Plum Blossom Maiden- small A fairy tale is very like a poem ~ or a dream.

Plum blossom maiden dances in the moonlight. From her kimono sleeves, dreams flutter to earth like blossoms borne on the breeze.

“Plum Blossom Maiden” is both fairy tale and prose-poem. It was inspired by my fascination with dreams and my appreciation for Japanese art and poetry. It is aesthetically simple, subtle, and symbolic ~ like a haiku or a Japanese watercolor.

The moon shone like silver on a landscape of snow and night. In the distance, something stirred. It was a deer with magnificent antlers.
