Download Windows 10 Icons

App + Service Icons Picture The OneDrive link contains four folders, two called "black" and two called "white" each with its respective color of the icons. Each color has .png and .ico versions. Each icon is 256 x 256 and supports transparency. I found most of these icons by hunting in the Windows 10 system files.

To download them, click the "Download" button below! Picture System + Folder Icons Picture Two folders here, one is virtually a direct extraction of the .dll files in Windows 10, and...

I'm Officially an Author!

With the launch of my Beyond Tweeting book, I can now upgrade my profile here on GoodReads.

I'm excited to enter the world of published authors. Starting out with a Kindle-only release is considered amateur by some, but that's OK. It's a start, we'll see where this goes.

If you have any questions for me or would be interested in connecting, let me know!

Here's a link to my book if you haven't had a chance to check it out yet: Beyond Tweeting: Build Influence on Twitter

Aliases Can Be Handy

Picture Think of an alias like an alternative path to the same destination. It can apply to domain names, subdomains, and email addresses.

For example, Blogger and Tumblr allow for custom URLs for FREE. If you own your own domain name, you can turn your blog into [domain].com or blog.[domain].com.

Or you can get ashort URL!Like dvdv.kim.If paired with the bit.ly service, you can share and track your own branded URLs and track clicks. With bit.ly you can have the root domain forward to your websi...

The Implications of Microsoft's Flat UI in Relation to HoloLens

Picture The "new" Microsoft is growing out of itsadolescent stage.

Post-Vista Microsoft has been stepping up its gameinthe consumer space by making authentically-digital software and even entering the world of hardware with Surface and Lumia.

Part of this re-branding was a significant aesthetic shift from glossy icons to flat, minimalist design elements.

A difficult part of this shift was convincing consumersthat this change was good.

Some decried Microsoft's UI and UX change to flatness, simple ic...

Thoughts on Principles of Microsoft's Design language

Picture For the most part, something constructed in the Microsoft Design language is built with dark backgrounds andwhite text in the Segoe UI typeface. The Segoe UI family is a sans-serif font, which is more easily read in the digital medium.

Large type represents the top of a hierarchy of text, such as a heading. Sometimes all caps or all non-caps can be used to represent an identity as an element in the interface, rather than a piece of copy or part of a body of text.

Elements are generally ori...
