Heidi Fisk's Blog - Posts Tagged "writing-novella-progress"

Been busy, but writing is still going at a steady pace.

Hopefully I will get to around 7500 words tomorrow on Monster Girl Carnival. On an unrelated note, I been using this blogs closer to mini post/updates rather than true blogs.

When I see other writers having these large formed detailed blog post it kind of makes me nervous. My post usually just talks about what I'm up to, where I am at with my writing and the general release date.

I guess it's because I don't have as many topics to talk about in detail. Not that I mind, I like making update post and general info.

It makes me feel I'm taking my readers with me as I create my novella.

Still working on Grand Beast 2

It's going slightly smoother than I expected and it should be out for sure during the first week of October. I am over 62% done with the writing and will probably push that towards 75% by the end of the upcoming week.

I thought about releasing a shorter novella for the second one, but decided against it. I want Grand Beast to be a consistent 35000-40000 words on each release.

Even if that means taking a hit in sales and losing some momentum on releases.

Sorry for the lack of posts

Still finishing up Patreon rewards and I have just started with writing the second collab novel for Siluman Chronicles.

It's been a busy month of pipes bursting and getting things replaced. Hopefully I'll get some stuff done over the next few days.

This Month has been somewhat slow.

Spent most of the month relaxing. Which is a a shame since sales have been pretty good overall. I feel I probably need to write faster, and more frequently.

Grand Beast 4 will probably be out next Month. Then after that I'm probably going to focus on the last Siluman Chronicles book before starting back on some of my shorter series.

I'm just about to reach the halfway point in Grand Beast 4. So I'm excited about that, though writing the last novel for Siluman Chronicles is a bit intimidating to say the least.

Grand Beast 4 is 3/4 completed.

I am kind of nervous about this entry since I feel like it doesn't have much action as the previous novellas.

Though it does mark a slight shift in the story, and after this story arc is finished I will probably do a major shift in location and goals for the cast.

I decided to make Grand Beast a far longer running series, instead of ending it at my usual 9-10 novellas I'm going to keep it going as long as I have ideas.

This is kind of the first time I am going to try out an evolving story, and it kind of makes me nervous to be honest.

With a fresh start not only can you attract more readers to your writing, but its a chance to clean the slate for new ideas and characters.

That is part of the reason why I never went past 9-10 novellas.

Plus as a reader seeing a series be on book 20+ would be intimidating.

Still, I kind of want to try it out with Grand Beast. It just seems like the perfect series to do it for.
