Write What You Want or Sell Books? Are These Desires Exclusive of Each Other?

As a niche, futanari is not the worst thing ever. It's popular enough that I can, less than a year after starting to write erotica, make enough money at it every month to pay a couple bills and have some "mad money." And I'm surprised and glad at the people I've introduced to it who'd never heard of it and ended up thinking it was really hot.

But I also get comments a lot to the effect of "it's really hot, but girls with giant cocks is not really my thing." That's understandable. Futanari is a...

7 Cranky-Ass Random Thoughts about Writing, Social Media, and Life

Kindness is not sexual interest or desire. If you're mistaking simple politeness for sexual interest, you need to back the fuck up and examine where you went wrong in life. Not liking something doesn't mean it's bad, wrong, evil, or immoral. It only means that your personal preference is otherwise. What you love can be (and probably is) just as wrong and stupid and bad to other people, so get over yourself. Keep your judgmental-ass mouth shut.Publicly expressing how desperate you are for love...

December 30, 2015

Happy New Year: 2015 was the year of the futa cock. 2016 will be the year of the blend.

Well, 2015 has been quite the year!

In May, I published my first book ever, Demon's Embrace. Shortly after that I published the next book in the series, Angel's Kiss. Next, came In the Arms of Love, followed by Rough Rides and Donut Slut. My biggest "hit" (that term being extremely relative) came with the publication of Enthralled, my mix of futanari and vampires. Most recently I published the second octogirl book, Song of the Siren.

Seven books. Not bad for less than a year's worth of work.

Alo...

How to Survive Your First Author Takeover on Facebook

There is a peculiar marketing phenomenon when it comes to selling erotica and romance. This funky beast lives only on Facebook, and it is known as the author takeover. How it works is that someone creates a Facebook event and creates a takeover schedule.

The event can be for the release of an author's new book, a cover reveal, a holiday, or anything, really. If they're smart, they'll tell you what time zone they're in and pin the schedule post at the top of the event page. If they're not smart...

Top 5 Author Takeover Mistakes (Facebook Author Marketing)

I just wrapped up my two-day release event for Song of the Siren (go buy it, I'll still be here when you get back). Normally, I like to be positive. Instead of complaining, I'd much rather offer a solution or at least say what I would prefer. But after running a couple of my own author events on Facebook, now, I'm starting to see some of the same mistakes over and over.

Let me ask you a question: do you WANT to sell books?

Dumb question, right? And yet I see horrible mistakes that result not on...

How I do Author Takeovers on Facebook to Get New Readers (Without Spending Any Money)

Facebook is a fantastic place to get new readers and strengthen the relationship you have with your fans. One marketing tactic I see a lot of is the author takeover. When another author creates a Facebook event to celebrate the release of a new book, they try to make it a big ol' party by inviting other authors to come share their books. When you take the floor in another author's Facebook event to talk about your own books and have some fun, that's a takeover.

This post is not about crea...

Some Random Thoughts on Writing as Other Genders and Orientations in Erotica and Erom

I just saw a meme posted on Facebook that went like this:
A feminist asked me how I viewed lesbian porn. Apparently "in HD" was not the correct answer.
My books have approached the top 100 in Lesbian Erotica on Amazon. Yes I'm sitting on a big ol' pile of white male mostly straight privilege, but at the end of the day it's about empathy, research, and (hopefully) good writing. Bisexual women and lesbians are some of my biggest fans.

Women of various sexual and gender orientations/identifications...
