My TBR pile…

Hello all,

I just thought I’d share a little reading update. As I posted previously, I decided to finally read the Harry Potter series. I’m loving the heck out of it, but I feel like it’s taking me forever and meanwhile, my TBR list is a mile high! I’ve continued to feed my one-click addiction…the struggle is real, folks!

I started the Harry Potter series in mid-Agust and am currently reading Deathly Hallows. I feel like I’m struggling with this one a bit. It’s so dark and depressing- I’ve been reading for 5 days and this is my progress:

I normally read 1-2 books per week, so I feel like this is taking forever. I find myself re-reading paragraphs slowly to make sure I really understand what’s happening. Don’t get me wrong, I am enjoying it. It’s just so emotionally draining that I’m perhaps reading less per day than I normally would.

I thought I’d share a few books that have filled my kindle carousel while I read this series. If you’ve read them, let me know what you think! I don’t know which book to start with once I’m done with Harry. If you haven’t maybe you should check them out- they all look really good!

This is Part 1 of a full novel and is free on Amazon! It’s about a girl who can see how people will die when she touches them. I’m really excited about this one, even though it’s not the full story. I read Shearwater by Murphy, another FREE book and fell in love with his writing style and storytelling.

3. Sanctuary by Melle Amade

 

Sanctuary is a paranormal romance shifter novel about a girl who must submit to her fury and become…something- I don’t know what, I haven’t read it yet!- in order to save those she loves at the risk of losing her own humanity. #1 Bestseller

4.  Configured by Jenetta Penner

5. Air Awakens by Elise Kova

In the natural flow of the story, I could imagine myself in the Winter Court, seeing everything our heroine Gwen saw for the first time. Kalan made me swoon, as did Ian. The next book in the series can’t come soon enough.

If you like stories of the Fae, please do yourself a favor and check this book out!! Amazing!

Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets

Ahhhhh, I’ve finished it.

I talked about, in my video review of Sorcerer’s Stone, how I’ve seen the movie so many times, that I knew what was going to happen and anticipated every scene. With this book, it was a little different. Sure, I’ve seen Chamber of Secrets, but only two or three times. I couldn’t remember everything, so it was almost like discovering this adventure for the first time.

Sure, I knew the major points about Tom Riddle, the basilisk, and Dobby’s ultimate freedom, but I forgot lot, too. A lot. So there was a certain wonder in following Harry, Ron, and Hermione through their escapades.

The story is beautifully written. I was totally absorbed into this magical world and didn’t want to put it down. I felt my heart race and my blood pumping through my veins, I laughed, and yes, once again, I cried. Basically, I was left with all the feels.

I’m so glad I finally decided to read these books. And I’m really excited for Prisoner of Azkaban! I’ve only seen that one all the way through once, so other than knowing the truth about Sirius Black, I’m going in totally blind! Yay!!!
