, a wide nose, a unibrow that he thinks is unmanly to tweeze,  and isn’t good looking like the other SEALs. But he got Mia, Armando’s Puerto Rican sister, and the most beautiful of all the SEAL wives. Finally! She hung around with gang bangers earlier in the series, and Fredo rescued her several times. He has grown to love another man’s child as his own, and now Mia wants her child with him. So in Book 2, we are dealing with that.Fredo’s Secret is Book 1, a novella, available on all retailers and in print, audio as well.Fredo’s Dream will be out November 7thHobbies:I quilt and have been an organic gardener for 40 years. I love growing roses and flowers of all kinds.Advice:Darynda Jones gave me the best advice:  “Don’t write for the market, but find something in the market you can write.”Indie/Agent:I am a happy Indie author with no plans to do otherwise. I have no desire to be a big house author. I doubt anyone would be able to match my income with advances.Favorite Author:Nailini Singh, Kressley Cole for paranormal (haven’t read Kressley Cole’s contemporary ones). I love the depth of writing of Diana Gabaldon.LINKS FOR SHARON:Email: sharonhamilton2001@gmail.comWebsite:www.AuthorSharonHamilton.comNewsletter Sign-up:http://authorsharonhamilton.com/contact.php#mailing-listFacebook:https://www.facebook.com/SharonHamiltonAuthor Twitter:https://twitter.com/sharonlhamilton YouTube:http://www.youtube.com/channel/UCDInkxXFpXp_4Vnq08ZxMBQGoogle+https://plus.google.com/+SharonHamiltonAuthor/postsGoodreads:https://www.goodreads.com/author/show/5752621.Sharon_HamiltonAmazon Author Page:http://www.amazon.com/Sharon-Hamilton/e/B004FQQMAC Tsu:https://www.tsu.co/SEALRomance

BESTSELLING AUTHOR DONNA ALWARD

Brief Bio: While bestselling author Donna Alward was busy studying Austen, Eliot and Shakespeare, she was also losing herself in the breathtaking stories created by romance novelists like LaVyrle Spencer, Judith McNaught, and Nora Roberts. Several years after completing her degree she decided to write a romance of her own and it was true love! Five years and ten manuscripts later she sold her first book and launched a new career. While her heartwarming stories of love, hope, and homecoming have been translated into several languages, hit bestseller lists and won awards, her very favorite thing is when she hears from happy readers.Donna lives on Canada’s east coast with her family which includes a husband, a couple of kids, a senior dog and two crazy cats. When she’s not writing she enjoys reading (of course!), knitting, gardening, cooking…and is a Masterpiece Theater addict. You can visit her on the web atwww.DonnaAlward.comand join her mailing list atwww.DonnaAlward.com/newsletter.Facebook:www.facebook.com/DonnaAlwardAuthor  Twitter:@DonnaAlwardQ:  At what point did you decide to make writing a profession? What got you started inthe industry?A:  Once I finished my first full-length novel, I knew writing was what I wanted to do for a job. But I didn’t know where to start, so I surfed the web and joined the Harlequin online community. There was a ton of info to get me started, and I began the process of submitting and subsequently being rejected. ☺Q: How long have you been writing?A:  Short answer: Forever. Long answer: I seriously sat down to write a novel in October of 2001. What came out was a romance, and I never looked back. I wrote ten manuscripts before I sold, in 2006, and to date I’m creeping ever closer to that 50th book milestone. I’m contracted up to book 49…Q:  What is your genre?A:  I’m a contemporary girl all the way – and mostly small town contemporary. It’s where I feel at home.Q:  If you could write in any other genre, what would it be?A:  Hands down, Regencies. I ADORE THEM. They are my not-so-secret reading pleasure.  The idea of writing one puts the fear of God in my heart. I have a ton of respect for historical authors.Q:  Where do you get your plot ideas?A:  At this point, I’m a slave to the power of suggestion. My editor can say, “Do you know what I’d love to see?” and I’ll come up with something with that trope. I love it when people give me nuggets of ideas and then I can run with them. And if I get stuck, I have some brainstorming buddies that are very entertaining and helpful.Q: Who or what inspires you?A:  Oh my. I don’t know if I can name names right now. But I can tell you WHAT inspires me. Kindness. Compassion. Forgiveness. Generosity. Patience. The art of listening. Just ordinary people being good people.Q:  Do you have a favorite “brain food,” a.k.a. snack food, when writing?A:  Coffee. Wine. Depending on the time of day.Q:  How do you approach a difficult scene? Do you tackle it head on or take time to mullit over?A:  Oh, I’m a head on girl. I just write through it…I can fix it later.Q:  In general, how many drafts and edits