My ROCK STARS are getting a new look!
I have some exciting news to share! This Thursday I'll be rolling out the new covers for Detour, Derailed, Hinder, and revealing the cover for the final book in the series, Replay. I cannot wait to share these new covers and to celebrate I'll be offering a special sale on both Detour and Derailed.
Also, Austin's book is coming March 14th! For those who've read these interconnected standalones, Austin is one of those characters you already know and love. He's the kinda guy who says whatever's on his mind, even if it gets him in trouble and his book was an absolute blast to write! “Don’t what? Remind you how good it was? How you fell apart at my fingers. With my mouth.”
Her chin lifts and gaze narrows. “It can’t happen again.”
“Jess, it can. That’s why I’m here. We could be together. We can. I’ll take care of you. If you would only—”
She steps back, one step and then another until the gap between us feels miles wide. “Don’t ask me—”
“Leave him.” If there’s a way to beg, plead, and demand everything with those two words, I give it my all.
Her scowl falls to one of pity. “Sean . . .”
“No, don’t say my name like that.”
“Like what?”
“Like you feel sorry for me. I know you feel more. I know we’re good together. I want you, Jess, but not as some dirty little secret.”
Her lower lip trembles from where her teeth bite against it and her gaze drops. “I can’t.”
It’s not the response I want and I bristle at her words. “Why?” I need to know.
“I just can’t okay?”
“Help me. Tell me.” I close the space between us and take her hands. “Explain to me why that son of b gets to be with the most precious woman on Earth and treat her like garbage. Why I have to stand by and watch?”
“I’m not . . .” She tries to tug her hands back but I don’t let her. “You don’t understand. You never could.”
“Try me. Please, Jess. Explain it to me and I’ll leave you alone. I’ll let you live your life however you want, but just tell me why you’re with Coy.”
I don’t know if she will. I can almost see the war inside her. “You think I’m good but I’m not.”

“Mia, you need another drink?” Matt asks from across the table.
“Yeah,” I say and he lifts his brow, just the slightest. He knows I what I did was on purpose. Probably thinks I’m acting like a stupid, petty girl. It shouldn’t bother me because I shouldn’t care what he thinks, but it does. He stands from the table and I do the same. “I’m not sure what I want. I’ll come with you.”
I follow him out of the dining room, through the living area, and into the kitchen. He walks toward the refrigerator, but before he opens it, he stops on a dime and whips his gaze around so I almost lose my balance or crash into him. His response is automatic and his hands grab my hips to hold me steady. They slide along the waistband of my jeans, and a shiver works its way up my spine at the touch of his fingers. They dig just slightly into my flesh and he holds me steady. As if his hands belong there. I want them to. It’s a dangerous thought and one that has me taking a step back out of his reach.
Matt doesn’t miss a beat and opens the fridge to retrieve another beer for me and a water for him. “So, women’s footwear isn’t just for wearing? When the description called them killer boots they weren’t kidding.” His lips pull up with a wide smile as if he finds it funny I stepped on someone’s foot. I take that as a good sign.
“You better watch yourself, Haywood.” I tap my toe near his as I twist the top off my bottle and take a pull. His gaze follows my drink and his eyes zero in on my mouth. They heat like warm honey and that look alone causes my body to thrum with need. “Cross me and I’ll bring these bad boys on the mats.”
“You play dirty, Mia.” His deep murmur spikes the space between us full of desire. I should quash it. Nip it in the bud. But my inner woman roars with the power of it all.
“Wouldn’t you like to know just how much?”
His eyes darken and that woman inside claps with approval. I wonder if he might kiss me. He’s more likely to prop me on the counter and devour me the way he’s staring now. I’d enjoy it, too. I can guarantee it. That part doesn’t scare me. It’s the moments after when he becomes clingy or things get awkward that keep up my guard.

It’s all I can do to not wrap my hands around her waist and tug her close. All of the push and pull today, the witty banter, the closeness, the building chemistry between us is about to explode. The desire I feel for her is more than a quick lay or one-night stand. With Mia I already want more than my four dates—three after this one officially ends.
She leans a little closer, her eyes hooded with what I imagine is longing, but she still won’t meet my gaze. Her tongue darts out to lick along her lower lip and only a weaker man would cave and give in, take what her body language is implying. But I won’t.
“Training Tuesday?” The words come out huskier than I intend. Her eyes flutter closed and it’s only then I realize my hand has found its way to her hip. Resting above the waistband of her jeans and against the soft flesh there, my thumb draws circles on her skin. Skin I dream of tracing with my lips and gripping so tightly my fingers leave prints.
“Hmm?” she says and leans into me, her gaze now at my chest and the white shirt that peeks from beneath my jacket.
“You still want to meet for training on Tuesday?” This time I’ve got my voice back, and my body under control. I drop my hand from her hip.
She blinks and takes a step back. “Yeah, Tuesday.”
