Comment on 6 Essential Insights on The Future from Warren Buffett and Charlie Munger by Taylor Pearson

Thanks for the kind words Mark. Awareness of your strengths and, perhaps more importantly, weaknesses is something I’m growing more and more fond of as a really valuable skill.

Great article, Taylor.

I’ve wanted something like clippings.io for ages but didn’t know it existed. Thanks!

Comment on 6 Essential Insights on The Future from Warren Buffett and Charlie Munger by Mark Harrison

First of all I want to thank you Taylor for your essays that are very well researched and allow for deep thought. Buffet likes to focus and that is probably one of his strengths too. He knows what he is good at and goes all in, in that direction. He does not preach diversification which is very contrarian too, at least in the investment space.

Comment on Fingerspitzengefühl: What Elite Tank Commanders, Chess Grandmasters, and Entrepreneurs Have in Common by Taylor Pearson

I’m amazed at high level athletes. I used to play football with a guy who had this amazing sense of the angles and how they were changing. It would look like a wall and he could find just the spot to squeeze through at just the right second.

Same goes for sport. Teaching my kids basketball, I’ve encouraged them to look at the greats. You can see that the ball looks like an extension of their hands. Check out a great football (soccer) player, and the ball is an extension of his/her foot. It becomes so natural that doing the seemingly impossible is a matter of instinct without having to think about how to control the ball. Great article, Taylor. Going into my Evernote!

Great article Taylor. The research regarding selecting the best car is quite fascinating.

Tough word to pronounce but great concept. For me this reinforces “going with your gut”. I think about when I chose Syracuse as my school. There was no math involved it was simply a gut feeling. I think this is especially hard for entrepreneurs as we LOVE de-risking things via systems, processes or formulas.
