What's in those stars?

"Wonderfully written story. Romance and suspense wrapped together intricately. This was one of those "hard to put down" books and I'm anxiously awaiting the next book!"

Imagine my delight when I read this review on Amazon feedback. As an Independent Author my books live and die through the opinions of readers. Indies don't have the resources the big five publishers have for promotion. Oftentimes a very good book languishes for months if not years through lack of exposure.
What I'm asking here is that if you read a book and liked it, take that two minutes to post a review or star rating, tell a few friends and pass your print copies around. A mention on your facebook, Goodreads or instagram is stellar.
All the authors I have met are making small sums from their efforts. If you liked their work, let the world know. It will give them the encouragement (and the cash) to go on. That's my soapbox and thanks for reading.

What are the elements you most enjoy in any book?

This is a meaning of life question for me. I enjoy adventure and spine tingling suspense but what really makes a book shine for me is the interconnection of the characters.
The most important things in life are friends, family and shared times, even if it's merely sitting around the table laughing.
I want my books to test those relationships and prove them stronger than the hardships that try them. When I finish a book I want to feel uplifted. I want to feel that the story is a validation of the human experiment, that we are worthy as a species of having existence.
That Perfect Place