do you go through per novel?A:  Short answer: one. Long answer: my process is such that I edit as I go. I always go over the previous day’s work before moving forward. If I know I messed something up, I’ll flag it or fix it at the time and keep going. But when I get about ¾ of the way through, I go back to the beginning and spend some time layering and ensuring the focus is right, and then I write the ending. So when I get to the end, I’m actually DONE.Q:  Because the writing process is all-consuming, how do you re-energize yourself andgear up for the next novel? Do you take time off?A:  *laughs maniacally* Who has time for time off? LOL. Seriously, I have to refill the well on a daily or at least weekly basis. There are usually tasks that need to be done once a book is in, so I take a few days to get those in order and then start on the next.Q:  What book(s) do you currently have for sale?A:  Right now my St. Helena Kindle Worlds novella, Last Chance Lullaby, is out, and I also have a holiday story in a print anthology with Jennifer Crusie and Mandy Baxter on the shelves. Here’s a bit about CHRISTMAS AT SEASHELL COTTAGE, a story in my Jewell Cove series from St. Martin’s:It’s Christmas in Jewell Cove…And local doctor Charlie Yang finds her quiet, steady life disrupted by both an abandoned baby in the nativity manger, and a real-life mystery man. Sure, she’s always wanted a family of her own, but she didn’t imagine it coming from a baby that wasn’t hers and a man who was more interested in living day by day than making long-term plans.Ex-SEAL Dave Ricker hadn’t planned on making Jewell Cove his forever home, but the talented and tender-hearted Charlie has him reconsidering his position on settling down. Can a beautiful woman, adorable baby and a small-town full of holiday spirit change his mind for good?http://www.donnaalward.com/christmas-seashell-cottageQ:  What is your latest project and when can we expect its release?A:  I have a brand new series starting in February from St. Martin’s – the DARLING, VT series which launches with Somebody Like You. It’s followed in March and April by Someone to Love and Somebody’s Baby.Q:  Which of all your novels do you hold closest to your heart? Why?A:  That’s like asking which of your children is your favorite! LOL Not really, but there are a few that will always be very special. They are ones that were either very personal in nature, or ones where I took a risk. I loved HER LONE COWBOY, which featured an amputee hero and I just fell in love with him. Then HOW A COWBOY STOLE HER HEART had a breast cancer survivor heroine, and it finalled in the RITAs, so that was super special. THE HOUSE ON BLACKBERRY HILL was my first single title length release, and it felt like such a huge accomplishment. And TREASURE ON LILAC LANE was a fave to write, but the revision process was gruelling, and then when I read the finished product, I truly appreciated my editor’s talent and patience. She knew exactly what the book needed to be, and how to get me to get it there.Q:  Do you have any hobbies outside of writing?A: I knit, I read, I do yoga, I play badminton…nothing that I’m super into, but various things that fill my creative well. I have one kid in her first year of college and another in high school, so I’m actually still pretty busy with kid stuff.Q.  What is the most profound piece of advice you would offer a newbie to the industry?A:  Learn your craft. Don’t be in a rush to publish your first book. There are a lot of different avenues to publication, but they should always begin with a strong, compelling, well-written story.Q:  Do you favor self-publication or trying to sign with an agent and going the majorpublication route? Why?A:  Personally, I’m a major publisher kind of girl. I started my career at Harlequin and Samhain, and now write for St. Martin’s Press (and have an agent). I’ve done some indie projects, and last year I finally made peace with the fact that I don’t enjoy the process nearly as much.  I decided to take the path that let me feel most fulfilled as a writer. But it’s different for everyone. The fact that we have more options now than we did when I started writing is a really great thing.Q:  Do you have a favorite author or one you would recommend?A:  My fave author of all time is retired – LaVyrle Spencer. And I read really widely. Some contemporary, a LOT of historical, some YA (I also freelance edit, so I get a pretty wide variety that way). I’ve read a lot of non-fiction this year, both about business and about creativity and life as a writer and in particularly, as a woman. It’s been so long since I glommed a series! But I can tell you that I’ve glommed series by Mary Balogh and Suzie Enoch and I’ve got my eye on a huge series by Julie Ann Long. Also, Jennifer Robson is an autobuy for me.
