With the League of Independent Operatives series wrapped, what’s coming next?

A full-on space opera series, that’s what. Introducing the Parse Galaxy! Scroll down for the book description and a Q&A about the series 🙂

Ready to dive in now? You can get a free story that’s set in the Parse Galaxy when you sign up for my newsletter. It’s called “Highly Irregular,” and it’s a space heist, and it’s a lot of fun. Grab the story here: https://dl.bookfunnel.com/ayteyi3wts

Surprise! Valentine’s Day is for Sci Fi, Right?

I decided to randomly drop a short story collection today. Not because it’s particularly romantic (it’s really not) but because I thought it’d be fun.

You can order Remain Alert: Science Fiction Stories in ebook and paperback from your favorite online retailer!

AmazonAppleBarnes & NobleGoogle PlayKoboEverywhere else (and paperback links!)

Now, because the ebook sample shows an introductory flash fiction piece and the beginning of one of the more somber stories in the book, I decided to ...

I’m honored and excited to have a book in this bundle! Now before I launch into SFWA’s awesome description for the bundle, I just want to add that I personally *love* StoryBundle and have purchased bundles of books from them in t...

Favorite Reads of 2021

These aren’t, in most cases, books that actually came out in 2021. (A few exceptions.) Rather, it’s a list of books I read and loved last year.

I actually stopped tracking my reading on Goodreads about halfway through the year, opting instead for a paper journal. Which, as I mentioned last time, meant that I lost track of some of the books I’d read, and when I’d read them.

But I am intrepid, and I carried on. So here we are, with my favorite books read this year. They’re separated by sci...

Defender Preorder Swag!!

The end is here.

The League of Independent Operatives series will conclude with DEFENDER on January 11, 2022.

And I have presents 🙂

So, quick story. Back in 2019, when I was getting ready to launch Alter Ego, I had some really cool character art designed for the series — and a custom bookmark, too! You might’ve seen it floating around since then, but I was never really able to follow through on my plan for it.

See I’d planned to use the art for preorder swag for Anti-Hero. Whi...

New Release: CROOKED V.1!

It’s here! CROOKED V.1 is now available from your favorite ebook (and print!) retailers.

CROOKED is a science fiction crime anthology, and having read the stories in this thing… I have to tell you, I’m incredibly honored to be included among them. It’s full of heists and high-speed chases, double dealing and dangerous situations.

In other words, it’s a really good time. Every time I finished one of the stories, I got that “wait… it’s over already?” feeling. Because I just wanted more.

Cool Sci Fi Inventions

When it comes to sci fi, I’m often more concerned with what people are doing with their technological advancements than with what those advancements actually are.

In some cases though, authors come up with some truly neat stuff. Sometimes, yeah, these inventions have wider implications for the story and the world.

And sometimes, they’re just really cool.

Here are a few examples of my favorite tech inventions from sci fi books.

The TymFlex Safety System in Bypass Gemini by Joseph ...

New Release: Bypass the Stars!

Seventeen-year-old Frankie Hartiger can reroute any elevator, steal the data from any ID chip, and scramble the facial recognition software on any security bot. The only thing she can’t hack? Her parents. They won’t trust her with a coffee order, never mind a position in their interworld exploration company.

When their inaugural inter-universal tour goes wrong, Frankie sets out to rescue her parents—accompanied by Earth’s first (and most annoying) interworld immigrant, Jord Mathison. But ...
