Dan Savage, who’s been writing a sex-advice column since 1991 but became even more well-known when he and his husband’s anti-bullying campaign, the It Gets Better Project, became a rallying cry for LGBT youth in 2010, is back with a new book, “American Savage: Insights, Slights, and Fights on Faith, Sex, Love, and Politics.” In it, the always-outspoken activist and media pundit discusses everything from his brush with Catholicism (after his mother died) to why it’s OK to cheat sometimes – and many things in between.

Speakeasy caught up with the Savage Love columnist to ask him about his new book and to get his outlook on the ongoing fight for same-sex marriage.
