where is the next book???

I have been asking that question and I am sure many of you have as well. So far, Sprite Fall has undergone more changes than I anticipated. I made a major breakthrough on a character that wasn’t coming across the way I wanted. She’s been screaming at me since the first book that she isn’t […]

Just a Short Hop

Just a Short Hop

Part I

Eileen snuggled in close, her perfume was an intoxicating scent from an extinct flower called a Jasmine. She whispered platitudes that only true lovers share before having to be separated for an extended period. Eileen had a way of making me feel her words. If she said the word pain, my body would suddenly hurt. When she told me that she loved me, I could feel all the tingles and warmth of the first moment we kissed.

Her red hair brushed the side of my neck as she whis...

Book Review “Worth Dying For” by Kory Shrum

ARC Review

Worth Dying For

By Kory M. Shrum

worthdyingfor

This book review will be spoiler free. You see this disclaimer on so many ARC reviews. This is the first time I’ve struggled with such a review. So many secrets revealed. So many a-ha moments.

Writing

I stopped referring to the people in the book as characters. They have so much depth, they feel like friends. The genuine reactions and actions of the people in the book made them come to life on every page. The use of imperfect first person kept the...

Is there a tag for sweating

If there isn't I think #amsweating should be trending due to the number of authors I talk to in the same position. We put ourselves in these situations, but ignoring the urge to write is physically painful sometimes. Tonight I Spent all night working on a book review, worked on the second draft of Sprite Fall (Sprite series book 2), and a free serial I will be putting online soon.
I know we aren't the only ones who schedule 28 hours of work into a single day. Here's to all the overachievers and over planners.

NightMary

I hated being the new kid in town. The fat jokes, the acne jokes, and whatever else the other high school kids could come up with. In my defense, I was an average weight for my height. When you’re five foot one and a half, every little pound seemed much more obvious. My height also lent itself to some really wonderful bullying scenarios when we moved. The good thing is they never lasted long. I could make any bully stop. How I did it was my secret though.

I always tried to pay attention to wh...

Dying Light by Kory Shrum

So many answers lead to even more questions. Ms. Shrum manages to take the fantastical, blend it with real scientific theories, and come out with a genre bending idea on the zombie ideals. What if you had the power to save a persons life with just a touch? Now make it your job. For fun throw in a madman who may or may not be related to you. All of these things come together in the most mentally challenging way for our favorite heroine Jesse Sullivan.
What’s real and what’s fantasy blurs as he...
