Black Acres: The Complete Collection–Now Available!

Once upon a time, in 2015, I wrote a little serial called Black Acres. A 4-part series, it told the story of a young couple buying their first home–the remote Beacon estate. It was my first foray into haunted house stories.

You could say that I’ve written a lot of them since then.

I’m very excited to announce that this ol’ serialized novel of mine is out in a new edition. For the first time ever, you can pick up the entire Black Acres saga in a single volume! I even threw in a brief, self-indulgent preface to the book!

If you’re looking for some thrills and chills to get you through the summer heat, why not take a stroll through the Black Acres and see where it all began?

Better still, to celebrate the holiday, you can pick up this complete collection for a mere 99 cents (for a limited time). Or, if you’re a Kindle Unlimited subscriber, read it FREE!

Check out Black Acres: The Complete Collection on Amazon today.

Happy reading!

Malefic–Now Available!

So, today, a new book launches! It’s the sequel to The House of Long Shadows: MALEFIC.

Before I get to that, if you’ll allow me, I have a story to share. I was so busy getting this new book together that it slipped my mind, but on May 25th, I crossed a little milestone. It’s been 3 whole years since I put out my first book.

Since then (including this newest book) I’ve published 22 full-length novels and some shorter works, and have been fortunate enough to interact with tons of awesome readers like you. If you’d told me back in 2015 that I’d release more than 20 titles, I wouldn’t have believed you!

I just want to say thank you to every one of you that has ever picked up one of my books. Without you guys, they simply wouldn’t exist. Here’s to the next 20, eh?

Anyhow, let’s welcome #22, shall we?

MALEFIC

“Something is watching from behind the walls…”

The move into 889 Morgan Road was supposed to be a fresh start for Joseph Dubois and his family. What they got instead was a nightmare.

Dark shadows in the halls are only the beginning. At night, guttural noises issue from behind the walls, and the family reports seeing a terrifying figure wandering the premises. Desperately seeking someone with experience in supernatural matters, Joseph calls upon his uncle, Marcel.

Retired surgeon Marcel Dubois has a special gift: The ability to communicate with his dead wife. Harnessing this gift allows him to plumb the depths of the afterlife and to confront the paranormal. Arriving in Detroit, Marcel seeks to uncover the truth about the strange figure seen in his nephew’s new house.

But when his questions are finally answered, Marcel finds himself at the center of a horror without parallel.

The House of Long Shadows seeks another lodger.

Pick up Malefic on Amazon today!

Narrator Joe Hempel will be working on the audio version this month, so stay tuned for more information on that front.

As always, happy reading!

The results are in…

Have you heard the news? The audio version of Asylum, narrated by Joe Hempel, just won in the horror category at the ABR Awards!

The competition in that category was stiff, and the fact that Asylum was even nominated was super exciting. Hearing last night that Joe and I had won left me gobsmacked!

A big thank you to everyone who voted for Asylum (and for Darkside Blues, narrated by Jake Urry, which was nominated in the Paranormal category)! This win wouldn’t have been possible without you!

New in Audio: In Absentia

Lovers of horror audio, this one’s for you!

Back in 2015 (3 years ago now!), I published a 4-part serial called Black Acres. The bite-sized installments tell the story of a young couple who move into a remote house–a house with a dark and troubled history. I’m pleased to announce that the serial is being brought to life by narrator Joe Hempel, and that the first installment is currently available in audiobook format!

This first installment clocks in at about 2.5 hours. What better way to pass a quiet afternoon or lengthy car ride than to listen to this chilling tale in a single go?

Check out IN ABSENTIA on Audible, Amazon and iTunes!

Be forewarned–as this is a serialized work, the segments tend to end in cliffhangers, and are shorter than you might expect from your usual audiobook! The story is spread over 4 installments. An omnibus version of both the ebook and audio versions will be released in the future.

Happy listening!

New in Audio: Midnight in a Perfect World

I’ve got some awesome (and spooky) news for audiobook fans…

Midnight in a Perfect World was just released today in audio format! Join narrator Joe Hempel on this dark trip into mind-numbing apocalyptic horror!

A mysterious suicide. Horrific specters walking the streets. A drug that promises to change the world. An apocalyptic cult.

Something is stirring in the city of Duluth, Minnesota. Ever since a celebrated researcher announced the creation of a new experimental drug—a drug with the potential to cure the mind of countless ills—people have been disappearing. When a grad student involved with the drug’s development unexpectedly commits suicide, a private detective is tasked with unearthing the details of her tumultuous final days.

This miracle drug may not be what it seems. Others touched by the drug begin to see things—horrible things—and find themselves transported into a nightmarish world where an ancient evil stirs.

Those who taste the drug are left spiraling into horror. Dark figures tail them on the street, and the scenery of their nightmares begins to encroach upon waking life, blurring the lines between dreams and reality. Their terrifying experiences make up the individual fragments of a dire mosaic. As the pieces fall into place, they come to realize the unspeakable horrors that await all of mankind.

Midnight is looming, and the sun may never rise again over the city of Duluth.

Check out Midnight in a Perfect World on Audible, Amazon and iTunes!

The House of Long Shadows–Now Available!

Very happy to share this bit of news with you! My newest novel and the first in the House of Souls series, The House of Long Shadows, is now available! It’s a story of haunted houses, of creeping paranoia and tortured spirits. In other words, it’s the perfect book for you to curl up with this weekend! For a limited time, you can pick it up for only 99 cents. Kindle Unlimited subscribers can read it for FREE!

Check out The House of Long Shadows on Amazon

Synopsis:

The house at 889 Morgan Road has been empty almost thirty years. Maybe it should have stayed that way.

Kevin Taylor is an internet-famous handyman on a mission: Find a house and renovate it in thirty days. By flipping a derelict house in a month’s time and chronicling the entire thing on video for his online subscribers, he seeks to impress a handful of network TV producers and become a star.

The problems that plague this property will require more than elbow grease to fix, however.

Shadows throughout the home are distorted, and an enigmatic trespasser keeps showing up in his footage. Worse still are the hideous voices that issue from otherwise empty rooms in the dead of night.

Amid mounting dangers, Kevin is forced to meet the house’s shadowed past head-on—a past, he begins to suspect, he wants nothing to do with. Armed only with the hearsay of locals and the frightening clues he’s uncovered within the home, he attempts to find out what led to the house’s abandonment while juggling his strenuous renovation projects.

What he uncovers is horrible beyond imagination. All signs seem to be pointing to one thing:

Something in the house is awakening.

Happy reading!
