Celebrate the Small Things-October 9, 2015

It's Friday!  Let's Celebrate the Small Things with Lexa Cain!  Tonja and I are her co-hosts.

This has been a good writing week.  It's crazy that my writing has been going so well for so many weeks in a row.  I'm not used to that.  I'm more used to rough patches involving writers block followed by bursts of creativity.  Then again, I'm working with deadlines right now, and I've always done

Express Yourself: Scary Place to Spend Halloween

The Express Yourself Weekly Meme is hosted by Jackie @ Bouquet of Books and Dani @ Entertaining Interests.

The question for this week is: Where would be the scariest place to spend Halloween?

The second I saw this question, I immediately thought of the Villisca Ax Murder House.  It's located in Iowa, and since I'm from Iowa, this place sticks out in my mind. On June 10, 1912, eight

Celebrate the Small Things-October 2. 2015

It's Friday!  Let's Celebrate the Small Things with Lexa Cain!  Tonja and I are her co-hosts.

I finished the first draft of my Christmas novella Self-Help 101 or: How I Learned to Take Over the World Through Tolerating My Family.  It's funny (at least I sure hope it is, since that was my intention), and the romantic subplot grew beyond what I originally intended it to be.  All in all, it

Celebrate the Small Things-September 25, 2015

It's Friday!  Let's Celebrate the Small Things with Lexa Cain!  Tonja and I are her co-hosts.

My oldest son Jude has been home sick the past couple of days, but he's starting to feel better.  It's nothing more than a nasty cold, but those can wear you out too.  He should be good to go back to school on Monday.  So far Lyle has remained healthy, so I'm hoping that continues to be the case.

Celebrate the Small Things-September 18, 2015

It's Friday!  Let's Celebrate the Small Things with Lexa Cain.  Tonja and I are her co-hosts.

This has been a busy week as far as writing is concerned.  I've been working away at my Christmas story Self-Help 101 or: How I Learned to Take Over the World Through Tolerating My Family.  I'm shooting for having the first draft completed by October 1st, and I think I'm on track to doing that.

Celebrate the Small Things-September 11, 2015

It's Friday!  Let's Celebrate the Small Things with Lexa Cain!   Tonja and I are her co-hosts.

I'm celebrating the fact that writing is keeping me busy.  I'm in the middle of working on three projects, and two of them have a deadline.  There's nothing like a deadline to keep me focused.  One of those projects is my short story for the IWSG anthology contest.  I have it started, and I have

Celebrate the Small Things-September 4, 2015

It's Friday!  Let's Celebrate the Small Things with Lexa Cain!  Tonja and I are her co-hosts.

Last Friday I mentioned that it was a rainy day.  Well, it turned out to be more rainy than I expected.  A lot of towns here got between 5 to 7 inches of rain.  Our town was one of them.  We pulled our cars, which we park on the street, into our yard because the road was starting to resemble a

Celebrate the Small Things-August 28, 2015

It's Friday!  Let's Celebrate the Small Things with Lexa Cain!  Tonja and I are her co-hosts.

Today is a rainy day, but I'm hoping to make the most of it by writing.  Rainy days can make excellent writing days!

The kids have had a great first week back to school.  They love their teachers and have made new friends.  It's great to see them so excited about learning.
