No One Gets Out Alive: Movie Review

It’s the month of spooks and pumpkins! I hope you’ve been thinking about your prompts for me! My week-long writing challenge is coming up!

I think it will be good for me. Because I’ve been focusing on my novel, I’ve been missing the immediate gratification you get when you write short fiction!

So keep an eye out, Oct 25th is when it will start!

The Movie

Desperate and without documentation, a woman from Mexico moves into a rundown Cleveland boardinghouse. Then the unsettling c...

The Rules of the Road: Book Review

Lately I have had the travel itch so bad. I have been thinking that even a small trip would be fun, maybe renting a cabin or something. Anything really would be nice.

And speaking of travelling, let’s segue into my review! The author did send me a free copy in exchange for a review but, of course, my following review is completely my own honest opinion!

The AuthorC.B. Jones

C.B. Jones is an author from somewhere in the middle of America. His work has appeared on The NoSleep Podcast and in Co...

Midnight Mass – Show Review

How long has it been since I reviewed a TV show? Midnight Mass just came out and I may have binged the entire thing on my little vacation away from writing. Oh well.

As always, I keep anything spoilery after my little spoiler-line so avoid going past it if you haven’t finished the series yet.

The Show

An isolated island community experiences miraculous events – and frightening omens – after the arrival of a charismatic, mysterious young priest.

– Midnight Mass Netflix landing pag...

Why hello! I am back from my little vacation and I’m here with an anthology review.

Disclaimer: I was given an ARC of this anthology for review but everything I’ve written is my honest opinion!

A PLM-Cation

Happy Monday everyone!

You may have noticed that I didn’t post anything last Thursday and now you see a new post that is obviously not about a review. Regular readers (you know who you are, you beautiful cutie pies) will know that I have a bad habit of overloading my plate at times and I spend most of my free time working on my writing and everything else, not leaving much time to just take a break. As such, I am very good at burning myself out!

As such, I decided to take a week off so I c...

The Luminous Dead: Book Review

Hello, hello lovely reader!

Before the review, let’s chat the Colorado Festival of Horror (COFOH)!

Being completely honest, it felt weird to go to a convention and be close to a crowd, but I also enjoyed being out at a horror convention again! The event was small, though it made sense since this was COFOH’s first convention ever. There was a vendor room, a handful of panel rooms, a film room, and various activities. They even had a special convention beer!

I think COFOH is off to a...

Carmilla, The Moth Diaries, and Jennifer’s Body

Hi everyone! Today, I wanted to do a special blog post, mainly because I recently rewatched Jennifer’s Body and was struck by its similarities to the novella, Carmilla, that I never noticed before.

Because of that, I wanted to look at the similarities, as well as highlighting another favourite movie of mine called The Moth Diaries.

Let’s dive in with a look at the novella that started it all:

Carmilla

For some nights I slept profoundly; but still every morning I felt the same ...
